  1. Hi Mr Sharp, welcome and good decision. Lucky you can fix yourself so early in your life. I think the skin is a combination of luck, age and genetics, so fingers crossed. Exercise will help definition but some people will need surgery despite working out. Look forward to seeing the pictures of your weight loss journey. Jane x

    Wrinkles

Yes I have some wrinkles but I am 53. I am trying to fill my arms out with muscle by going to the gym but they are not too bad. Face is bearing up OK. Stomach was wrecked by twin pregnancy, not much I can do about that, and my boobs were never particularly pert, all in all I am mostly happy in my skin! It was worse being fat and now I hav e admirers, some 20 years younger (/cougar) which is a great morale booster. Jane x

    Tria laser hair removal

Have you tried a depilator, I have one and its really good. Better than shaving and lasts longer and no stubble. Eventually the hairs give up so you get less regrowth too.

Turkey Neck with early weight loss

I have been using a £5 device I bought off eBay called the Neckline Slimmer. Takes a couple of minutes a day and I am sure it has helped firm up my jawline. I have never had good definition there and with the weight loss it was worse, but now it is looking pretty good after a month or so of use.

    Sex can't be the solution!

bilka, I totally agree with ahoy. His behaviour has not been good at all through out this and maybe you should reevaluate what you want and who you want to spend the rest of your life with. You must feel lonely at the moment with this man. Good luck my dear. Jane x

Is your birth control the culprit?

I am out the other side of the menopause now but I spent some time on HRT and this was when I became my fattest. Prior to that I was a long term birth control pill user. When I stopped the pill at 32 I fell pregnant almost immediately which I wasn't prepared for and with twins! In hindsight it was my bodies last shots at reproduction as my menopause started at 35 and was finished at 38. Sadly the hot flushes etc continued so I had to continue the HRT to keep sane. When I had WLS I came off the HRT and my loss was good and predicable. However I started to have other side effects like vaginal atrophication which was horrible so my doctor prescribed hormone pessaries that I use a few times a week and pelvic floor exercises via a lady tens machine. These 2 things have made such a difference, I am now over the hot flushes, taking no oral hormones and all is pretty good down below too, Hope this isn't TMI but I figured it may help someone when they get to the stage of life I am at. Glad I don't have to worry about getting pregnant anymore too!!!
  13. Hi all, I was on prozac when I was overweight and menopausal (undiagnosed for some time) and i have always struggled with depression since my teens. These days this seems to have lifted and my mood is mostly reasonably upbeat. Losing the weight and now having some confidence in the stability of the solution has helped enormously, Ifeel though that you cannot properly evaluate the outcome in anything less than a 2 year window so the message is hang on in there people, it will probably get much, much better! Love to all, Jane x

    I am in Puberty Hell

I think the fat cells stores all sorts of fat soluble stuff like toxins and hormone chemicals in your body and I believe that the sex hormones are fat soluble, so you are liberating previously stored hormones as you burn the fat. I went through terrible mood swings when I was losing weight agressively but when the loss petered off the mood stabilised. I think understanding why it's happening helps but from my experience you just have to wait this one out. Soz x

With you on that one Heather!!

Not in the mood -warning TMI

This is a difficult subject for so many of us. Losing the weight means the status quo is broken and all relationship issues have to be renegotiated. I am in the middle of doing this now and I am finding it painful to be going through that teenage frustrated hot feeling for days on end, TBH it's doing my head in. At my age it's embarrassing!

    bikini/two piece

How about one of these monokinis, and sadly that's not me in the pic I have ordered on as I think it will cover the wreckage of my belly button and below due to a twin pregnancy and the weight loss skin sag.

Yes, I used to have a couple of humungously large towels that were just for me, and now I can use the normal family ones. It's the little things that make the difference!
  20. wow you look like a different guy to when you started. People say I look totally different too, it's amazing how much the fat changes your looks.

I took the PPI for a year and then weaned myself off. It is possible and I took Calcium citrate since the op too as I am post menopausal and at risk of low calcium. Jane x
