  1. Or so I thought. I went to my Dr's ofc and after a 45 minute wait, I went back to get my fill. I was superexcited to get back on track. Well, due to my acid reflux I was doing a barium swallow fill, and after he filled me and then stood me up to drink, he ended up UNFILLING me slightly. I can't believe I am paying like 300 for him to take some out! How rude! Grrrr. I don't know what else to say!

  3. I use wheybolic 60 from GNC. I bought vanilla and chocolate, then I make them with soy milk (much better than skim). THEN, the best part is making "shakes" or flavored protein shakes. I use sugar free jello powder for a strawberry chocolate protein shake or a rasberry vanilla shake. I think it makes a huge difference. I blend in my magic bullet with 2 cubes of ice. Still not something i'd choose over chocolate, but the flavoring helps. Good luck!
  4. One of my favorite mushies is cottage cheese with pasta sauce... the two combined is magnifico! Hope that helps! Congrats on being banded and beginning your journey
  5. I got GNC Wheybolic 60 in vanilla and chocolate, then bought "mixers" like sugar free jello, I had a scoop to shakes for flavor and variety.

I don't know, but mine will not work. It comes up, I hear sounds, but I can see nothing. It's very irritating!
  7. I too had one incission. My recovery was great. I went to the gym like 2 days later and walked on the treadmill for a mile. Only disadvantage is I got hungry quicker than others. Perhaps because I wasn't as swollen.
  8. I use Wheybolic Extreme 60 from GNC. It is pretty darn good. I mix with skim milk, then sugar free jello to get some fun flavors like berry chocolate or strawberry banana. You just use like a small amount and it is delish. Then add ice.
  9. I take the watermelon bariatric advantage. It makes me nausoues it's so disgusting. It tastes like fish covered in watermelon. It makes me GAG. I try taking with coffee to mask the taste. I recommend something else.
  10. My Dr. was amazing. I only used pain meds the first night, which I didn't really need, but just to be sure I slept. He did an excellent job and I went to the gym 2 or so days after surgery and walked a mile on the treadmill. I give him 2 thumbs up.
  11. I had the single incission. You can see a picture of my belly button on my profile. The only "disadvantage" is that there is less swelling, so I pretty much woke up from surgery hungry, where others are not as hungry with more incissions. I only know a doc who does it in Saint Louis, so can't help with part 2.
  12. I had Dr. Scott. My first fill was done in radiology by the Dr. himself. that is the only fill I have had... so not sure what the next one will be like. Very professional and knowledgable doctor. Highly recommended.
  13. I had the same problem and someone suggested stool softners to me. It worked like a CHARM! Apparently the food we eat has a ton of fiber, so the softner helped a LOT!
  14. My surgery was 3/6/9. I just had my first fill last Thursday. Unfortunately, it has not made an impact on my appetite. I have a 14 cc band, and he did a 3 cc fill. So, I wouldn't expect too much from it if I were you. And i felt it came right in time too as I was starving all last week!
  15. Hello again Blog! So Thursday was my first fill. I discovered I have a 14CC band and he put in 3 cc's the first time. After seeing pictures i was a little freaked out, but just like everyone told me it was pretty smooth. I'm excited to move along in the journey. The fill came just in time as I started getting even hungrier on a daily basis. I know it's not going to help much, but maybe give me a little more control over myself, to know things are moving along. I am now 20 pounds thinner, I went to the gym and picked up a 20 pound weight and that thing was heavy. That was amazing.

  17. Dr. Minkin did my surgery about a month ago. It was so smooth, no pain, 1 incission, great care! I highly recommend him! Let me know if you have any other questions! - Monica
  18. I only have 1 incission, right by my belly button. It has already disappeared. Never heard of 3 incissions though!
  19. i'm going through the same thing. I am not eating a lot and my weight loss stopped. I am even exercising. Good to know I'm not the only one.

Alright, so my scar is totally not there. That is pretty exciting, I love that I only got 1 incission and it is inside my belly button. The first 2 weeks went really well. Last week, not so much. I only lost two pounds (cause I basically weighted myself naked) and I did a good job of sticking to what I am supposed to do. I know 15 pounds is a lot in 3 weeks, but already hitting a plateau, that is depressing. I feel great, eating is alright, still hungry, but better. I am exercising and being active and I love that. I am just scared, like many others are, that I will be the ONE it does not work for. OH WELL, I will do my best and pray. Plus, at least my deductable is gone, no more medical bills for 2009!!!

  22. BTW, I started mushies after 1 week (egg beaters, low fat cottage cheese, soft cheese with less than 5 grams of fat per ounce) are some of my favorites. Plus crackers. And now 3 weeks later I can add deli meat, peanut butter etc. And the doc said NO GUM FOR 6 MONTHS!
  23. Hello Everyone!!! I was banded 3/6/9. I have been going to the gym and walking on the elipticle about 3 days a week. it kind of sucks though cause i'm starving. My doc did just one incission on me so i was recovered about the next day, never took pain meds. I love our name and that there is a group of people like me!!! CONGRATS TO US ALL!
