    Exercise Obsession

19 pounds I lost were pre-op from going on the liquid diet. For some reason my body responded really well to the liquid diet. I was on it for 2 1/2 weeks and prior to that I started watching what I ate. Since I've been banded I eat alot less. Breakfast M - F is Carnation instant breakfast with skim milk, 1 packet and 2 servings of milk. That tides me over until lunch. Lunch is either a sandwich and a piece of fruit or a lean cuisine and a piece of fruit. dinner is whatever I decide to cook. Grilled chicken and steamed veggies (love those steam fresh bags) or whatever else I decide to make for dinner. MOnday through Friday I pretty much eat healthy and stick to everything but come the weekend if I want to have a piece of cake or something I do. I make sure I still eat 3 meals a day at least 2 of them healthy but I definitely don't eat junk food all day anymore. I struggle with every pound I lose and I've only been losing 1-2 lbs a week since I got banded. I've evercise about 2-4 nights a week. Lately i've been doing 3-4 nites a week for an hour long each time. That's all i've been doing.

    Tomorrow is the day !!!!!!

Good luck to you! You will be quite uncomfortable for about 4 days or so but after that you will be on the road to recovery. Congrats on making this life changing decision. I don't regret my decision for 1 minute!

    Exercise Obsession

Thanks! It was funny because prior to this I would've eaten even more and never even thought about exercise and here I am I eat 1 granola bar and half a turkey sandwich and I consider myself as "overeating". Well I guess it's good that I feel the need to exercise. I guess it's a good thing and a good change for me. I don't even recognize the person i'm becoming. It's so funny because I recently cut off my hair too. Well not totally short but a couple inches above my shoulders and and I've never had it that short before. My sister commented that it's not me and I told her well it's the new me!

    Food Obsession

Your obsession with food will go away because you will feel so full after you eat that you won't even be thinking about food. It's amazing. My life used to revolve around food and what I would eat next and now I don't even think about it anymore.

    How Do You Decide?

Hey Kiki. I was in the same position as you. I went with the LP because I want to have kids in a few years. LP is always reversible and if it doesn't work out and you decide later on to get the GB you can.

    being accused of cheating

Way to put her in her place! Ignorant twit! I hate people like that. Obviously she feels threatened by you otherwise she wouldn't of said what she said.

    exercise, economy, and ugh

Welcome to the wonderful world of stay at home exercise dvd's. Okay my routine is like this: I work out 3-4 days a week depending on my schedule. My favorite tapes are P90 not P90X but just P90. They have a level 1-2 of cardio and sculpting and 10 minute abs and there's a level 3 - 4 of cardio and sculpting. I love the cardio tape and I can keep up. Then I'll switch it up and get out my old taebo tape (the basic 20 minute workout) and then follow that one up by doing WAlking away the Pounds. At Target you can get a DVD that contains 5 workouts in 1. So you can mix it up. That is what i do and i've been losing inches like crazy lately. I'm finally starting to get some definition in my arms too which is awesome. Good luck!

3 weeks post op and so depressed

Your weight loss will stall for the time being. at least until you are back on solid foods and your body adjusts then you will start losing again. 3 stalled out for 3 weeks straight.
  10. Wow 80 lbs in 1 year. That is awesome!!! Congrats. At the time you are losing 1-2 lbs a week doesn't seem like much but it sure does add up at the end of the year.
  11. TEll them you are going on the Oprah liquid diet.

    Banded 10/26/2007

Take it 1 day at a time you don't have that much further to go. Just make sure you are eating healthy foods and exercising. Kick up your exercise a notch. Try something new instead of the same ole same ole. Good luck!

    Pre-op Optifast Help!

Stay focused, keep away from temptation. You will be a raving biotch for a few days but you will adjust pretty quickly and you won't feel so hungry all the time and by the time the 2nd week rolls around it will be a breeze.

    Fighting Lap Band

Well then get your butt in gear and get it moving! You are getting closer and closer to your goal.
  18. Just stay focused on your goal. The first few days of my liquid diet I was a complete bitch. It'll get easier as the days go on and by the end of the 2 weeks it won't even both you! You go!

    First Fill

Well all doctors do it differently. My doctor has me lay back, they give me a shot of local anestatic and then after that they do the fill. I feel nothing and I am a major needle phobe. They probably won't fill you very much so you probably won't have much restriction although you will feel fuller a little faster.
  20. Just make sure to watch what you eat, eat healthy and exercise until you get to your sweet spot.

    Banded 3/27

maybe a creamy soup would fill you up better? I had a very hard time with the liquid diet afterwards. I couldn't stomach the protein shakes anymore. try carnation instant breakfast (with skim milk) and maybe blend in some strawberries to make it a bit thicker. Good luck!

Second week post op - boy oh boy

Congrats! I know it wasn't an easy decision to make but think of your band as a tool to help you lose weight. believe me the lap band is not an easy way out. You have to work hard, diet and exercise if you want to see results. good luck!

    Falling apart

Awwww i'm sorry to hear about your loss. I know what it's like to lose a grand parent you were close to. My grandma died when I was 17 and she was the rock of our family and I was devastated. Just remember to cherish the time you had with her and know that she remains with you in spirit. Now as for the other, you didn't come all this way, go through with the decision to get your lapband to fail. You came to succeed. Quit eating the crap food, throw it out, start buying healthier foods. At least if you are going to eat, eat something healthy! Next with your knee being the way it is can you do any light walking? Or maybe like a stationary bike? Join curves if you are too embarassed to join a gym. I don't blame you for feeling that way. i too would not want some skinny ass aerobic chick staring at me either. Do you have a friend who would workout with you? Maybe the 2 of you could figure out something. If you are totally unable to do anything until your knee heals at least make sure you eat healthier. Good luck, things will start to change! You didn't come all this way for nothing!

Not lost weight in a year.

I would have your doctor check your band to make sure it's still good and I would make sure you are eating healthy foods and start taking walks. Good luck to you!
