  1. Happy 41st Birthday SavanasMama!

  2. Exactly I was banded on the 9th of November and I have very little restriction. I dont get my first fill till the 22nd of December so its up to us to have the will power and also I know I need to let the judging of other people get to me I know where I work I am more aware of how easily people judge on my decisions on not eating but in the same sense I am more aware of their eating habits and it helps me have the will power to say I will do this for me and I dont care what anybody thinks I hope that makes sense.) Hang in there we can do it!!!!
  3. I was banded also on the 9th of November I have yet to have my fill I am hoping that comes in December b/c I dont feel I have any restrictions but I am too scared to test it to see he put me on the mushie stage, my doctor told me I could eat anything I can mush with a fork and put it on a smaller plate of course protein first than vegetables

when will I be myself again?

I was banded also on Monday and had to stay overnight due to a hernia repair today is the first day I felt like getting up and sitting on the couch. I am experiencing lots of painful burps but I know that is due to the gas getting out of my system it doesnt help the fact but do expect to feel better by sunday. I am looking forward to eating mashed potatoes on Saturday I know that sounds strange but I have no desire to eat or drink anything at the moment just want to chill on the couch or in my bed. :wub:Hang in there they say it gets better.

    Being Banded this Monday

I am finally home from the hospital they had to keep me over due to a repair of a hernia I did not know I had also they had to biopsy my liver b/c there was fatty tissue in it. I am doing well so far but I know I am suppose to be up and walking but I am such in discomfort all I want to do is rest and prepare myself for this journey. I doubted myself after I came out of surgery b/c I felt so bad and not knowing I had a hernia repaired has made my spirits a bit of a downer. I know I did the right thing and will do well but I am second guessing myself oh the bright side I get to start the pudding, cottage cheese and milk thing tomorrow YEAH no more chicken broth or jello for me lol :tongue2:

    Any November 2009 Bandsters??

In less than 3 hours I will be ready to go into surgery. My doctor only reccommended that i started the liquid diet yesterday so Yahooo. I bought some vegetarian broth and tried it almost gagged from it but I downed it like a trooper, my dh and daughter have been supported when I was about to give in to temptation after surviving 1 day I know I can do this. Looking forward to the mushy stage of the process Ha ha and trying to find a different protein shake to taste, I bought slimfast on accident so im going to have to get some better than that lol I hope all goes well with the rest of you and we start our new journeys together :smile2:

Hello Ladies I am being banded on the 9th of November and I am so excited like a child gets the day before Christmas excited. How exciting to start a new life and look forward to so many things I haven't done in years like not having to wear a seat belt extender or cross your legs although I am pretty short lol. Being Banded this Monday

I am so excited to begin my new life I was on another forum but got discourage by all the people stating I could not successfully lose the weight with my BMI being over 50, but I passed that aside and found you guys and what inspiring journeys you have all lead to being successful. I have done the research for many years and finally got the green light from my insurance and the powers that be. I do believe the lap band is the best choice for me because if God wanted my stomach and intestines to be routed like a highway map than he would of done so, I am a firm believer this will work for me and I know its not a "quick fix" but a tool to help me reach my healthier me I am so glad I found this site which is all about the bands. I look forward to all the tips, support and knowledge from everybody. Thanks for reading this and have a great day:thumbup:
  11. Hey Dab That is great. I am going through Dr. Selim I will have my first meeting with him this Thursday. I am excited and I have lots to lose.. All your stories that I have read on this thread is absolutely encouraging as I begin my journey my banded date is the 9th of March. I look forward to sharing my stories with all of you. You all rock!!!
  12. I live in MO and I am meeting my surgeon on the 27th of February. Kind of scared and excited, I have been anticipated to do this for quite some time, I cried when I got my approval letter from my insurance and the call from the doctors office to schedule my appointment and surgery date all in the same call. My DH loves big girls but I am bit too big for my taste. I also have a daughter who is my life and I am not only doing this for myself but for her so I will be around to see her grow as the beautiful woman she will become. I dont have too much of a support system since my mom passed in 2004 and my dear friends live outside the state, but I am gradually coming out of my shell and joining "fun" groups at my work. Today I am learning to knit LOL. Just looking for someone to help me through this or be in my cheering section as I battle this losing battle ... thanks for stopping by and reading this. :w00t:
  13. So many of the posts are so true. I think the things I wont miss about being Obese are: Buying clothes at Catherines b/c Lane Bryant sizes don't go up that far I can only buy jewelry at Catherines or Lane Bryant b/c Walmart watches or necklaces wont fit around my big neck or wrists. Being ashamed of my size 10 wedding ring b/c my fingers are short and chubby My big belly rubbing against the steering wheel or sliding my drivers seat all the way in the back to make room for my belly. Seat Belt extenders Praying when I go out to eat they don't sit us in a booth and if they sit us in the booth praying it is able to move so I can get in. Not playing with my daughter on the floor and if I do I can only sit a short time cause my knee or back starts to hurt. Being hot all the time Stretching my shirts to cover up my belly My bat wings ( arm fat) The list could go on and on but I am so looking forward my surgery 3/9/9..
  14. I found this site out by accident at work excited to see all the supporters I am being Banded on the 9th of March, meeting with my doctor on the 27th. Very excited I was in shocked when I got the letter of approval from my insurance. DH is kind of worried of "losing" his sexy wife, but I reasurred him he will love the new ME b/c I will be able to do more with him and my daughter who is 8. I can't wait to no longer be the Fat Mom.
  15. I havent met my doctor that will be next Thrusday, I was surprised when the WLS center called me earlier this month and gave me the the doctors appointment and the day of my surgery all on the same day which I was surprised and excited. Now the time is getting closer and I am getting a little nervous at meeting my doctor for the first time and also the recovery time. I plan on taking a week off, my Family Medical Leave doesn't give me too much time off due to some other reasons so I am taking that week. I heard from the day after to a week of recovery. I guess it will depend on me and my recovery state. So I am excited to meet everyone :mad2:
