  1. Happy 44th Birthday mom23gr8boys!

  2. Happy 43rd Birthday mom23gr8boys!

  3. The nurse also told me that it is normal. She said to remember that it's attached to the muscle, so it's gonna be painful...and it's a foreign body, so it's gonna be painful. She said when it gets bad to take liquid Tylenol and use a heating pad. I think the hunger is because there's no restriction for another two weeks! Hang in there y'all...we can do this!
  4. I had my surgery 12 days ago and am starting to be hungry. I also have a new pain around my port. Anyone know if these two things are normal?? Thanks for your help!

    2days Post Op & Nausea

Try to drink very slowly and just throughout the day, get lots of rest and call your surgeon tomorrow. Hang in there! It gets better!!

    Surgical Steri Strips

Thank you! I guess I'll leave them on (don't have post op until 4 weeks out) and use some lotion! Thanks!!
  7. When can the steri strips come off? They are curling up at the ends and driving me nuts! Also, can I use lotion on my belly - it's very itchy!?!

    Banded 1/21/09. Need support.

My surgeon allows me to take chewable Gas X and it really helped the first few days. Walking around and sitting up straight helps a lot too. I'm 8 days post op and feeling better already...hang in there, each day gets better! Find something to do, even come read posts here each time you have that mental hunger, that subsides quickly too. I think we are so used to eating, it's just habit...at least it is for me! - well WAS for me!
  9. Ketosis is when your body isn't getting lots of carbohydrates and calories and starts to use the fat as fuel for energy. It normally takes about 14 days for the body to enter Ketosis, but it can happen sooner. It generally leaves a metallic type taste in your mouth.
