    Christine - how much does a tonsl weigh? having them out has to be at least a pound or two right? :)

    I will tell you .. I would not put this on my worst enemy..it hurst like a beech nut.. I think lap band was better.. it hurts to drink Water, swallow.. eat.. but I am trying to stick to the lap band diet.. but right now getting anything in is good.. I am eatting ruffle chips (for the salt and the rough texture on my throat) God it even hurts to yawn.... I weighed myself this morning and I was dwon 10 pounds in a week.. and this is that time of the month..so when this week is over.. I will get rid of the water weight.. in addition to the other weight loss.


  2. It is like I had surgery again.. I had my tonsils taken out on tuesday.. so on liquids for a couple days.. still unable to eat regular foods.. Popsicles..and water.. I have had reduced fat sea salt chips.. so I get thirsty to drink more water.. The scale has not moved.. so maybe it will now..

    Roxy123.. my goal was about 175lbs.. I started at 289lbs.. and being 5'11 I thought that would be a good weight.. I have not thought about less than that.. a size 10/12 Wow.. I would love that.. but I am not sure how I would look like..

    I saw a picture of me from this past Christmas and then a picture of me at Easter..and there was a big difference. I need to find a picture of me before surgery and compare..


  3. Well day before Easter and I don't think I have made it to our challenge.. but I am lower than when I started..

    Roxy123.. you sound alot like me.. I started I think a little heavier than you.. I started 289 and now down in the 230's.. (soon to be 220's) and I am 5'11. What size are you in now? and what size is your goal? I am in 18/20's now.. want to get to 12/14... but is that realistic for someone ur build? I don't remember what I looked like at that size on the way up..

    I went and had a 1/2 fill last week.. my dr puts me on lear liquids for 24 hours.. and then full liquids for the next 24.. but I did not fully stay there.. I have now 2.5 fills in a 4 size band.. I think a week after my fill, my restriction has finally kicked in..

    On Tuesday I am having my tonsils out.. so on liquids for a couple days.. so that will be a couple pounds down since I will not be able to eat and just drink..

    I am also off to the tanning bed.. that is funny I also wondered if it was ok for my band... but I am still going.. I figured this is a summer for the new me.. smaller size.. swim suit..and a tan.. now if I had the body of Pam Anderson or something.. I would be kickn' for the summer..

    Last night my husband had a couple cocktails..and he made the comment he has not ate (except for one meal a day) hoping to loose weight so that he could be smaller so that I would not leave him.. he is 6'6 and was 280lbs.. so a big guy....I tried telling him not the case.. ( I like the bigger guys.. makes me fell smaller..lol) but I hope he gets that out of his head and it was the beer talking.. we will see he is still sleeping..

    well off to tan and then an Easter egg hunt with the kids..

  4. Well it has been a while since I posted.. I was traveling.. Went to Vegas and Chicago back to back.. I was hard to stay on track.. eatting out day and night.. but I walked my butt off in Vegas and lost my butt in the casinos.. I went to the Dr yesterday..and in the past month I lost 4 pounds.. not bad for eatting out. so I asked for a 1/2 fill.. because I feel like my portions were getting a little bigger.. so yesterday was Clear Liquids and today full liquids. How did we do it for weeks? 2 days is hard..

    It has been nice here so I have been doing things outside to keep active.. I also bought a core stability ball to doo things at home..Have no used it yet since it has been nice, I have walked did yard work.. and cleaned my garage..


  5. Well it has been awhile since I posted.. I am depressed.. I am going up and down.. I don't want to go up.. so today I am going to be strick with myself.. Those Girl scout Cookies need to go.. just one here and there and soon the box is half gone.. I even tried the sugar free brownies they had and they are ok..

    Well I leave Sunday for VEGAS!!!.. can not wait.. it is 30 degrees here and it will be 85 in Vegas.. sounds like the pool is calling my name.. course after a few slots.. I had to get out some of my summer clothes.. capri's and sandles.. and the capris I had last year.. fit sooooo much better..

