16 days post op..what to eat??
Libbyjane1976 replied to mom24kiddos's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Try carnation instant breakfast. I got fizzled out on the protein shakes by this point and had a hard time getting them down. You could also blend it with ice and strawberries to make a smoothie. it's good. -

Plz Help! 3 1/2 weeks post op and only lost 4kgs
Libbyjane1976 replied to 19Aust's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey I'm in the same boat as you. Once I started on pureed foods my weight loss stopped. It's your body's way of adjusting to being back on real food in there. Hang in there! Once your body gets used to being back on real food again the weight loss will start to happen again! -

Libbyjane1976 replied to banderoo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went into the hospital at 6 a.m. my surgery was scheduled for 7:30, due to the bad weather we had I didn't go in until 9:30, was home by 2. That's even with a hiatal hernia repair. -

OMG too funny. I'm 2 weeks out too and I'm having the same problem as you. I am on mushy foods though. But like you I am craving a salad. Hang in there. Make sure you are drinking your protein shakes. Those help make you feel full. Make sure you eat slow. That helps too. -
problems urinating after surgery????
Libbyjane1976 replied to wintobethin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yea the anesthesologist gives you drugs to dry you up. That's why. Hehe they wouldn't release me from the hospital unless I peed. I finally lied just so i could go home. I didn't urinate for real until 8 hours or so after my surgery. -

Libbyjane1976 replied to Kayla_ann's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first appointment was October 5th and I was banded on January 28th. I had that much of a delay only because of work. It was during an extremely busy time for us. Otherwise I would've been banded sooner. -
Just got banded yesterday

I had people rub my back and pat on my back like a baby. That actually helps to get the air out. I was so uncomfortable for the first couple of days. I'm a side/stomach sleeper so I was miserable at night. Finally about the 3rd night I was able to get on my side a little bit and I was excited by that. You'll get there after a week and you get your staples removed you'll be feeling great. Just try and get up and walk when you can. Walking really helps to get the air out. -

The best thing I did was walk alot. I had people take turns rubbing my back. that helped push the gas out and helped with the shoulder pain. -
Fabulous February Bandsters Unite!
Libbyjane1976 replied to tdteach99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded January 28th so I guess technically I count! I haven't had any problems either. The first few days besides feeling really uncomfortable it was hard for me to drink the protein shakes but they go down alot better now. I got my staples removed last Thursday and I feel great now that they're removed. I finally get to venture to pureed foods this week. I can't wait to get back on real food. -
Good luck to you. I was banded a week and a half ago and I am doing well. My incisions are very small including the big one they made when they repaired my hiatal hernia. It took me about 5 days to feel back to my old self and now I get around just fine.
