  1. Happy 58th Birthday marji1018!

  2. I was banded on 7/21 with the realize band. It also took me two weeks to get back to normal. I did return to work after 5 days but was very tired and sore and only worked half days. All in all my experience has been good. Still have some pain at port site but that is to be expected.

    Nothing After Midnight

Good Luck, I will be thinking of you. Please post soon, my surgery is on 7/21 and I need as much info as possible.
  4. Please don't worry you will be just fine. I went through the same thing the day before my pre-op diet (which was yesterday)wondering how many of my favorite foods I could eat before morning ( I know not the best mind set). Anyway I started my pre-op diet to day and guess what I just got a call from my doctors office and they changed my date from 7/15 to 7/21. I now don't have to start a pre-op diet until 7/16 ( I only need to do 5 days). There weird thing is I now feel really calm and no longer feel stressed out about the whole thing. I may actually start the pre-op early. Obviously the whole thing was in my head. Anyway good luck and hang in there.
  5. I was scheduled for July 15th and the doctors office just called and changed it to July 21st. I know it is only 6 more days but I feel devastated. Like I just lost a million dollars or something. I know I am being irrational and I am lucky that it is such a small delay but when it has taking 8 months to get to this point and you have already started your pre-op diet it is hard to feel good at this point. Words of encouragement would be appreciated or even words telling me how silly I am. I am sure I am not the only one this has happened to and I realize that doctors have lives too and some things can't be avoided.:tongue_smilie:

    Pre-Op Diet starts tomorrow

Thank you everyone for your most helpful responses. I guess I was just in panic mode. I am currently drinking an Atkins Advantage shake (Mocha Latte) and guess what it tastes pretty good. I know I have a rough trip ahead of me but with all of your support I am sure I will be just fine. Thats again everyone. Now on to my next worry SURGERY IN 5 DAYS
  7. My 5 day (yes I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't have to do 2 weeks) diet starts tomorrow and I am sitting here obsessing about food. I am wondering if I could possibly have pizza, taco's, fried chicken and a hoagie for dinner cause it is going to be a long time if ever I get to eat them again. What is wrong with me???? It took me 7 months to get to this point and now I am questioning where I can really give up the food I love. My surgery date is 7/15, is this just a case of nerves (I hope).
  8. My information was submitted to my insurance company today. Yeah!!! After almost 5 months of tests, studies etc. My insurance company is Keystone Health Plan East and I was just wondering what the time frame is for approval, rejection etc. or how long other people have had to wait before they heard anything.
  9. My doctor requires an over night stay if you are age 50 or above or have a medical condition (sleep apnea etc.) that may require a little more monitoring. I have not been banded yet still getting all the pieces in place but I don't have a problem with this requirement (I a am over age 50).
  10. i need to get my a1c test is little up 8.9 the dr side he going to put me on new meds. he side yea to lap band and i going to the surgeon i will let you all know ty mike

  11. Thanks so much for your post. It brightened my morning. I am just starting my lapband journey and have been hesitating over the decision. You have helped immensely.

    I am new

I also have high blood pressure and it seems like my knees are beginning to wear out. I feel I need to do something and weight loss surgery with a change in life style I think is the way to go. I am going to an information seminar on 2/3 to find out all of the particulars.