    Christine, in what dept. did you find the MM? I'm going to colombus this Sat. and I'm going to pick some up.

    Linadu... I found it at Meijers.. in the diet section..where they have all of the slim fast and the other brand name diet drinks.. back by the pharmacy.. that is where mine was.. I am going to try it tomorrow..

    Do I mix it with Water? ? or is better with milk?? what flavor does everyone like? I guess it would be personal taste.. I went with milk chocolate.< /p>


  7. well I found my MM.. it was at Mejiers.. a grocery store here.. It was 13.99 for the 1lb jug,.. I called GNC and my god.. i would need a loan to live on this.. on the internet it was not too bad..So I went for the milk choc... we will see how that goes..and I got the RTD for my Vegas trip.. I need to get some Protein in that week besides alcohol..

    Don't get me wrong.. I am ready for a little R&R.. No kids (ages 4 & 6) and no DH.. just my self..it would be good if DH went ..but he cant.. so just me myself and I.. It would be good if I were a guy.. no problems.. but a girl walking by herself.. on the strip.. guess I will stay on the slots.. LOL.. I will have fun.. I went a year ago.. 60 pounds heavier.. and had a great time then too..

    Remember.. what happens in Vegas.. stays in Vegas.. LOL (wink)


  9. I also have not posted in a while.. I have been busy.. got caught up on the pos.. Jimboss you are so funny.... I know I can always get a good story from you..

    Well it has been what 4 months that we have been banded.. well Friday at work. I think about 10 people said "have you been loosing weight, you look great".. did they just now notice.. I have friends who tell me only another 25 pounds would be good.. but I want to loose another 40-50 pounds..

    I went to the Dr for another fill and he said since I have been doing well and I am not hungry and I fell full.. that he did not do a fill. I still have problems at dinner.. other meals are not a problem. .. Like I think someone said.. my first bite I get hungry..and I eat too much or to big..so I PB..

    Where else can you get Muscle Milk.. besides the internet.. I do not want to but it in the big quanties you have to buy.. can you buy it in a store? if so which ones and where.. I have looked in Walmart.. they do not have it...

    well my hair has slowed down falling out.. I take Biotin and that seems to help.

    I want to loose 5-10 by mid March.. going to VEGAS!!.. it is for work.. but I am going to Vegas by myself.. My DH tried to go but he was not able to .. no other people from work are going.. just me.. a single girl walkng by herself on the strip.. (I do not want to stay in my room, I want to see the sites.. I was there a year ago for work but with other co-workers)


  10. Well It has been a long week.. I was having a bad day this week.. I noticed more of my hair was coming out.. I was getting depressed.. and I became iratable.. i jumped on everyone.. felt like crying.. just bummed.. I called my dietician..and she told me to try Biotin pills or zinc and I would notice a difference.. well I have been on them for 5 days.. and I have.. I feel a little better.. my hair is not coming out like it was..

    I looked for the muscle milk at GNC things like that.. and it was very $$$$.. I will have to look on ebay..

    Jimboss you are sooo funny.. and the (I can't remember who it was) the cat story.. I laughed..

    I had my 2nd fill and since then .. I have not been able to eat dinner.. it gets stuck.. and I PB.. Breakfast and lunch and Snacks are no problem..

    I went to an Ear, Nose , throat dr this week also.. and I have to have my tonsils out.. I am 37.. he said it will be harder for me.. than if I was younger.. he said I will loose about 10 pounds.. that is fine.. I will be on liquid diet again..

    your story about the panties is funny.. LOL... I have sort of done that as well.. the other day my 6 year old son and I were out shopping and my son said.. " mommy you are getting thin.. I looked to find you and I did not recognize you" I loved it..

    Has anyone else started noticing this.. I don't know if I am being parnoid or not.. I think my hair is coming out more.. again it may be that I am paranoid.. I want to get mine cut and colored.. but I wanted to wait to see what happens with my hair first.. My hair is also long.. but if it gets thinned out.. then I may wait to get it cut..


