    Confession!

lol Wow your PA huh? you go girl! Sounds like he's a flirt. Nothing wrong with harmless flirting.
  2. I can see my weight loss in my face I can see it in my shoulders but I don't see it in my thighs and butt. I still feel like they are the same size as before even though I've lost 76 lbs now and I've gone from a size 26/28 in shirts to a 14/16 and 26/28 in pants to a size 22. I struggle every day with my body issues. I have been overweight every since I was 9 years old. It will be nice when I reach my goal weight and for the first time ever not be considered "over weight". Hopefully then I will be able to see my weight loss.

    Onederland!

Wow! You go girl! You look awesome!!! Congrats to you, you are inspiring!!!
  4. Gonna have to check this out. I have to be careful with chicken. Rotisserie chicken gets stuck for me yet grilled chicken goes down great. Go figure!
  5. Hi Neener!!! WElcome and congrats to getting your surgery date. Good luck especially since the holidays are right around the corner. You are brave getting banded this time of year!! Anyway, my name is Heather, I just turned 33. I'm not married and don't have any kids yet. LibbyJane is my dog and I have a cat named Jake. I got banded on January 28, 2009 and I haven't looked back since. i've learned a new appreciation for exercise in the 9 months i've been banded as well as a new appreciation for fruits and vegetables. I am loving life right now and I am so completely happy!!! Life is great!!!

What if i dont/cant do preop liquid diet?

I know the first few days I was a raving biotch because of the liquid diet. You have to suck it up and do it. It has a purpose and that purpose is to clean up your liver so it's not as fatty so it doesn't get in the way of your surgery. You've made the commitment to have this surgery, now make the commitment and stick to the liquid diet. If you are starving go get some beef broth and have that. That will help keep you full in between Protein shakes. Good luck to you!! Just a side note - your doc may not operate on you if your liver is too fatty.

    R U Kidding me!?!?!

Wow that is crazy! 10 lbs wow. Have your measured yourself? What is your daily calorie count? Are you getting enough calories in for the amount of working out that you are doing?
  8. Oh yea Halloween candy. That's hard to resist. Yea pass out stuff you don't like. Don't stress out over Thanksgiving. If you have good restriction it shouldn't be a problem for ya!

  9. Every year I take my 3 nephews trick or treating. So I'm pretty excited.

I'm not so much nervous about Thanksgiving as I am about Christmas. Christmas there always seems to be more cookies out and I love cookies. I figure Thanksgiving I will fix my plate with my small portions and eat slow. Turkey is pretty healthy for you so it's the extras you gotta be careful of. Just make sure you make a salad to bring to go with it. Or if you like jello, make it with sugar free jello instead. There are so many things we can do to make our Turkey dinners a little more healthy. We always go to my mom's that weekend and way over eat. We end up having these really fattening pies there. I'm just gonna have to tell everyone they can only bring the pies I don't like. If that doesn't work then I will have to bring my walking shoes and bundle up and take a long walk!!!! lol.

  10. Wow 65 lbs!!! You're lookin' good too!!! Isn't it just amazing how great you feel and how happy you are? I know I am! I am down 75 lbs and these last couple of weeks i've been holding steady but I think the scale is getting ready to start moving again. As my doctor puts it you go through phases where you drop the lbs on the scale and phases where you shrink. I'm at the phase where I haven't been too careful what I eat and haven't been able to exercise regularly so that's alot of while my scale stopped but i'm getting back to it! Hopefully I can be down about 8 lbs by the time Thanks giving rolls around. Good luck with your doctor. If you need to switch doc's certainly don't feel bad about it. You gotta look out for yourself!!! Take care!

  11. Hey Carrie!!! How are you? I'm good. Been kinda busy lately. You find another doctor?

    What about alcohol? - seriously.

The band does not restrict liquids.

Things I can do since my lap band...

I can cross my legs comfortably, sit in an airplane seat with the arm rests down on both sides comfortably and the big one is when i'm exercising I can do jumping jacks and jump around. I was too afraid to before.

    Amazing! Congrats to you!!!
  15. Cool. You will like him and his office. He's had it done himself so he knows what he's talking about.

  16. Carrie,

I LOVE my surgeon. He's right at Crooks and Big Beaver. His number is 248-643-4646 and yes it's easy to get appointments. His name is Dr. Gazayerli. Good luck!

  17. I just celebrated 8 months with the lapband and I love it!!!! I am so happy with my results to date.

    ugh...a crappy fat moment

That is so mean and rude. You should've walked up to them and said Hola. Como Esta. Basically enough to get the message across that you heard his rude ass.

Struggling With Some Of The Changes

Michelle make sure you take your Omega 3 vitamins. that is what helps your skin with its elasticity.

    Re-motivated

Think about why you went to this extreme and think about what you wanna look like next bathing suit season!!! My motivations right now are: 1. My best friend is getting married and I am her MOH. 2. My sister is getting this procedure done next month and she will not pass me up!!!! Good luck getting motivated again! You can do it!!!!!

How did you pick your goal weight?

I'm 5"4' so I chose 140 as my goal weight. Initially I chose 125 as my goal weight but I changed it. When I get to 140 lbs I will decide if I feel good at that weight. If not I'll change it depending upon how I feel. I got a ways to go yet so I have a long time to change my mind.

Does this ever happen to you?

Yes the same thing has happened to me. That is because you didn't get to finish eating and are still hungry.
