Not really LOL. But, I will say that watermelon was a god-send. I swear, I was in heaven for those 5 little bites of watermelon once I was able to have it.

    What's on your mind?

I was so happy to put on a pair of denim, zip up, crop pants today. I haven't been able to wear regular clothes because of where the drains were placed, but today I was able to wear regular clothes. YAY I added 2 new pictures to my album on here. 55lbs gone forever, and I finally have a waist ! ! ! I am so excited. I'm only 8 pounds away from my first goal.

    What's on your mind?

He's in Afghanistan, and has been for over 4 months. He's active duty Air Force. We've been together for over 3 years, but this is our first deployment. Comm has been down for 3 days now, and I'm just sick of it. I've done amazing for these last 4 months, but I'm at the point where I want my husband home, and I want him home NOW. I feel like I'm throwing a temper tantrum LOL.

    What's on your mind?

He should be home by the end of September. We're both hoping these last 2 months fly by. . .
  7. I am taking 2 children's chewable with Iron everyday. Once this bottle is gone, I'll be switching back to the GNC chewables. I haven't had a problem with the taste of either of these. I'm really sorry you are having trouble with Vitamins. I think Vegas has the solution of mixing them in something that is easy to get down.

    What's on your mind?

I miss my husband terribly today. I had a f/u appointment today, and got great news on my labs. I wanted to share that with him, and all I could do is email him. Also, I really want to have sex. It's been over 4 months at this point, and bottom line, I miss the intimacy. This deployment is causing havoc on my hormones. . .

    RNY now VSG?

I've heard that hunger is just as apparent after RNY as it was before surgery. Also, the pouch stretching is a very common occurrence. If you check out obesityhelp.com on the revision forum, you'll find a lot of RNY patients that are years out looking at revisions because of weight regain. I don't want to try to convince you, or dissuade you from RNY, but I seriously researched my options for 3 years. I chose the LapBand first, had complications and revised to the sleeve 8 months later even though several people tried to convince me to go with RNY.

    Tomorrow is the big day:-)

I will keep you in my prayers tonight that surgery will be successful and you have a quick recovery. . . My thoughts are with you, and you will so be on your way to a healthier and happier lifestyle ! ! !

    RNY now VSG?

The regain stats, and the malabsorption of the RNY completely turned me off of that surgery. I was a band to sleeve revision. I've lost 55lbs in 2 months, I've had some complications, but for the most part, I am doing quite well with my weight loss. I've personally known 3 people who had RNY 5+ years ago, and have gained back most of their weight. I truly love the sleeve restriction. I made good food choices before, but in large quantities. Now, I'm making the same good choices, just in smaller portions. All WLS demand a lifestyle change. The RNY is a good choice for some, but for me personally the sleeve was the best option for my lifestyle. With all the information out there for the sleeve, I think you'll find that the sleeve has a great success rate. With the dumping comes, misery. Your body will adjust to the dumping, so RNY is not a quick fix for bad choices.

    Random Update

So, I had my follow up appointment today. Labs looked great, and the final drain has been removed. I talked to him about the nausea and acid reflux type stuff I have been dealing with this last week every time I ate. He prescribed Prilosec, and Zofran for the nausea since the Phenergan was making me so drowsy. I've taken a Zofran and started the Prilosec when I got home, and I feel fabulous. The last pocket that is in my pelvic cavity is shrinking, but the drain was draining anymore so he removed it. He said that the culture wasn't growing anything so my body should absorb the remaining fluid. The culture came back clear for any bacteria, he said something along the lines of "sterile fluid", so I am hoping for the best. He said if it comes back, they will have to get to transrectally. All my fingers and toes are crossed that it goes away. I'm pretty sure "transrectally" is not a pleasant procedure. For the first time in 2 months, I almost feel normal. I'm hoping that this feeling continues. I've actually been able to eat one of those little packets of colby/cheddar cheese, and I didn't get sick. John will be home in a couple of months, and he freaked out when I sent him a face picture. He said I didn't look like the same woman. I lost 7 pounds this last week, but I think it's because I couldn't eat hardly anything and everything I ate went right through me. I'm getting nervous for his return. I look completely different, I've lost 55lbs total and it's going to be so different when he comes home. He's been working out like crazy and gained 25lbs. He sent me a picture, and may I just say, GOOD LORD, he's gotten so "bulky/buff", I don't know a better word for it. We're going to have a great time when he comes home, and it's going to be like falling in love all over again. We're both beyond ready for this deployment to be over. He's 100% homesick, and is really missing us. Everything else is going well. Caysen starts school in a couple of weeks. I'm going to do a deep cleaning on the house once my energy returns. I'm ready to feel good enough to clean my house. Hope everyone is doing well ! ! !