  12. I know what you all mean.. I was stuck a pound here and there ..up and down.. well I went for my fill..and it pushed me down 5 ponds in a weekend.. I now need to remember the opening is smaller so I am fuller longer.. I have had a hard time with food.. I got filled Friday night.. so Sunday was my first"meal" and that was ok.. lst night was another story.. I was PBing several time..finally it was ok..and tonight was close..but I didn't..I have to remember..SMALLER PORTIONS.. and slow down..and CHEW, CHEw....

    Like my Dr told me.. this band is a tool ..and how I use that tool is up to me... If I want to eat DQ or Cookie Dough that is fine but I will not see the same results if I would make smart choices.. this is a new life..and I already messed it up (weight wise) once.. I do not want to do it again.. I have been to the gym 5 days a week.. and I have tried to watch my calories and what I eat.. dropped the junk food ( or replaced it with 100 calorie snack packs) If I want something sweet, I go for the Jello, applesauce.. don't get me wrong I have had the bite size snickers.. but then I ask my self why did I do that.. (especially around that time of the month)


  13. Well I went to the gym yesterday and today..did cardio classes for 40 minutes..and then back to work(do it during my lunch) and then eat a lean pocket at my desk.. and I feel better.. I go to the Dr tomorrow morning..so I hope he does a fill.. I am not eatting as much as I used to ... but more than I think I should.. If I eat a small prtion.. (1/2 cup to 1 cup size ) I still feel hungry afterwards.. so I eat a little more.. Do you think I need a fill..or am I eatting too fast that my head is still hungry.. when I am done eatting.. I am not hongry for hours later. to the point that I pass my Snacks because I am not hungry for those in between meals. I think I need a fill.

    This week has been PMS week ( skip this pat Jim Boss) so I have had the little snack bits of 3 muskateer candy bars.. I had 3 today..and 3 yesterday.. I needed chocolate.. it is smaller than a full candy bar... right!?!?!?! so I am still ok..

    I am still at 7 pounds for the valentines challenge.. we still have a couple weeks ..we can do it.. :rolleyes:

  15. I go see my dr on Friday.... I see him every 4-6 weeks.. the last time I got a fill was November 9th... so it has been some time.. I went thru the holidays..and my birthday celebrations...

    I was on antibiotics for 10 days.. and then decongestioniant.. and eye drops because I also got pink eye.

    Listen girl, it's tough not to get discouraged sometimes. Lord knows I do. But go back and re-read some of your posts! Including the ones you've directed to me! You'll make it darlin'. Just heed your own advice, and that given by all of us that really do care (and we do!). Great Balls of Fire girl! Get up in the morning with a renewed attitude and believe that nothing is going to stop you from meeting your goals. And remember, Shirley is right. 1 to 1 1/2 pounds a week is normal, but don't get discouraged if you don't see it every week. Just stay focused young lady! Old Jimboss is telling you to. We all love ya and are here for you.

    Jimboss... you are such an inspiration... I look at this site at night.. get inspired and motivated.. and then pack my lunch...(within our limits being banded..) and then I go to work.. still motivated..and then some days I make it to the gym..but I have been ill.. so it is like starting over.. I went for 3 weeks straight..5 days a week.. I did cardio classes.. and then if I do not go to the gym.. my motivation is down..and by the time I get home from work..motivation is gone.. and then I start over..

    I need something at work to motivate me..


  17. Crispygal.... "I've been sick almost the entire month of January and think I have bronchitis because I can not stop coughing to save my life. I'm off to the doctors tomorrow morning to get on some meds!"

    I know what you mean.. I want to work out..but I have not been able to.. I have had bronchitis.. sinus infection with pink eye.. so this month has not been my month.. I know when I go to the Dr for a fill I am going to be disappointment.. I don't think I have lost anything since my last dr appointment.. (which he did not do a fill since I was losing weight like I should.. )
