  1. Oh my gosh! R you ok now? Where you able to get your unfill? I've been so crazy busy these days! I got to visit a support group where I live and it was pretty interesting. What was nice is that I felt that I belonged. Girl keep them cute pics coming!

  2. I'm so stunned at how skinny your face is! Don't you just love it when everyday people you work with notice and complement you? What a rush!

  3. Hey Girly! I'm feeling good this week since I finally got off my horrible plateau of a month and lost 4 lbs just last week. So happy it's moving along! So... is Vegas fun, or is it just all hipe?? :) Oh, and I'm trying to figure out if my band is too tight, my friend said it might be since I'm having too many slime episodes-YUCK! and some of those choking moments where you see your life flash before your eyes...we will see... but nothing but happy thoughts right now...

Can my body really become a small size?

Wow! I really appreciate your input. We are actually almost the same in starting stats! I am 5'5 and started at 257 lbs wearing size 24. And you're in a size 4!!! Really, I just can't even visualize that for myself. But I am glad to know it's a possibility. Right now I'm just spending so much time in the closet getting rid of things...can't wait to have that surprise moment too. thanks!

  6. PS: Why in the world do I still have a question mark as my pic when I have uploaded a profile pic? I'm going nuts figuring that out...any suggestions?? :)

  7. It's been hard with this crazy plateau I hit immediately after surgery but finally, and I don't know how, but I'm losing a pound or two every other day for the past two weeks. I was thinking about posting something about small sizes. I WISH I could be a size 8 or less but I really have no clue if my body could do it. I've always been big.

  8. Wow! You're a size 4! That's incredible...and you pics are Amazing!

    Need Help

I totally agree with Mindy too on doubling up the appointment. That's terrible that your doc is so far away! I know nothing about bikes but yours looks really awesome for the ride there  You have probably already done this, I am sure, but I will ask any way...Have you called the insurance and asked for a nutritionist closer to home? Also, have you considered e-mailing the list to your former nutritionist and having a phone consult instead? That may be a creative solution as well. Like Mindy, I do not measure my foods either but I do eye it out. I know I shouldn't consume more than 4 oz at a time which doesn't get me full but it does satisfy my cravings until I get hungry again.

    Need Help

Joe, my heart goes out to you! I know from all my research before finally deciding to get the lap band, that a lot of people can lose weight and then it can creep back up. The good thing is that you DECIDED to do something about it. I just got my band on 12-20-08 so I am a newbie at this but our struggle is the same. But just start slow. Get your cardio going at least. Walk a little bit farther every day. I wouldn't try too many changes at once- One thing at a time. Also, does your insurance cover your nutritionist visits? That's such a great resource that helped me. We are all here to support one another. I am really glad that you are here. I think you are brave for not giving up.

    Introductions

Yeah, I had that too. Plus I felt like something was stuck in my throat...that one I really didn't like but it's all part of the process. I had that for a while too. Just remember to chew your food very well and go really, really slow...I remember stabbing pains for a few seconds if I swallowed too fast. But everyone has different symptoms. I'm so happy for you and wish you the best! I was banded 12-20-08 and have lost 33 lbs so far.

I hope to find great people here since I know 0 people here personally in TX that I can connect with on this topic. I'm so happy to have found this site with all these nice people in it. :)

  18. Hey JWhipple, I recently hit a mean one month plateau too. I couln't get down from 234 lbs. I was working out and doing all my cardio and eating all my Protein. What I noticed is that I wasn't really eating enough carbs and not getting the recommended 8 hrs night sleep. Now I am eating 4 times a day and sleeping AT LEAST 8 hrs and that seemed to do the trick. This month I finally lost 5 lbs in 3 weeks. I know the body naturally keeps us in plateaus until it gets used to the new weight and changes but this is what worked for me personally. Good luck! You're doing great  Banding date - 20 DEC 2008 Starting Weight - 257.0 lbs My Banding Weight - 244.0 lbs My Current Weight - 226.6 lbs
