  1. Thank you all for your comments and support! I had an obstruction in my band which means I had eaten something the wrong way I guess and it swelled up and didn't end up going down, so I had a complete unfill and also went to ER, long story. They filled it back up but less than before and I'm way better now but gained 5 lbs since. Just broke up with the boyfriend and stressed that is why I'm eating through it. I know it's wrong. I'm just sad. Things will get better though, I know it.
  2. Well, I figured if it didn't stop that I would call Kaiser back and tell them I needed an unfill, but I don't want to have another Endoscopy at this time. I'm packing and dealing with that right now. I am going to check and see how I feel when I move in with my family to see if some of the stress subsides. I'm losing like 5 lbs a week and it's really great! But I know that I will probably gain the weight back quickly once I'm able to eat again. I probably eat less than 200 calories a day I'm guessing. The weight is just falling off, but I know it's unhealthy this way. I feel a tightness in my chest, but I think I'm just stressed/tense. Sometimes I think I'm not eating little bites and I'm not chewing as much as I need to but I'm not sure. I have to start paying attention. Thanks for all the love and advice.
  3. Hi girls, I just got done with this intensive outpatient program to teach people how to deal with stress and depression and it has helped, and I just saw my therapist this week, but it's not something I feel I can control right now. I'm just dealing with it until I move next week and get situated, I think things will be better. I thought I may need a unfill and called Kaiser and my doc had to refer me to the baratric nurse and they said if things don't get better, they may need to do an endoscopy to make sure the band is in place and not slipped, but some days I can eat, and most days I can't. So, at this point, I'm just going to wait it out and see what happens when I move out and settle in. Financial issues, no car, boyfriend working on car but taking his time and I'm just stressed out to the max but trying to take it easy now and taking my time with the move and packing. Thank you girls.
  4. I'm very stressed out right now in my life, with just getting into a car accident (I'm ok), depression, relationship issues and moving in with my bro and his family to get my life together. On and off, I have anxiety and my band gets tight and I can't hold anything down, tried even ice cream and got stuck and had to stick my finger down my throat to vomit as usual to get the pain out of my chest. I'm losing weight like crazy but not the right way. I was able to eat without getting stuck a few times, when I wasn't stressed. Advice?:bored:

  6. Same here, I haven't lost much since I have not had much restriction since I've been banded. I have lost about 26 lbs and very slow weight loss. Hopefully my 4th fill in 2 weeks will do it.
  7. I lost 2 lbs this weekend. Me and my boyfriend did a lot of walking, we went to a convention center and there was soo much walking and it was soo hot this past weekend! I didn't eat so healthy but didn't eat as much since I was so hot! I hope the weight stays off! I guess working out really makes the hugest difference of all! :crying:
  8. Thank, you, your soooo right! I have been taking it one day at a time and have calmed down since the last post. Thank you for sharing your experience. I made another appt. for next monday for another fill. I feel a slight difference in my eating, but not the way I thought. I still can eat a lot. I feel great to have all of this support from everyone and people telling me their experiences. It has helped ease my anxiety a lot.
  9. Your right. Thank you for the support. I am trying to be patient and take it one day at a time. :crying:
  10. Congrats! You have lost a lot! I'm having a hard time with working out and eating right and have no restriction so far. :crying:
  11. Thank you. I think I will do that.
  12. Hey there, I just got my first fill on monday and I'm a bit upset. I'm getting used to the whole chewing really good so that the food doesn't get stuck in my chest thing, but I still don't have restriction. At least I don't feel like I do. I think I should give it a chance but I am feeling like regretting getting the band instead of the gastric because of the maintanence after. When is a good time for the next fill? Should I give it a chance to set in a few weeks first?

  14. Hey Amy, I only get the stomach aches when I eat too much. Yes, I can eat pretty normal again. Can't wait till the first fill either. I am feeling pretty good/normal.
  15. Wow! Congrats on the 18 pound weight loss! That is great! I need a fill already too. I am hungry a lot.:tt2:

I'm sorry about your insurance telling you to reapply. That must suck! Maybe this is a miracle in disguise. Maybe this was meant to be for a reason. I was supposed to get my first fill 2 weeks ago, but my surgeons office cancelled on me with no reason. I had to reschedule after my docs vacation is over which will be in another week 04-11-09. That's 7 weeks! I was supposed to get my fill at 4 weeks. I am finally over it now, and think maybe this was meant to be for a reason. They say if you have a fill to fast that might not be good for us. So, I let it go. You will get over it too. I wish you luck, I hope your surgeon and insurance respond quickly so you can get your fill.
  20. Hey girl, That is so great you lost so much weight already! Are you eating right and exercising?
  21. Yeah my friend lives in San Diego with her kids now, her husband is in the Marines, so they move a lot. She wants to move back to Round Lake though. They own a home there. Yes, I need to have more patience and start to eat healthier and work out more. Good luck with your fill, mine is in 2 weeks. I can feel the port underneth my skin. If I touch it I can feel it. Sometimes when I get up fast, kinda like a sit up, I can feel it and sometimes it kinda pinces or hurts if I make a fast move like that. Sometimes I don't feel like I had surgery either, except for when I ate bread today and it got stuck in my chest, it went down with time though, had to drink sips of Water. I haven't even had my first fill, and its strange how I'm getting stuck like that, but I guess that means I should not be having it.
  22. Cool thanks. I will check it out.
  23. Yes, I would be interested in attending a support group as well.
  24. I went to Dr. Sergey Lyass in Los Angeles CA. I have had friends that went to Dr. Paya in Glendale and Dr. Davtyan in Glendale CA as well. They are all pretty good docs. My doc is not very friendly, and somewhat rude, so I don't know if I want to recommend him. The surgery went well, so that is the positive about it.
