  1. I was banded in 2007 and lost over 100 pounds. In January I had surgery on my foot and due to in activity I have gained weight back. I would really need help in getting back on track. Please if anyone can help that would be greatly apprieciated!!!
  2. Ok I have to vent here and I know you will understand. When I had my surgery I only told a few people (Husband, my kids and my 2 sisters). I did not want anyone else to know. Now I find out that one of my sisters has a BIG mouth and told people. Needles to say it is out now and I am getting negative feed back. So far I have heard, "I know someone that had the same surgery and they ended up with a really bad infection and almost died 3 months post op", "Why would you put yourself through that? It won't work!!", and this is the best "I know two people that had it done and they turned GREY." What the heck is that supposed to mean. I am not turning GREY. How do I now talk to the "sister" that cannot keep a secret??? I am so right now. I didn't want the negative feed back but I am getting it. I need encouragement not criticism!! I guess you really do find out who you can trust and who you can not.
  3. I lost 11 pounds before the surgery. I has suregry on 5/20. I go back to the Dr this week for my 2nd post op check. I will see how I have lost at that time. Good Luck!!
  4. I have been eating cottage cheese or egg beaters. They both have a lot of protein in them and they are very felling. Also I eat tuna in spring water. Good luck!!!
  5. I was banded on May 20th and every thing seams to be going well. I am now down 15 lbs since the surgery. I am on the mushy stage of foods. I am going to a family wedding this weekend. I haven't told any family members of the surgery. How do I get a way with not eating at the reception without anyone taking notice? The wedding is in the afternoon so I will eat something before I go but it will be a long night with tons of food around. Any suggestions?
  6. I was the same way. I had surgery on May 20th. I only told my husband and kids. For the same reasons. I did tell my sisters that I had surgery but not what type. They both got mad at me for not telling them that I had the surgery until it was 3-5 days after. I still haven't told my mom and I am not going to tell. She likes to tell everyone anything she hears and I would rather not have it posted in the local paper. I hope you are still feeling good. I know it takes time.
  7. Went for the pre-op on Wednesday and the final office weigh in this morning. down 8.5 and still have 6 days to go. I am nervous but excited. I am still attending the pre surgery support meetings and go to my last one on Monday. Good luck to all!!
  8. I am right with you. Mine is scheduled for May 20th. YOOHOO!!
  9. Hi Teri, My Dr required a 6 week class on everything you will go through and need before and after surgery. They recommended a cook book call "Healthy Eating After Weight Loss Surgery". It is great. The book lists things that you can have through each stage of your program. check it out. I have surgery next Wednesday the 20th. Good Luck to you!!!
  10. I started my 2 week liquid diet as well today. Not to bad as of yet. I went for a walk at lunch and that helped. No is the hard part (the weekend at home.) We eat out a lot over the weekends and this will be the test. My surgery is set for May 20th. Good luck to all.!!!
  11. I got my date... May 20th yeah!!!!
  12. Yeah!! Met with the surgeon this morning and I am scheduled for May 20th!! The Dr was really nice and answered all of my questions. Now the liquid diet starts in the morning. I am so ready to start the first day of the rest of my life. Does that make since?
  13. Hi All, I have my consult with the surgeon on Thursday morning I have a few questions to ask but not very many. Should I ask a lot of questions while there? I just don't know what to expect. Any ideas out there that can help? Thanks,
  14. WOW.. the power of support on this site is great!! I just received a call from the surgeon's office and they have schedule my consult for next Thursday morning. Thank you everyone for your support. I needed to know that I wasn't being a brat about this.
  15. Thank you EVERYONE for your support. I so want to tell the Dr about this problem but I am afraid that they will support their staff instead of the paying person. I don't think I am being a B**ch about this but come on.... they started out being a really nice group but I am getting second thoughts here.
