Well AF has left and she took her piunds with her.!!!! 4 lbs gone.. I feel better.. I have not seen these numbers in a long time.... a small win:scared: .. I also tried on a pair of jeans that I have not fit into in a while.. so I am also loosing inches... Buckeye5.. yes I live just outside of Columbus..in Reynoldsburg.. Where do you live?? My daughter and I might go to Jeffersonville today to do some walking and be outside since it is nice... and maybe shop :biggrin1:

Hello.. I have not posted in a while.. I was down on myself because I stopped loosing...well AF is here.. so We will see in a couple days..I am still on liquids.. I have to be on them for 3 weeks...and then 2 weeks mushies.. and then 1 week soft... I can not wait.. I can eat real food on Thanksgiving!!!!:clap2: ... But I will use a small plate and baby fork and spoon.. I went to my Dr for my 2 week check up and my incisions look good. I have lost some weight..but not like I wanted..My Dr is going to keep me off for 4 weeks.. I feel bad because some of you have gone back to work in 2 days.. my work said it was ok.. so I am going to take it.. time for me and time to spend with my kids.. I need to heal emotionally too.. not be stressed because I will when I get back to work... I have been on liquids now for 2 weeks.. I have until Thursday till I go to mushies... Looking back it has not been too bad.. but when I look back the first week I did not think I was going to make it.. but so far I have

I weighed my self..and I am down 3 pounds from yesterday...:clap2: move ladybug ..move.. Sounds like we are all doing great..Good luck to the people being banded this week... I have my 2 week follow up with my DR this week. My surgeon has me out of work for 4 weeks... that is a long time.. and it sounds like some of you are only out of work for 2 days.. I feel quilty... so I may go back on Nov 1. .... One more week of liquids.... 3 weeks is hard... thank god there is CIB .. I am able to get my protein in with that and a boost of protein..

Boy I am glad I am not the only one.. I was banded on 10/12 and I am to be on liquids fo 3 weeks and then 2 week of mushies... I have to go till next week till then.. I never thought mashed potatoes would be a luxuary.. I am getting tired of broth and sf jello.. I am ready for the next stage so I can get back to regular food. it will be soon.. After I eat a CIB(with added protein) I am not that hungry later.. like yesterday I had 2 CIB with protein and then a SF jello and water..that was it.. However today I am a little hungry I have sipped on broth for the past 2 hours.... However I think that AF is about to arrive:eek: .. I am not sure how those usually cravings (salt and sweets) are going to pass... or even chocolate .. I have maintained my weight for the past 2 days.. I have not lost any .. I try to remain positive..and think that soon as AF gets here and leaves I will see a weight loss. I sure hope so I don't get discouraged.

I did not get a chance to take measurements beofre surgery but I am today..because I can tell I have lost inches at least in the boobs.. when I lay on my side they don't lay on top of each other..LOL!!.. they don't touch now!!! yippeee!!!

OMG!!! I asked if anyone had a virtual model site.. and someone gave me myvirtualmodel.com.... I cried..that is really what I am going to look like... warning.. get the tissues.. I have not seen that image of me for a long time..it motivates me to walk and walk.. and drink and drink ( water that is LOL) everyone should try it.. and then you can do swim suits.. and levi jeans..it was awsome.. THANKS to who ever gave me it..

I found gasx thin strips that you put on your tongue worked great.. I had some gas.. but I did not have the chest pains.. just the bloated feeling..

Sounds like today and tomorrow are big days for several people... Good luck to all.!!! How long has everyone been out of work? and how long are you to wait to drive?? My disability company called yesterday and I am off until November 9th.. that is 4 weeks I would be off. and I am not allowed to drive for 2 weeks!! that is going to be hard.. I have one more week.. I am 1 week post op.. and have lost 10lbs in a week.. not to bad..

I also took my bandages off the next day... I was able to shower so I removed them.. I was told to leave the steri strips on until they fell off..or just about..so I will leave them on for awhile..

I am 6 days post surgery..and my port site is still sensitve.. I was a fool today..and I tried to wear my old jeans.. :omg: PORT SITE!!!!.. so now I am wearing them un buttoned..and a big shirt over top.. I feel human again.. I have been in sweatpants for a week... they are looser than they were .. that is a good sign.. How long is the port usually sore? does anyone know?

