When is it enough of a fill?

I was in the exact same place this morning. I did have a fill today, .6 cc's, which makes somewhere around 5.5 cc's in a 10cc band. My dr told me the morning tightness was normal and to stick with Protein shakes for Breakfast...or try hot tea first to loosen it up, if I must have food. I've been on thick liquids for the rest of today but have not had any problem. I've noticed that it is MUCH tighter but so far not that is causing a problem. Good luck!
  3. Guess I don't really understand...you either feel a stick to get lidocaine or you feel a stick to get your fill. So why get stuck twice? I've never been numbed and, to me, it's just a little pinch.

How soon can I hold my son?

My doctor told me nothing over 15 pounds for two weeks. I have a four year old, so it was pretty easy to get her to help me out.

    Sleeping

I've slept on my side since the first night. I had no choice really, because I had to stay one night in the hosp and the bed wreaked havoc on my back. As soon as I was home I was sleeping on my side and stomach. My incisions never hurt and the pressure of sleeping on my stomach helped with the gas.

    Swollen ankles

I've had the same problem and for me it's definitely sodium. I just had a fill yesterday and am on thick liquids now. Even though I'm having low sodium soup, my hands and feet are balloons. I have to really bump up my water. Also, when I was pregnant I had this problem My doctor had me lay on my sides (especially the left) and keep my feet elevated. This helped my body to release the fluids. I know how uncomfortable it can be so I'm wishing you all the best in figuring a fix quickly!!

    Dr. Atkinson & Dr. Soong

Dr. Atkinson did my surgery. It went very well and I am happy with his work. However, I was told at a support meeting that Dr. Soong is amazing with follow-up care...
  9. I guess I'm confused about what I thought restriction would feel like. I eat my four ounces with no problem. I have to remind myself to go slow and chew well, but I haven't felt what I thought was restriction. What I am experiencing is no more hunger, yet not really a fullness or satiety, but just not interested in any more food. Then I stay hunger-free. Today, I forgot about lunch because I didn't get hungry. Since I'm restricted to three four ounce meals and no snacks, I will have to make sure to shedule eating. I was really worried about things getting stuck or PBing and I'm just kind of surprised. Please don't get me wrong, I am not complaining in any way but just wondering if I am in a "normal" category??
  10. i am almost four weeks post op and at 2 1/2 weeks had lost 21,so you are doing really well. based on your loss,we are about the same size and so maybe we can encourage each other . i hope all is well/ i get a fill at week six. take care, peggy

  11. after having no loss last week (3 1/2 weeks postop,) I have lost two pounds this week. It puts me at 40 lbs lost and out of the 300's and into the 200's! Woo Hoo!!! I never thought I would ever leave those three's again! Tomorrow is my first fill. I'm taking baby steps in my goals but I can't wait to hit Onederland one day! Thanks for letting me share!

Weight loss prior to first fill

I was banded two days before you. It was exactly the same for me. Many on here as well as my doctor told me it is perfectly normal.
  13. I didn't have anything heavy like what you've got. I did start bleeding mid-cycle and it lasted until my normal period would have ended...
  14. It is his responsibility to figure out the problem. Don't let up on him until he does. I'm wishing you the best for a quick solution!
  15. Do it if you think it will help. It works for me. I finally measured myself last night. Since I didn't have a loss this week, I decided it might be a good idea to start looking for other indicators of success. Good luck with the scale!
