6 days post op and I have one incision that is painful - the biggest one. I hope it heals in the next couple of days. Have not had much weight loss this past week which is disappointing. I'm getting 80+ grams of Protein a day and an ounce of Fluid every 15 minutes I'm awake, but I feel hungry most of the day. Hoping my stomach was made small enough! Keeping positive and increasing my steps every day, so keep your fingers crossed.

gabybab got a reaction from Lamermaid in I originally posted this in the wrong area... But my question is about crushing pills.
I have 2 weeks left and I'm definitely going to take capsules after that. I take Bariatric Fusion, the orange flavor with Iron. The iron in it is what makes it taste so bad. Just gross! I'm going to beg to go to pills. I don't see why I couldn't, tons of people here start pills immediately!

My nutritionist suggested not doing puree at all, just soft foods. She said doing puree won't train you to chew sufficiently for when you progress to the next stage. This stage has been very easy as far as meals but I went through a period of not being able to tolerate Water or Protein. No matter how small the sip, water would feel like it wasn't going down and I had a very uncomfortable feeling in my stomach. Even my flavor add ins didn't smooth the water texture and my taste buds did something crazy and I couldn't stand the taste of ANY Protein Drinks. I made so many different recipes, took one taste and poured it out. I have found an unflavored that I can finally tolerate with orange juice and tons of ice. I'm concerned that I've yet to reach my water or protein goals and i'm now 5 weeks out. I went through a full week of extreme fatigue that I couldn't shake but I looked at my discharge paper work that stated fatigue in weeks 2-4 was normal. Today I finally got in 36ozs of water but only about 20oz protein. I feel like there's not enough time in a day or room in my pouch to consume enough.

I had surgery 8 days ago and it was pretty rough, however most of the pain is gone and I've lost 28 pounds with my pre-op diet. You can tell in my face already and I'm shopping this morning for some new clothes.
So excited for you! Big changes coming!
When is your surgery? Best wishes!

Sometimes I feel like I’m just eating too much but with the pre op diet and the liquid diet after I’m just craving tasting everything again.... on a much smaller scale

I'm making green tacos tomorrow. My son-in-law is Mexican, so they eat a lot of the food. Not sure if you like green sauce? It's made with chicken.
Also, chili is a good high Protein choice and it blends good.

I’ve been pretty discouraged by my lack of weight loss following gastric sleeve surgery. I’m just shy of being three weeks out and have only lost 9lbs despite following the program exactly as instructed. Took my measurements today and I have to say this lifted my spirits. I may only be down 9lbs but I’ve lost 27 inches total! Absolutely incredible. I’ve never been able to accomplish this before in my life with all the yo yo dieting I put myself through. If there’s anyone out there feeling disappointed with your journey, don’t give up hope! Thought I’d share and hopefully lift someone else’s spirits too.

  12. Congrats!

Tomorrow is the big day for us schedule for March 12. I go in at 5:30 am for a 7:30 am surgery time. I'm only slightly nervous. Feeling mostly content with my decision and ready to get this done and start recovery. I've lost a total of about 53 pounds, 40 on the 6-month supervised diet and about 13 (I think) on the two-week liver shrink diet. My tummy got smaller so hopefully that's because my liver shrank as it should have. I should have about 105 to 110 pounds to lose after surgery to get to my ultimate goal. I'll try to update at some point after the surgery.
Good luck and best wishes to all having surgery tomorrow. Here's to a new life of living instead of watching it pass us by. Update here, as you are able.

I'll be two weeks out of surgery Wednesday. No problems getting fluids and the diet. However like others I am exhausted most of the time. I've gone to placing a few lawn chairs around the yard so I have a place to sit if I need to. I have been walking the dog about may be half a mile each day but exhausted when I return home. Actually let me correct that, the dog drags me for the walk!

I'm 2 weeks post-op today and am already scared. The first week after I thought I would never eat, now I feel opposite, I can eat 1/2 cup of food and I'm afraid I will revert to my old habits. I'm going to my first support meeting tomorrow. Best wishes!

Honestly if it weren’t for milk, I wouldn’t even come close to Protein goals. I plan on drinking 2 glasses daily until my stomach can hold enough food to get my protein goals met.
