    My Funny NSV

Yo Mini, thats fab. I love thrift shops and charity shops and eBay. I take a perverse pleasure in dressing from non-mainstream in-expensive outlets. You can get some wonderful stuff, and your DH is right, you need to stop hiding from now on. Get used to not hiding behind the Cloak of Flabby Invisibility. You have rejoined the world of Normal, which is a whole new place to play in. Jane
  2. Just over a year out I can barely see where my incisions were, so hold that thought!
  3. Hi Jenny, Congats and welcome to the Losers Bench.

    Obesity as Morality

Its a UK 14 and now I am a size 12 (8 in the US) so the moment has gone sadly. I am looking forward to getting some shameful clobber for the Xmas period to torment my family with though
  5. Hi darling, you have been through the wars. The good news is that it should become so much easier and you will be able to eat anything in small amounts. I can send you more info if you want to PM me. All the very best, Jane
  6. Yes I do the same, I keep touching my collarbones. Its very strange, like you have found a whole new typography of you. I used to do the same years ago with my ribs when I was borderline anorexic so we should be careful. Love Jane
  7. Will look for Bento boxes in the UK, as long as the fish is cooked ! Well I will try the raw stuff really, like rare steak I would imagine.

Ha ha, nice one! I do wear skinny low slung jeans now, with big belts. You will do it too! Actually with a bit of hair dye you can get away with it. Its the likes of the little purple leather mini skirt that caused my daughter to tell me she would never go out with me looking like that which are out of bounds! Shame cos it was a real eBay bargain. I shall have to sell it or pop it down to the charity shop. Tell you what, lets grow old and thin disgracefully.:thumbup:

Will I ever eat a reular meal again?

Sadly I did not have time. Had Sunday dinner at the hotel after I arrived in the afternoon, nice wine but no beer, and then was at the clinic the next day having tests and staying in for the op on Tuesday morning. Flew back Friday 5.00pm, so no sightseeing at all. Have been to Prague though, nice place but now overrun by chavvy British stag & hen parties.

Will I ever eat a reular meal again?

We were in Florida a month or so ago and the speed with which the waiting staff whisk your plate away and immediately produce the next course actually began to really annoy us. We tried asking for a pause with our waiter but then his colleague seeing a lapse brought the food anyway!! This really doesn't work for me as I need time to eat and enjoy. Italian eating is lovely, really leisurely and laid back.

Will I ever eat a reular meal again?

Kathy, It'll speed by in no time. You just concentrate on the low fat thing to shed as much as poss before hand and make your liver as small and as healthy as poss for the op. Because you have a date you can focus and it makes it easier to do the trad diet thing for the last time. I had to postpone my op due to a cold so I know how the wait feels. Avoid germy people for the last 3 weeks. All the best, Jane

Will I ever eat a reular meal again?

Hi Kathy, I am just over a year out and a typical work days food would be 2 eggs scrambled for breakfast Atkins day break bar mid morning Shredded chicken or ham and salad with sweet chilli sauce on it Apple afternoon snack Chicken breast and brocolli for dinner with half a bottle of wine During the day I drink loads of Tea because I am a Brit :scared0: Today I was bad becasue it's Friday and had a pub lunch which involved some roast lamb and broad Beans and 2 pints of pear cider. I couldn't finish the meal but had a fair stab at it. The guys finished it for me. I was fine and very happy. The conversation was good and the food I did have was yummy. So relax you will have a good life even with the sleeve. :crying:

    Obesity as Morality

It is true I am very resentful of having to work whereas before I didn't mind because I wouldn't be doing much else interesting. Now I just want to party and go out all the time. I have lost my Work MoJo :crying: I was also expecting somehow to be 30 again when I lost the weight which was my age when I piled it on for the last time. I was disappointed to be a skinnier 50+ person when inside I am 18 but am getting used to it slowly. DH is under strict instructions not to let me go out dressed too young, but I worry about his eyesight. I would never have a go at a defenceless or blameless person, but put a nannyista authoritarian type in front of me and I will give them what for. I think it's called Oppositional Defiance Disorder now, but when I were a lad it was called being a naughty brat (which I was). :scared0:

    Obesity as Morality

Funny thing is that as I have got thinner I feel more inclined to let the dark side of Jane out. You know, the inner child that feels stroppy and has tantrums. Maybe this is because I subconsciously feel 'cute' enough to get away with it? Or maybe I am just a bit calorie starved and grumpy? I know this is something I have to keep a lid on, cos I have years and years worth bubbling around in here !!!!!! Yikes!!! :001_wub::001_wub:
  21. Thanks, Will give it a few more weeks and review. I don't get a sore throat from it so that's a plus.
  22. Update on my stopping PPIs. After nearly 2 weeks off I am now experiencing greater restriction now my acid levels are not supressed. how weird is that??! I was actually sick yesterday after eating a rather greasy portion of slow cooked rib of beef. I am very rarely sick. And it was more of a regurgitation of the excess but I did feel pretty rough.
  23. I'd like to know too. I had assumed that my stomach would settle down to normal as I did not have refluxy type problems before I got really overweight. I will arrange bone density scan, should get it done in 2012 way things are in the UK at the mo :crying:

    I'm in Freaking hell

Hi Phatcurves, you might need to check your rental agreement on the old apartment and terminate your liability. I had a similar problem with a joint owned house with my horrible b/f years ago. You don't want to have unforseen bill in the future as from what I can see he will be very capable of dropping you in the financial poo. I had to leave my cats behind too so I know how you feel. Everything we got together was only got on the understanding that they were his. I did have 40% of house though which caused problems a year later when he wanted to sell. I wish I had made it more difficult for him, if it happened now I would have got a no win no fee ambulance chasing lawyer firm on my side just to give him maximum pain hehehe. But for now just do what is best for yourself. And remember that possessions are just stuff and happiness is more important, be your own proud person.
  25. Hi, I haven't had a bone density scan because I can't be bothered with the palaver of trying to arrange it via our NHS system (maybe I should), but I have lost an inch in height in my last 30 years and I am post menopausal, so to play safe I want to get to a minimum drug regime. currently I just have one to take for my asthma which I will continue as infinitum as I really need it. I will be continuing with the calcium citrate and vit D to be belt and braces. Plus exercise of course.
