  2. they run specials on monday i think where u get 80% off, you enter a code they give you and you get the 25 dollar ones for 2 bucks...
  3. Good Luck Tex, I was banded in 6/08 and my doc approached me about switching to the sleeve also, i lost 104 lbs but then had a prolapse and gained 40 back even after the revision so last month on 11/1 I was converted to sleeve and have no regrets at all. i ve lost 12 lbs and i dont have that stuck feeling anymore, i can eat like a normal person now without all the drama of looking for the nearest bathroom at the restaurant. good luck on whatever you decided, and let us know, there is a wealth of information and support here, take advantage of it.....vicki:)
  4. I know that has got to be very frustrating.... Where is everybody???
  5. I too am hungry every 2 hours, and i went to my doc today and he said its because we're not eating alot and so we are hungry faster, he also said our stomach's empty faster after the surgery. I can eat about a cup of food, will start reg food tomorrow (41/2 weeks post op) and we will see how that goes...I dont know about rollerderby after 2 weeks, i could barely go grocery shopping...lol
  6. Thanks Lil for all your help, hopefully they will put me back on the PPI today. Take care, vicki
  7. Yay, i finally got back on!!! Hello everyone, hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving. going to dr H. tomorrow for my second appt since the sleeve. Want to congratulate Yvette on her surg. date and also to NBflo girl who is awaiting clearance from her insurance...You go girls....lol
  8. thanks Mommy, is cottage cheese or chicken salad, egg salad considered dense protien? is that why i could be hungry every 2 hrs
  9. Very excited for you Roger, i also was sleeved on 11/1, and i am only down 12 lbs, so hurray for you. i hope you continue to feel better and better...take care, vicki
  10. Congrats Lisa, I know that honeymoon feeling, it's like after you deliver your babies, you feel a little beat up but excited at the same time, it sounds like you have all your bases covered. good luck to you and keep us all posted......take care, vicki
  11. Thanks everyone, i talked to my NUT today she said my protien level is excellent and to drop the 300 cal protien shake and start introducing veggies, so i hope that also helps, i have an appt with my surg tomorrow and hopefully he will put me back on my PPI, i feel hungry about every 2 hours, is that normal, and i can eat about a cup of food, isn't that alot...im not sure what normal is anymore, i will be 5 weeks post op on mon. thanks for all your support, vicki
  12. My doc says he removed 80% and uses a 34-36 bougie. have no idea how much that is in oz of stomach left.??
  13. am 4 1/2 weeks post op and ive only lost 12 lbs and 2 were just this week, so i went 3 weeks without losing anything. but i dont puke or have pain, so i definitely would call your doc. good luck and keep us posted....vicki

  15. I would love a copy of this if its not too much trouble...thanx so much, it was very informative...vicki vslawich@gmail.com thanks again

  17. My drain was on the left side, and after i had it removed i had discomfort for several days, my doc says my body was rejecting the plastic tubing because it was a forign body and it was irritated inside, it finally went away. i would say that if it gets worse or you develop any other sign of a leak, then contact your doctor immediately.....feel better, vicki
  18. Thanks Dr G, for all the info you have supplied, if we never get 100% strength back, is there any way that our staple line can ever break in the future? It is really scary to know that there is such a long staple line that is weak now. Also, how long do i have to worry about a leak, my doctor says 3 weeks? thanks again, vicki
  19. I have the EAS myoplex and i got where i couldn't stand one more sip, so i bought the magic bullet or a blender if you have one, and i add crushed ice a tablspoon of Peanut Butter or 1/2 banana or both LOl and it changes the taste completely and the texture, its like a chocolate milk shake..yummy. i also take the banana's and cut them in half and put them in the freezer in a freezer bag and they keep fresh dont turn color and when you make your smoothie it makes it cold and frothy...try it, i bet you'll like it......vicki
  20. I hate writing this, i know i sound like a complainer, but i cant help it. I was sleeved 3 weeks ago, and i lost 10 lbs the 1st week, then 1lb the second week and now i have gained 3 the third week. I started mushies tonight waiting for the brick in the sleeve feeling and it never happened. what is wrong with me. i see people losing so much so fast, and i am gaining wt.. I know my protien is up and my carbs are down and my clear fluids are up cause i can drink endless amts of fluid now. could it be my doctor did this wrong?. I am so worried that i went thru this for nothing... sorry, dont mean to complain, vicki
  21. I am right here with you lisa, i was sleeved on 11/1, and i must have been dillusional too, because i have only lost 8 lbs, actually 11, but gained 3 back. ugh....i started mushies tonight, thinking it would hit my sleeve like a brick and i would finally feel the restriction i have been anticipating, but no, i kept taking bite after bite till it was gone and nothing, i am able to drink endless amts now and the mushies didn't have a big impact. doesnt seem real to me either.....good luck, hope we both find the reality most have posted on here soon....vicki
  22. Val, i've been looking for a book, can you share what it is and where you got it...thanks!
  23. really? well, from what i read on the other sites, even if they're not losing like they wanted they switched. Unless it depends on the Dr and what he tells the Ins. co.. Anyway, most of what i read about band to sleeves, it was one or the other, problems like ours "prolapse" recurrent heartburn etc. and others just werent losing as they should after X amount of time. I really dont know what the perameters are, i guess whomever is interested will have to talk to the doc...
  24. Hey Rain, i was wondering why you havent been around, I don't see why not, as long as your insurance will cover, when is your next appt.? tell him your interested and i'm sure he will do all he can to get you started... the baby is soooooo cute and getting soooo big....he does look like you now that he is getting a little bigger i can see it. How are you doing? Keep in touch with us here, take care. vicki
