  1. I am an 8th grade teacher and had my surgery in July. By the time I went back to school I was on solids and was familiar with a routine. You may want to reconsider and have your surgery in the summer. Will you be able to take care of yourself during the day with a 20 min. lunch break? with your students needing you when you are trying to drink your water? You know how it is from the minute you walk through the door....you don't stop until the end of the day. Just my opinion....
  2. Linda, What you are feeling is completely normal after anesthesia. A few days after surgery it is common to feel depressed and regret. I remember crying and wanting to get the band removed immediately. My husband (a physician) explained the medical reasons for this and I accepted it and just cried for 3 or 4 days. Then it left me as fast as it came and I felt fine, even excited that I now had this tool to help me to lose weight. Hang in there and you should feel like your old self soon, after the anesthesia clears itself from your body.

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Thank you for responding. I think you may have a point about the stretched pouch. Following the 5 day pouch test couldn't hurt and may get me back on track. Thanks for the info!

    Thanks again.
  5. Hi Everyone, I am new to LBT. I was banded in July 2006 and things have been slow for the past year. I have fallen back to my pre-banding behavior of trying a different diet everyday. I am just beside myself. Also, I think my pouch is stretched and am going to try liquids for a few days to see if it will shrink back to size. I seem to be eating everything that will go through my band and not the things I should. HELP!!!

Laura, Thank you for you reply. I went to the website that you posted and this seems a great way to get "back on the wagon". I am really motivated to get going again. The great thing about the band, is that it is always waiting there to be used again....

    Oooops! Stretched pouch

Hi All, I am new to LBT and am posting for the first time. My question to you is what do you drink when you are on liquids for a stretched pouch? Do you start with clears and then move on to full liquids? I need to get my restriction back and will try this before I see my surgeon for my fill appointment next week. Thanks