Well I am back!!!.. I went for band surgery in April and during my procedure my spleen was nicked and I had to have my spleen removed and no band.:confused: I was devistated.. well I just went back and had my band done. I was just banded 10/12/06. Things seem fine so far. I am still a little sore because I had adhesion the Dr had to pull apart during surgery. but he was able to do the band and do it lapiscopy. :clap2:

10/18/06 Last night was hard.. I made dinner for the family because I wanted to keep up with my normal duties.. and I cried.. it is hard.. but I need to remember this is only a stage.. I will soon be on to the next stage.. only 2 more weeks. I have already lost about 10lbs! I am almost down where eI was in April... My goal is to wear the black dress I did in Chicago for New Years.. and then next year the small black dress I wore the first year John and I went out. I had to go to the grocery store Sunday with the family .. that was very hard.. there was things I used to normally pick up that I did not.. I had my broth and soup.. but soon I will be able to eat things again..

I figured it out on another site..I could not get tickerfactory to work.. now I have a visual so things are in site.. Has anyone ever been to a site that you can put in your vitals and there is an image of what you will look like.. I just want to meet the new me 100 less..

Sounds like the soreness at the port is ok.. I hope it goes away soon.. my other pains have gone away..it is just that one spot... I was on liquid meds for pain.. I have found liquid tylenol that I take if it really bothers me.

Does anyone recently banded have pain where the port is? My other incisions feel fine.. but just one..when I stand I have to hold my port site and I am fine.. the nurses told me that I be sensitive at the port site..I am off pain meds now.. just tylonal..if needed.... but I am happy to be here.. it has been a long jurney... I went for surgery April 24th..and during the surgery the dr pulled too hard on my stomach that my spleen tore and they had to remove my spleen and did not continue with the surgery... so I waited 6 mos..and just got banded last week...finally...

I agree... I remided myself of that.. it is just a small step to the big picture.. I made it through... how do you make the ticker tapes? I have gone to the website and created one..and have the url address but I can not get it in my signature.. it tells me invalid file or url...there are 3 addresses which one do I use.. and do I use the entire address??

I feel kind of old.. I was banded on October 12th... It has been 5 days now.. and so far since my surgery date I have lost 10 lbs!!!!! These 5 days have been hard.. I thought I had the house stocked with stuff for my family (I was nesting) and I did not.. My husband wanted to go to the grocery store.. It was hard to see stuff that I used to eat that I could not.. I did fine.. got more broth and stock.. yogurt..and came home they had pizza and I had broth... yum.. I cooked dinner last night and cried..(I wanted to still do things as I did in the past) . It is not easy these first couple weeks..but I made it through.. my husband came in and finished cooking dinner and I made my soup and had SF jello.. Any one else out there like me .. having a hard time.. ????

I am new to this site... I have been reading the postings and the support everyone has been giving for some time.. Well I need some support.. I have thought about lap band for some time.. went thru all of the pre testing..was approved and scheduled for surgery..went in for surgery ( April 24th) the surgery started out fine but then there was a complication and I started to bleed. My spleen tore during the surgery. My Dr. is the best in the area so I do not think he is the cause of this.(I did my research on him, this was the first case that he has had this happen to) .. he apologized to my hubby and to my family and said it is something that just happened. During surgery they removed my spleen ( you can live without one.. it is for reproducing blood cells and it helps fight off infections) Since this was a major surgery.. I was off work for 6 weeks now I am off work 1 more week.. For the rest of my life I have to watch what I do and who I am around. I have to take flu shot, phenonimona shot and menigitis shots every 3-5 years the rest of my life. I have to use purex gel like crazy.. to make sure I do not get germs from money, doors, getting gas, etc... The Dr did not proceed with the lap band because of the bleeding and he did not want any infection to set in because of the amount of blood. He did tell me I can try again in 2-3 months for surgery.. to allow my body to heal.. My hubby is not happy with the thought of doing it again.. I am about 85% that I want to continue with it.. I went in to have it done.. and had visions of a thinner me.. and now I am back where I started but without an organ...I want to do the lap band, but I have a concern of infection around the port... Is this common? My Dr said he would put me on antibiotics prior to surgery and then after, just to make sure. My Dr has already given me antibiotics now just in case I get the signs of ANY infection or cold like symptoms.. I am still trying to figure out what to do:help:

Thank god for a low out of pocket expense I have to pay.. so with this mess up I have now met that limit.. so if I do decide to do the surgery..It will be free to me!! My concern is not if I am at a greater risk for infection( I am not) but has any one had an infection.. and what are the signs..

Thanks for the support.. I know it is my own decission.. but I am still trying to figure that out.. I am about 85% sure I will do it.. but I am scared of an infection.. that is why I want to see how many people with bands have had any infection.. I have read postings that talked about the port moving.. and pain at their ports.. but was that normal.. or was it an infection?
