Stalls are normal, but just be patient and know that you will succeed. I feel amazing now, and love being skinny. It's just a great life, and the sleeve gave it to me.

  3. It shows up on your profile, but to have a pic on your posts, Edit your Avatar. . .

  4. Hi Lucy, I started with my band at 270, the day of my revision 263lbs. I got to goal of 150 in 6.5 months with a loss of 113lbs. I stuck to my guideline and that's what got me to goal. I continued to lose weight down to 120-125lbs until my body finally settled out. I was happy at my 145ish, but I kept losing even though I was eating over 1000 calories. I'm only 5'2" so I being 125ish pounds is a perfect weight for my height even though my husband would prefer I gained some weight. I'm happy with my size at this point. It's taken some time, but I've adjusted really well. If you haven't lost in a few weeks, go back to basics. If you're exercising now, your body may need more calories. Even just 100 calories a day can make a difference. Let me know if I can help you in any way.

  5. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery ! ! !

  6. Yes, I worked out intensely starting around 4ish months out. Due to my complications, I was not allowed to do more than walk the first 4 months. I started a weight lifting regimen, 3 days a week, targeted a different body area, chest, back/shoulders, then extremities, one day of hard cardio, hip hop abs, and majoy ab/core workouts. . . I slacked off at the 8.5 month out point due to gallbladder surgery, and I am just now getting back into working out. More weight lifting, and 2-3 days of cardio. . . No more than 40-60 minutes per day though. I don't overdo it because my social calendar is constantly booked.

  7. You're doing great. Don't give up, and get frustrated. Stalls are normal, just breathe and let the weight come off. Exercise, get your fluids, and stay within your dietary guidelines and you will succeed.

  8. I got it at Sally's beauty supply. It's called Folicure extra care shampoo. You can also buy it on amazon.com if you do not have a Sally's near you. Thank you for the sweet compliments.

  9. I only allow people that are on my friend's list to view my pictures. My photos were stolen from this site and obesityhelp and used without my consent on youtube.com

I'll add you if you'd like to view my pictures.

  11. It's the pH of our stomach is changed by the PPI. I can now eat super spicy stuff, but I had to stick with mild jalapeno peppers, and sauces until I was at about 6 months out. Are you taking a probiotic? If not, I would get on one. Dump it in your protein shake or mix it with some salad dressing that is more of an alkaline base like instead of an acidic based food.

I staying on my PPI. My surgeon and PCP agree that the risks for my age group, and health at this point are extremely minimal. I ate a pop tart last night, and was miserable with my first bout of reflux. I woke up in my sleep coughing up crap. Least to say, pop tarts are off my list. I have no idea why my body rejected it, but I was in misery for a good hour.

  12. Kathy, seriously do NOT allow this idiot to cause you grief. Just ignore him/her, and go on about your day. They aren't worth the energy or emotion you are giving them. Seriously, do not even think you did anything wrong. This happens every time someone posts anything that isn't picture perfect about this program. I'm sorry you're upset, but don't cry over this. You were honest, and gave your experience, and your feelings. You are entitled to your opinion, your feelings, and how you feel should not be negated by anyone. Just let it go, you need support, you need to focus on your recovery, and do not allow this person or anyone else detour recovery and sleeve journey. Your post was not offensive, nor false.

  13. Thank y'all bunches ! ! ! I started spray tanning again, and think I've figured it out LOL.

  14. Don't leave Kathy. Don't let them bully you into leaving VST. It's ridiculous, you did nothing wrong, you need to stay here for support. Just ignore the jackasses and move on. I promise they just aren't worth it, and you're going to run into idiots on all forums, not just here. If you insist on leaving, then so be it, but what does that solve? NOTHING. It simply gives them a "one up" because now you won't be able to be reached if someone else has similar issues. Please reconsider Kathy.

  15. I have my facebook unsearchable, but you can shoot me a message on how to find you, or with your email and I'll find ya on there.

  16. Thank you for your kind words. Please do keep in touch and if you need anything, feel free to contact me. I'll add you as a friend, you can see my photos and blog. I blog on another site now, but this one on here has much of my first several months updates, and most of my recovery and thoughts during the beginning.

Congrats on approval, you'll love the sleeve.

  17. Tell your daughter I said hello, and hope she is doing well.

  18. Thank you Deb. I've considered writing a book several times. You can actually read my public life blog at this site. It's not just about surgery, but my life in general, and some of my poetry.

Unraveled Apron Strings In My Pink Stilettos

I just started it a couple of weeks ago so it's a work in progress. Feel free to read and comment.

  19. I sent you a private message with pictures of my sleeve. If you need anything else, please feel free to contact me.

  20. Thank you. I've sent you a friend request so you can view my pictures and blog.

  21. Thank you so very much. I meant to email you because I ordered an audio book called "intro to meditation" it's an hour long, and I found it quite relaxing. I know your job is demanding, and you travel a lot. This might help you destress and combat some of these food triggers that we seem to share when it comes to stress. Let me know and I'll ship it out to you sometime next week if you'd like.

  22. Was it the Dr. Aceves post op instructions and diet? If so it's under the post-op diet forum, and it says Dr. Aceves information, posted by VegasAngel.

  23. My husband is active duty Air Force. We have Tricare Prime, and my revision was performed at a military hospital. Tricare covers the VSG only at military hospitals that are performing the sleeves. If I could not have found a military hospital that did sleeves, I would not have been approved. I jumped hoops, and fought for the revision. They just wanted to replace my band, and I refused it saying if they wouldn't approve it, they could take my band out, and take the risk of my stomach being screwed up from the band, and having to fix that problem.

    Hope that helps.
