  1. Happy 48th Birthday gr8fulmaria!

  2. Hey I saw you had your surgery with dr. Geiss, and I am having mine with him as well. Can you tell me a little about your hospital experience? I'm not sure how to do personal messages yet lol

  3. denouement, don't beat yourself up, but know this....you will be on liquids and soft foods for at least 1 month post op.....have you ever tried the weightwatchers smoothies? they have protein and in the blender with ice they are really good especially the chocolate. good luck

congrat manowar. as for the whole easter thing figure out what you are going to eat, and only sit at the table while you are eating. stay out of the kitchen, and remember why you got the band to begin with. good luck~!~
  6. Craig don't beat yourself up. If it were easy you wouldn't be having the surgery. Do your best. I will say this, you should really try to accept what you are allowed to eat because after surgery you are very limited. You will probably loose about 15lbs by your date. Hang in there, you can do it~!

    Any Long Islanders?

Congrats~!~! I'm glad to hear that you are feeling well. It took me a full 2 weeks to feel better. As far as the protein Weight Watchers shakes have on gram less of protein that those terrible medifast drinks. Give them a try~! they are good. Lcubed oceanside is a bit away, but when the nicer weather comes I would love to walk on the boardwalk in Long Beach.

    Any Long Islanders?

Hi everyone, thanks for all of the well wishes and information.:crying: I am feeling much better but still have pain at the port site.:scared2: there is scare tissue there as well. my first post op appointment was this past monday and they want me to come back in this tuesday. hope it goes well. I have a total gym in my bedroom. finally cleaned it off yesterday.....lol  gonna see what i can do on it this weekend. for those of you who wanted an exersise buddy i am interested, i live in elmont nassau county. let me know:lol:
  9. thanks shelley, back at ya. yeah the pain was way way way worse than they lead me to believe.

  10. I love to chew gum. I was chewing it on the way out of the hospital. DR. and Nurses said it was fine. I too haven't swollowed gum since I was just a tot. I did find out the hard way that chewing gum causes me to swollow air with adds to the already existing problem with the remaining gas in my body. But as soon as I am feeling 100% I'll be chewing once again.
  11. I am 8 days post-op, and i cheated 2 days b4 surgery. I am having more trouble with the post-op liquids because I have been home.....watching tv and most of the comercials are about food. I am hungry and want to eat but shouldn't. so I haven't but I don't know if I will make another week of full liquids. Good luck to you all with your pre-op diets. Hang in there.
  12. Just wanted to say Hi, I saw you on one of the threads and saw that you just had surgery, Congrats! Mine was 2/25/09. It's been a tough journey so far, but it's getting better every day! Walking has helped the gas pains alot for me. I don't really have much hunger yet. The pain after surgery was way worse than I had imagined, but I am getting through and so will you!!! Best wishes!!

  13. I have to say this really bites~!~ when does the pain stop? when does the gas go away? it takes me hours to fell a little decent then it is almost time for bed. I just want to sleep till the pain is over.

    NA'ers?

Hello fellow addicts~!~ When we say this is a world wide fellowship we aren't kidding!! :tongue2: Had my surgery on 2/23/09 day 4 post-op. Taking pain meds. Its been ok. I have have a lot of pain, and gas. Going to my first meeting tonight. I am the chairperson, but I asked someone else to chair for me because I don't feel that it is right for me to chair being on the pain meds. My clean date is 3/4/05. I haven't shared openly about what kind of surgery that I was having, just that I was having surgery. The people in my support group and a few others know what I had done, but I am quite sure that it will be getting out. Some people don't know how to mind there own business. But it is what it is. Today is the first day I am really feeling better. I'm sure taking a shower has a lot to do with it. I wish you all well, happy loosing:thumbup:
