I am being resleeved for a neofundus....I am actually try to do diet teas without aspartame or caffiene, not an easy thing to find, maybe i can brew some decaf and add sweetener...what is suppose to be the safest sweetener at the current? I am not looking for carbantion, although they told me and others who post it does not affect the sleeve...Not sure what to believe anymore....

I am about to be resleeved on aug 1st, I have to stop drinking diet pepsi, and i want something with out aspartame, only problem is I cant find it....please dont tell me water lol...I hate water...i bought crystal lite and arizona tea and snapple...they all have aspartame!...any suggestion so very welcome...thank you sooo much....

I too am a diet pepsi freak, i've been drinking it since I was a teenager, first thing in the morning and last thing at nite, I did give it up for 3 yrs with the band and then when I got sleeved, a girl got a bezoar and she researched and read that diet colas would dissolve them, soooo I had an excuse, was scared of getting a bezoar, so i started drinking it again...what a mistake that was...Now i am scheduled to have a sleeve revision on 8/1, and i have to come off again after drinking it for 3 ys...ugh...I like arizona diet tea..but will miss the fizz!!

Is there really such thing?

Does anyone know what size bougie their docs used to make their sleeve? my doc is using a 38french and i know from research that some are using 32 fr...Im wondering if I will be able to lose wt. with a sleeve this big? any feedback is welcome...thanks vicki

The sleeve is so new in the medical world that they really dont know any long term complications..we are all guinea pigs unfortunately...

thanks everyone, I will keep you all posted as I go...I love his honesty too...he said I was about his 3rd, I knew he hadnt done many, he said I had scar tissue from the band...He was scared of hurting me and left a little more fundus than he wanted to...He said he has mastered that with practice and is confident he can fix it now...he did a CT scan of the abdomen when i told him about this lump that goes up and down and at that time it did not show a hernia..he has never witnessed it happen and his gut feeling was that the mesh is causing the problem because it is near where the port was...he said there may be a hernia that did not show up and he will know more when he goes in...he told me he only had 1 leak about a yr ago....He also said that is what is causing me so much reflux, because there is a pouch at the fundus and it is collecting food...he said when he scoped me he knew right away what the problem was....he really is sweet...and respected by his peers and his patients....Im just really nervous because ive had other surgeries, and its never a perfect outcome...

He said he does 150 a yr so about 450 - 500 since my surg...he said he is very good at it now and I have a neofundus...so surg is scheduled for aug 1st

Lynda, i did look up your link to neofundus...that is why i went in to see him, because my reflux is so bad...hopefully I will know more tomorrow, im gonna ask for a barium swallow...

what is encarcerated? you guys are scaring me...I see him tomorrow....this sucks....

Im not sure about the insurance, he did the sleeve free...LOL...i shoulda known....sorry about the underline...

I live in Buffalo Ny..there r a couple more docs that do the sleeve, but they all started at the same time...

yeah, i think your right....I'm not comfortable right now....he is head of bariatrics and GI....? not sure what to do at this point...

he did very well with the band...i lost 108 lbs and then it prolapsed, he started to do the sleeve, I was probably one of the first 5...

no, the he band was taken out, but he put mesh in where he took out took the port so i wouldnt get a hernia...he thinks my body is rejecting the mesh....I dont know what to do anymore...there are no otsher drs in this area..he says he has done 150 since mine....I wish i could talk to someone who may have gone thru this....maybe I shouldnt do it...