    Social Networking Sites

I'm on Facebook and Myspace, but don't actively post a lot. Plus, I don't share my WLS journey on line except for here and one other site, but not on Myspace or Facebook. I'm on VegasAngel's page on FB.

    B.C. Pills

Ohhhhhhhh I am so sorry to hear you're having to go through this mess. I stopped mid-pack years ago, and went through the same thing. I was on Yaz as well, I thought I had transformed to something non-human. I hope you start feeling better soon.
  15. I tried scrambled eggs a few days ago, and I was so sick. Eggs and me don't get along well to begin with, but I thought I would give it a try. I'll steer clear of eggs from here on out.

    I'm bad at liquids.

I love Fage greek yogurt. I mix one packet of splenda and it tastes fine. I buy the plain, or the one with the honey that you can mix in. I don't use the honey because of the carbs and calories, but Fage yogurt needs to be sweetened. I've also added a few drops of vanilla extract with the splenda to add flavor. I really like the consistency, and the flavor. I love most yogurts so maybe I'm just weird? ? ?

    How Long Does it Last?

I agree with Susan that once I moved to solid foods, and started a multi-Vitamin, I felt much better. I have my days still, and need to take a nap. I think it's the meds I'm on more than anything else. Have you talked to anyone about supplementing with B12? I know my surgeon suggested that I look into it within the next month or so when I start working out.

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I order my Bare Minerals on ebay and pay 1/3 of the price that you find in Sephora or from them directly. I've ordered from ebay for almost 2 years now, and have never had any issues.
  21. I don't see it either. I'm frugal as well. I can't imagine spending $5-$7 bucks on a 1 pair of panties. . .
  22. Tiffykins

Do we always have to talk about the sleeve?

I typically always wear make-up if I am going outside the home. I wear Bare Minerals foundation and don't ever wash my face before going to bed. I hate my skin. It's red and blotchy, and I love how make-up makes me look "complete" and well put together. I will go out of the house without make-up, but it's only if it's absolutely necessary.

Anyone want to meet in the chat room?

I was so nauseated yesterday. It was by far the worse day of my recovery. I was in bed by 10pm last night, and finally today I feel good. I'm so tired of taking Phenergan, but the antibiotics make me so sick, even when I eat something. I broke down and ate some greek yogurt today because my stomach just needed it. I just have a few more days on antibiotics, and hope I can make it through. I'm sick of being sick.
  25. I know I've been MIA for quite a bit so I wanted to update everyone as to what's been going on in my part of the world. July 3rd Caysen came home from being with my family during my recovery. My younger brother and best friend spent a week with us. We had such a great time. I took them to the marine show (like a mini- SeaWorld), and of course to the beach. We did a lot of hanging out at the house because the weather was nasty. Well, on July9th, I had a follow up appointment and the beginnings of a UTI was detected. I started Levaquin that night, and progressively became more ill. By Saturday morning around 4am, I was in gut wrenching pain. I toughed it out because I thought it was gas, a bit of dehydration, and the UTI. I couldn't handle the pain anymore on Monday morning and went to see my surgeon. They did a cat scan and found 2 Fluid pockets/abscesses in my abdominal cavity, and 1 in my pelvic cavity. Lovely remnant bacteria from the leak, and I was admitted Monday afternoon. I had to be transported to an interventionalist radiologist so they could place drains in these pockets. The one in my pelvic cavity is too "deep" for them to get to, but it appears that it is draining into the other drain. I was released this last Monday and have been home recoverying. I went back today for a follow up, and one of the fluid pockets is gone so I was able to have 1 of the drains removed. I'm on a full diet now, and can eat whatever I want. My nutriotion isn't doing so great, and I have to up my Protein, but the liquid Protein supplements are running right through me. So, I've been instructed to eat 4 small meals a day and to get 15gr of protein in each meal. Biggest issue is at this point is that I can't eat dairy while on one of the antibiotics. Sorry, I haven't been on, I've been lurking the last few days, but my mind and spirit just hasn't been into posting. I'll work on getting caught up these next couple of days. Thank you all for your continued thoughts, prayers, and support ! ! !
