Why can I still eat alot????

I was banded three weeks ago and feel the same way. I was told by the Doc, after the swelling goes down, some faster than others, that I am wide open to the larger part of my stomach. He said after the first fill I would feel some restriction. Cuz, Im hungry too! Hang in there!! Let me know if you have gotten your first fill. Mine isn't till the 17th!

Just banded and have alot of ?s

Good to hear***My first fill is on 2/17!!! My Doc said after the swelling went down we are pretty close to normal, until our first fill. Thanks for sharing!! Let me know how your first fill goes.
  4. I was banded two weeks ago. I felt like crap days 2-3. I was sick to my stomach and finally slept for almost 24 hours straight. Went to work one day too early, finally left and went back to bed. I woke up day six feeling like my old self again! But...Im hungry! The soft foods are going down fine, choosing only healthy ones! I have been eating 3-4 hours, waiting two, then drinking water. I have had zero problems with the food and can easily eat a cup of food -- No pressure or pain. Is this normal? I see my Dr. tomorrow. i have lost 17 lbs so far - 11 lbs pre surgery. My weight has been at a stand still last couple of days. Just want it to fall off! I'm eating so healthy. Can't wait for the first fill! Looking forward to being slim and healthy this year!!!

stomach feels like it is on fire

How do you know if your band has slipped? Does that happen often? I have a really bad burning sensation if I move the wrong way or bend. It is not near an incision, it this just a nerve, that needs to heal? I am three weeks post op. No fever, everything else is great. All my incisions have healed great.

stomach feels like it is on fire

How do you know if your band has slipped? How long have you had your band in?
  7. I have a nerve or something at least 5 inches from any incision, that if I bend or move the wrong way, feels like someone is holding a candle flame to my stomach!!! OUCH! It's hard to pick things up off the floor or move the wrong way. I was gonna mention it to the doc at 2 weeks post op, but it seemed to be calming down, but now it's HOT again! Any similar stories or pain. I am three weeks post op.:w00t:

    Am I Okay????

I'm 3 weeks post op...Feel great. I saw my doc this week. Worked out today...Felt good. But I am hungry and everthing goes down just fine. So, I am sticking to soft foods, like soft fish, pasta, cottage cheese, eggs, etc. But I can eat bread and chunky soup....Is that normal? Am I just a fast healer or am I messing things up???? Let me know??

Losing too much weight - for me

Good problem to have for once!?! Try lifting weights and building more muscle mass. It's good weight to gain. Or how about adding powdered protein to your meals, just sprinke it on. It has calories and will build muscle. You can find it at any health/nutrition store.

Ditterences in Food Stages Time Frame

I did clear liquids for days 2-5. That was aweful. Felt week and gross. Days 6-8 full liquids, protein shakes, soup with milk etc... Now soft foods, but I think i'm not completely sticking to all of the rules and it scares me. Too many foods go down no problem....HELP!

I was banded on the 15th of January. I am hungry too! My Doc and other's have said once the swelling goes down and without a fill we are wide open. I get filled on 2/17. Hopefully that will help! No pain around my port, but I have a nerve 5 inches from any incision that feels like FIRE! OUCH!

    Just Getting Started!

I was banded on Jan. 15th '09. First day or two went well, but by day three I felt like crap! I was weak and sick to my stomach. Finally fell alseep and slept for almost 24 hours. I was back to work by Tuesday the 20th--Too soon I felt like I had a knot under my sterum and was weak. So I left early and went back to bed. The next day I woke up feeling great and I have ever since. Only thing, Im now hungry!!!! I have been trying to eat soft foods every couple of hours and drink two hours after in between meals. The food is going down fine, no pain, no pressure...nothing at all like I have read--Is it really in there? I can easily eat a cup of soft foods no problem. I see my doctor tomorrow. Any insight? Let me know -- not sure what other's have experienced. Im down 17lbs -- 11lbs pre surgery -- Seems like my weight loss has haulted. Im eating so healthy, I guess I want it all to fall off! Can't wait to get my first fill!

    Question about amount of food

Yeah, I'd steer clear of the cornbread this early on. If you hungry eat lots of small meals instead on one big meal. I hear until a fill it all slides DOWN!
