    Me @ 199 4

    Ya! Congrats! You look great!
  2. I am in need of some advice! I was banded Thursday the 12th and am having the hardest time eating.I guess I am asking what others have been consuming on average just to compare! I can never eat or drink any more than a couple small sips or few bites. Even when I am eating I feel sick to my stomach. I am so incredibly weak and have lost 15 pounds. Really 15 pounds in 4 days! That's not normal! I am gonna call my doc tomorrow... I just in the meantime wanted all of your advice and experiences. thanks so much!
  3. Thanks for all of your answers and support! I just went to the doctors and had 4cc's removed... Boy! I feel 100 times better! thanks again!
  4. A lot of people are given these Patches before lap-band surgery. I am sure it just depends on your doctor and surgery center. I haven't felt any nausea so far... I think the patches are great as long as you understand what side effects can happen.
  5. It is related to lap-band. I was given the patch before surgery by a nurse to help prevent nausea.
  6. It was totally scary! I can't tell you how relieved I am that it was nothing. All of the doctors had me freaked out! I was never warned or anything about the patch. Im kinda bothered by it... I thought about calling the surgery center and giving them a heads up! Maybe they could start warning people about these patches!!
  7. Today is day three of my little lap-band journey. I was getting up to take a shower and took a glance in the mirror and realized my right pupil was fully dialiated. It is as big as the color part of my eye. My left eye is normal. I freaked out... called my doc and she said I might be having a stroke!!! (Anxiety went thru the roof!!!) She advised me to call 911... I didn't feel like I needed the whole fire truck and ambulance sha-bang so my bf just drove me to the ER. When I got there they took my vitals, did an EKG, and admitted me. Everything was coming up normal so then they opted to do a cat scan. Soooo many people came to look at my eye and asked me billions of questions. So to make this already long story short... The DOC came to the conclusion that it was the Scopolomine Patches. They are to help you not have nausea. I was not warned that these patches that go behind your ear can do this. A lot of time, money, and most of all totally freaking out could have been preventive if someone just told me. I googled it when I came home and found that a lot of people have this reaction. Anywhere from blurred vision, to tunnel vision, to going blind!!! I read that you are supposed to gradually take it off. Like 1 to 1/2 to 1/4 of one... hmmm! Anyway... I thought I would share my story and hopefully prevent anyone else from thinking they are having a stroke or bleeding in the brain!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. In my opinion... I think you are fine. The doctor at the ER told me it should be gone in a couple of days. Just since yesterday my eye has improved a lot. You can actually see some of my color. I'm glad your ok! Hopefully everything went well with your surgery too!

    Yep! This is it!

Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life. I have been jumping back and forth from scared out of my mine to completely stoked! I am fearful, anxious, excited, and motivated. I have been overweight my whole life and can't believe that it is going to be over. I have to admit... I can't picture it. I'm having a hard time seeing myself as skinny. What will I look like?! Ha! Seriously tho... My surgery is tomorrow morning in Tempe, AZ. My parents won't be there but my BF will. I'm thankful to have him by my side. Whew. Here goes nothing!!!! Best of luck to any one else having surgery tomorrow or any time soon!!!

    Yep! This is it!

LapLady, Yaaa! Monday! I bet your so excited! Pain had its toll on me yesterday. Day 1 was a piece of cake... Day 2 was a little rough... only toward the evening. I felt extremely weak and had some gas. Today is better. I am able to have more options with food... First two days I had to do a clear liquid and now the rest of the week just liquids. I am hoping that having Protein shakes will help boost my energy a bit! Best of luck to you. I wouldn't stress too much about pain. It is totally bearable.. just have some drugs on hand!

    Finally

Congrats!! Are you getting your surgery done in AZ... if so where at? I had mine done two days ago by Dr. Nirmul at True Results
  13. I'm on a diet like CRC... After the first 48 hours I can have yogurt, pudding, Jello, V-8 juice, etc. I would check with your doc first but I think if you can keep it down then it is okay to have! Best of Luck
  14. Thank you! My surgery went perfectly! :) I seem to be recovering well... a little more sore today then yesterday!!

Hopefully everything is going well for you too!

  15. Congrats!!! The time will fly! Get ready to start your new life!!!!

  19. BEK1986

  20. BEK1986

    Yep! This is it!

Hotmama! Good luck on your surgery. My best reccommendation is to just walk around as much as you can. Last night my BF and I took the dogs for a quick walk... I walked slow and it did tire me out for sure but I think it is making my recovery speed along. I'm still not hungry... it is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! This is amazing! Best decision yet!
  21. BEK1986

    Yep! This is it!

Xgrl! 11 days goes by soooo fast! Get ready! I only took a week off... Well almost. Thursday through Wednesday!! At this rate I think Ill be good to go. Probably just a little sore. I did read a forum someone posted and said Day 2 was harder. I am praying that it isn't the case for me! Keep me updated on your status... Ill fill you in on how things keep going!
  22. "Jemima J" by Jane Green. It is my favorite book ever!!! Easy read and very inspirational! :w00t: My Mom also just bought me "Drop Dead Beautiful" by Jackie Collins.

  24. BEK1986

    Yep! This is it!

Haha. This morning on my way to surgery I found a window. It was perfect!!!! :-D Everything went so well. I feel great and am up and walking around ever hour. I am not hungry! WOO HOO! My throat hurts a bit... nothing more than just a sore throat! As far as gas goes.... all is well. I haven't taken anything and it isn't seeming to bother me. My insicions are tender but bearable. Overall I am suprised at how great I feel! I had a little anxiety attack right before I went in... just had to reassure myself that I was making the right decision. I started picturing the girl I saw in the window and my nerves started to calm down. Thanks for all the positive words of encouragement. I've started my new chapter. I am thrilled.
