  1. hey I'm sorry your having a difficult time. Mine was temporary after a week all was ok. the best ideas are chew chew and then chew some more, take small bites and make sure it takes you about 30 minutes to eat. talking to the nurse or doc is very nessesary to address any problems before they become big problems. it's been a long time since my problem, I've had to band now for 1 yr 6 mnths 470 to 255 feeling like the energizer bunny. good luck and be patient bjt
  2. Banded 2 9 09 all went well but. I haven't thrown up at all and I am not nauseated at all. but every time i eat or drink I have a sharp pain in the center of my chest and back, it comes about 10 seconds after I swallow, it last only about 15 seconds but it is rather uncomfortable. Is this normal If it is how long before it gets better? bjt.
  3. Hope everyone is doing great. This is really a learning process, but it was worth it. Down 28 in 38 days. I had a fill on 3/9 but having a little trouble swallowing since fill, scheduled for follow up on 3/19 .
  4. Linda, hang in there, I know it may be hard to believe now but it does get better each day. I had my band on 2 9 09 and I didn't think that it would get better but after getting feed back from others at the site, I can honestly say it does get better. Keep reading and bouncing things off others and you will be surprised how much info you get. You are stronger than you think and your worth the challenge. Remember nothing fast ----- last!!! bjt:thumbup:
  5. Hey I was banded 2 9 09 and I feel really back to normal except for some pain when swallowing. I have no port pain and no upset stomach. I don't think anyone is a sellout here, everyone has a common goal for a better and more healthy life. Nobody is judgemental at the person who uses cigarette Patches or stents in the heart. This is our tool if we choose to use it we will be successful if we don't well let's not go there. I respect and support everyone at this site. I have been so well informed and I feel people have my best interest in mind. I wish all newcomers much success in your journey. Remember nothing fast _________ last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. hey, thanks for the advice , I haven't eaten anything solid just yogurt and protein shakes , but my neighbor said he had the pain for about a week and a half. He thinks my problem is that I not really expelling any gas. Talked to the RN she to take smaller sips and a little less, she thinks I'm still swollen and irritated today is just day 4 but I have no incision pain at all and still no upset stomach so I'm greatful for that. bjt:mellow:
