    Cancer/chemo and lap-band?

Oh my goodness. I'm so sorry. I just want you to know that I'm thinking of you and have good wishes heading your way. Please let us know how you're doing, okay?

I may have gall baldder troubles.

Exactly the same here! I dieted my buns off a few years ago and ended up in the emergency room to get my gallbladder out. But, after it was gone-I felt great! Good luck!

    What do you think?

You sound like you're on track to me. Your body is still adjusting and once it gets used to being on regular food again you should see a difference. Good luck and congrats!

    Lap Band Olympics???

OOPS, I feel silly! I thought you were peeing alot. Hmmm, I don't know about diarrehea (however you spell it). I didn't experience this problem. Have you mentioned it to you doctor? Since I didn't have the same issue i don't know if it's OK or not.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Thanks guys! I follow "Eating for Life". It's what my bariatric office uses and it's easy to follow and works! We're ALL awesome!!

    Is THIS NORMAL?

Ahh, that brings back my post-op memories! Yep, I had exactly this feeling too. It gets better once the swelling goes down. I actually enjoyed this phase...hunger does come back then you'll miss this stage too!! As for burping...I swear...it took me 3 months before I learned how to burp again. It's weird, my doctor says that most people just "lose" this ability for awhile. Funny!

    Mean ol' doctor.

I feel kinda ticked about a doctor's appointment I had today at my PCP, not my bariatric doctor's office. You guys are so supportive that I figured it was safe to vent a little! This is the first time I've seen this particular doctor since my band. She asked..."is it working?" and I thought...if you had taken 2 seconds to look at my chart you would have noticed that I'm almost down 100 lbs. But instead I told her "Yes, I really think it's been good for me." THEN...she proceeds to look at me and ask if I was going to have surgery to get rid of my apron. Again, I tried to be nice and said that I was just banded 4 months ago so I don't think it's time to think about it yet. Duh...4 months...give me a chance to succeed before you write me off as needing someone to cut my fat off my body. (I whole-heartedly believe in the apron surgery because I know that for some people it just won't go away regardless of how much weight you lose.) But, I took her comment as...you won't succeed. THEN...she asked if my insurance paid for my band. I said "Yes." She asked "For the whole thing?" Again, I said "Yes." and she practically rolled her eyes as to say "What a waste!" I don't know...I'm frustrated. Darn it...I'm working my butt off at this and she totally acted as if I'm a lost cause. To top it off...she's about my size. Was it jealousy? Was it a misconception about the band? Or, was she just being a b*tch?? Either way, she really put a damper on my day. Thanks for listening!!

    Lap Band Olympics???

Yep, the liquids stage made me feel like all I did all day was drink and pee! But, now that I'm trying to drink at least 64oz of water a day...it's still the same! Hey, it's extra exercise!

    Road to "TWOterville"

Well, I just wanted to share my exciting news...I have hit the 100 pounds mark! I cannot believe it. I never thought it was possible until I started my band journey! Thanks everyone for your support and I hope you're all doing well! We're kind of losing speed on this thread...how's it going?

    Post-op question

I know it's hard but please don't even worry about your weight for the next few weeks. A lot of crazy stuff happens during this stage. My first full month was pretty wasted as far as the scale goes but once my body healed a bit and I got back into a normal eating pattern, things started moving along.

Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

I've been counting down the days until I could joing the club! I have just hit the 100 pound mark...or as I like to say "one supermodel" Ha Ha! YIPPEE!!!

    Hi I'm anew old bandster

Don't get disgusted with yourself! You can get back on track with a little extra work. You've had a lot of stressful stuff happen lately but don't let it ruin your hardwork. As far as finding a fill doctor, I'd suggest looking in the Tennessee thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=63 Good luck!

    What is wrong with this?

You should be fine once your body recovers and gets back to normal. This stage of the game is pretty fickle so don't get discouraged. You sound like you're doing things right and it will pay off soon!

I'll SUCCEED IS ALIVE & BLESSED

You're inspirational! You've made excellent progress with your recovery and we're glad you're back in the saddle!

Am I crazy?? Already Mourning Food!

My experience so far is that my "tastes" have changed. Some of the foods I thought I couldn't live without no longer have the same appeal. Plus, I think of it this way...I've had those old favorites time and time again. I know what they taste like and I know how they make me feel afterward. They're old news. Now, it's time to move on toward finding new, healthier favorites. I agree with the others...everyone has to decide for themselves that they refuse to let food run their lives any longer. As cliche as it sounds, I kinda believe in that old saying "eat to live" not "live to eat".

    Introducing Myself

Good for you! I don't consider this a diet because you're right "diets" never work in the long run. I consider this a lifestyle change and it's pretty rewarding. Congratulations and welcome!
  20. No, I don't feel normal...I feel better than normal! I forget I have a band most days except for the fact that my pants are falling off and I no longer need an afternoon nap!!

    Someone finally noticed!!!!!!

Congrats! That's a great feeling, isn't it? It's not petty...you deserve to feel good about it!

    Costco NSV!

    You go girl! Congratulations!
  23. PB'ing (Productive Burping) When you burp and junk comes with it. NSV (Non Scale Victory) A weightloss success that didn't directly involve the scale.) LBT (Lap Band Talk) This site. VGB (?) I think it stands for another surgery. TOM (Time Of the Month) The monthly visit from aunt Flo. Ha Ha. I hope that helps! Yeah, all the abbreviations can sometimes take awhile to figure out!

Great to be a loser- add your thoughts

*Feeling bones that you knew were inside you but have been hidden for years! *Not worrying about the food selection when planning social gatherings. *Knowing that exercise is NOT going to wipe me out for the rest of the day. *Getting to throw away clothes because they don't fit because they're too big not because I'm like a stuffed sausage in them.
