  1. I took 3 weeks off because I have a bendy and twisty job and ended up really hurting my left side and needed 4 more weeks of extreme pain and many painkillers before I could go back. However long you take, just make sure you are strong and well before or you could do some seriously painful damage!
  2. I am 3 weeks out and I am only starting to feel human again. I had a really really rough first few days and was in all sorts of pain. Then 2 weeks out I felt great! I went back to work and must have pulled something on my left side because I have been practically bed ridden for the last week! But then today I woke up and felt a million dollars (well maybe a few thousand). I still have to have a nana nap when I come from work and I feel like I am eating all day trying to get all this Protein in 2oz lots, but have had not vomiting etc. I felt REALLY bad until I started getting in my fluids, and it made a WORLD of difference!!! Im feeling really positive though because the scales are saying things I could have only dreamed about! Hang in there, everything worth fighting for is hard!
  3. I HAVE!! I truly though I was going crazy. I felt like something was stuck in my throat. I was convinced I had a pill or something stuck in there. I would swallow and the liquid would just sit in that spot for a second and then carry on going? It drove me CRAZY! I had it for 3 days and then one day it just vanished! There is hope!
  4. Hey! I was on the 15th too and got sooo worked up over everything I even wrote a "OMG IM SOOOOO DYING" post here....so I totally understand your pain. Its a funny thing that when you are not well, you cant really ever imagine getting any better. But you will...i promise. I have started to embrace the burping too, it often relieves the uncomfortable pressure. I am even getting pretty good at burping out the excess gas before it gets to my stomach! Haha thats a skill for my CV!! Walking has saved my life. When the pain/gas was really bad I was on a sort of roster with the TV Ad breaks: First break 3 sips Powerade, 2nd break walk around, 3rd break 3 sips Protein, 4th break walk around. It sound pathetic but it really kept me going, and kept things going in to me!! But all you probably want to hear is EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE! Be strong
  5. June 15th! Went in on April 6th to have it done but was allergic to the muscle relaxant they gave me and went into anaphalactic shock and was in ICU for a week and off work for three more! So this is the second time I have to do this terrible liquid diet (Day 3-ahhhhhhh) and Im struggling! Plus I am sooo nervous but I didnt want to be a victim so rescheduled straight away! My blessings and safe wishes to everyone!!
  6. Day 5 of my gruelling 2 week pre-op diet and I have to admit I really do feel fantastic! With all the Water I have been drinking my skin looks great, and now that both my cigarette and coffee withdrawal symptoms are fading its all become very easy and routine! I owe it all to herbal tea and sugar free lollies. I did have a moment the other day where I thought ?This isn?t so hard! Why don?t I just carry on this diet for a while to lose this weight? Do I really need surgery??. . Then last night I sat watching TV and the advertising just GOT TO ME! All I could think about was all the delicious foods I couldn?t eat, that everyone else could eat, that were waiting for me in my pantry, YELLING MY NAME!! I ended up eating a few mouthfuls of chicken and then felt pretty guilty about it! I do need this surgery! food will always be appealing, it will always only be a car drive away and I will always feel guilty about eating it. Some people do not; I am not one of those people! So all my doubts and fears are gone and Im so excited for my surgery! I already feel a bit slimmer, I think I am less bloated. I just wanted to share that in case someone out there was having the same doubts as me. We are all good at so many things, why beat ourselves up because we aren?t that fantastic at ?food????
  7. Aww how do I get the ticker factory things to work???
  8. Hey Trish and other sleevers! I asked my surgeon and he said he had done 56 sleeves so far (no alot) but had done hundreds of Lap-bands and gastric bypasses (which must be way harder) and sleeves are a fairly new thing so I wasn't too worried... My op is on the 6th April and I start the Optifast fortnight soon. Im super excited but Im pretty scared. Am I doing the right thing? Have I tried hard enough to lose it the normal way? You know the usual stuff I am sure. But I keep on coming back to the fact that I really have abused my body to the point that a diet and a gym membership isn't going to crack it anymore. Is anyone due around that time? Jo
