    Shop much?

I am a bit worried that I buy far too much, I get loads off eBay and from Charity (Thrift) shops. I don't seem to be able to stop, and I can't wear it all! Must get self in hand, I think I am a bit bored at the moment but work is dull. I do have a series of stonking outfits if I have to do more on client site stuff but it's pointless when I am working from home :-(

    Hey you guys...

LOL, surprised she hasn't got him chained to the bed!!!
  3. 65lbs from the actual date of the op, there was weight loss prior to that due to the preop diet.

    help!!!!

Eat a hard protein dinner and you will be OK, shakes just go straight threough the stomach, meat and hard boiled egg stay in and make you feel full for much longer. Jane x

    I'll show you mine... (LBD's)

I am naturally a mojor sceptic but Gok is pretty special, finally a gay designer who actually seems to like women and their shape!! This is not anti-gay BTW, I am totally not bothered about those sort of things but many before have seemed to want us to be somewhat boyish and overly svelt. I am so going to regret this posting I know

Hi Swizzly, This is the dress underslip And this is the dress on over the top It is quite amazing how flattering it is, this is a UK size 12 BTW. Jane x

    I'll show you mine... (LBD's)

I know it's not black but I bought this red wrap round dress and it is awesome and they do up to size 22 (UK size, this is US size 20 I think). This dress sold out on the 1st day on the shelves I believe. Red dress by Gok I plan to wear it for Christmas parties. It has a body slimmer slip included and it makes the boobs look incredible.
  10. Well don't do it then, stay the same. I don't much care one way or the other.
  11. I was plagued with depression when I was twice the size I am now. I still have a tendency to get depressed but it is much less severe. Also the weight loss with VSG is different to that achieved via will power and diet alone. The former is relaxing as it is outside your control, it will just happen. The latter is nervewracking as you know that just one lapse of will power will cause it all to unravel. Please don't lose heart. Jane xx
  12. Hi Dr Jossart, I have been asked by a friend whether or not suffering from IBS would preclude her from VSG surgery? If not, what should she do, over and above what the rest of us had to do, post surgery to recover successfully? I have not got this problem so I cannot help her. Please could you give some advice here? Jane x

    Get it off my Chest!

Thinoneday, it's the frontline that's taking the hit right now. Soon the back office drones will feel the pain too. I hate the fact that the 1st to be axed are the ppl who actually do the work, how the heel does this happen???!!

Frustrated that the Sleeve is "just another diet"

Hi Rose, I am 53, was 51 when I had the op. It will work as I can attest even if you are older. How many calories are you getting in each day? I found that I lost most if I ate around 1200 a day, otherwise my body went into shut down mode. When you get to goal it's easy to just maintain I have found, so don't lose heart. Jane x

Daisy you look really good. I wish I knew of someone in Europe that can do the same for me.
  18. This is the change due to the VSG, to anyone wondering whether or not to take the plunge I say it certainly worked for me. Love to all, Jane xx

Claire that is great and pretty funny too. My daughter is studying medicine and they know that the fat bodies they dissect will have massive muscles compared with the thin ones. We need those muscles to move the bulk around, so the trick is to lose the weight and retain the muscle mass, hence the high protein diet.
  20. Meggspeggs, you will not die from this procedure and there are many people who have had their stomachs reduced in this way for other medical reasons who live happily and healthily to old age. In fact you are more likely to live longer than if you were still obese. So put a positive spin on it. Maybe go to your doctor and see if you can get some meds for the anxiety, life is too short to be unhappy. Good luck and love to you. Jane x
  21. Thanks coops, a spot of kickboxing helped, but there is still some wrinkled hanging skin, but then I'm 53 so it's to be expected. I am off on hols this evening and I hope to do alot of scuba diving so that should build up the legs. My daughters think I am weedy now! Please keep going and don't give up, it's a bit of a long slog but the VSG makes it achievable and maintainable. x
  22. It took about a year to get rid of most of it and I did not exercise a lot, but I did try to walk as much as possible. I lost 125lbs in total and am half the person I was.
  23. Thanks all. The dress and shoes came from our local charity shop and cost a whole £14.50 total!! The charity shop purchasing was born of rapid weight loss and it was the cheapest way to get through it, and I got the habit. I think the dress is Italian designer, Rinascimento, the shoes were unworn and made by Unisa which is an expensive brand. I love a good bargain I do!
  24. I have been at goal for about a year now and you do have large readjustments to make. I became very obsessed with my appearance but that seems to have passed now. I suppose I had years of neglect to make up for. Also my relationship with my husband changed, went from mostly best pals to best pals and lovers too. All these changes came with rows and insecurity, but we have weathered the storm and celebrated 22 years of marriage yesterday. As to what thin people think about, probably what parties they are going to and what their friends and family are up to, and obviously if they are female, shoes!
