    January 29th anyone????

I'm so glad to hear that I am not the only one--my dr. said only 1/2 the people get an 'adjustment' as he calls it. I checked out the 'fill' poll the other day, and it is ALL OVER THE place--no one is the same, there is no typical anything with this thing. Some people know all about what they got, the real technical details--I barely ask anything in my dr's office--I just want to get the heck out of there as fast as possible--I get the answers on here!--I guess I am still embarrassed (or something) that I had to get this and now it is not 'really' even working yet. OK I lost one more pound since I updated this, though--I think the 'ticker' might help, too. I hope it shows up. I did start walking (sort-of--a couple miles half-hearted, still) and I am doing dance videos--hula anyone? I figure I can be a really good belly-dancer at least! I should get extra credit for extra belly at least, don't cha think? Who likes any sort of exercise on here--spill the beans--I hate it all--but really want to find something that I really-really like. OK, off to bed. Thank goodness I still have to eat one more GNC caramel calcium chew...[i hope someone can appreciate a little wry-ness on here...]

    January 29th anyone????

My surgery went too well, maybe? I went back to work that Monday and after my one week appt, my dr. said I could progress as tolerated--well, it turns out I can tolerate so well, I can eat anything, yep, even meatballs; but I have not tried rice. I had to test an orange slice yesterday (took off the white part) and that was fine, and I found I can chew up some (soft bibb) lettuce and be fine, too. I thought at first I wouldn't even need a fill, and now I am sure that I do! Can anyone commiserate, here, please? Also, my port is on the RIGHT side--how weird that everyone's is different. I put frozen fruit in the blender with the protein powder and it is so good, my kid will drink it for "school-aid" as we now call it! I have been taking zinc losenges, too, since they say it helps to keep your hair.
  4. Wow--and I need it--I start the one week liquid diet tomorrow for surgery the 29th--scary! Thanks for doing this-I heard that relationships can get really rocky after this surgery--

    January 29th anyone????

Hello, I'm scheduled for the 29th, too! Glad to find you all! It is 3:30 in the morning right now. My first-ever post and I am a little nervous! I don't have to start a pre-op (all liquid!) diet until this Thursday; but I am at least doing low-fat for now--I wonder why it varies so much? What are these PB's they are all talking about? It sounds like throwing up, but I don't know what PB stands for-please tell me-the 'slime' search almost sent me over the edge. So my list so far is: Vitalady.com Protein drink samples (ordered & on the way) sugar free carnation instant breakfasts (for pre-op only--good, but not healthy enough for post-op) SF popsicles Water crystal light mixes protein water mix--special K is good, but not the highest recommended, they tell me broth Jello gas X strips (for surgery) chloraceptic (SP?) throat strips (for surgery) gummy bear Vitamins (for kids, from rite aid, etc. and they are good) other various chewable 'complete' vitamins are being tested, but none are really 'good' so far. 'travel' Kleenex for slimes and pb's (yikes!) what about stool softeners? Can we take that the night before--would it help?--I'll ask at my last appt with the surgeon later in the week. I still want to do searches for fitday.com; daily plate, body bugg; search for that ticker thing take official 'pre'-pictures! will, insurance etc., in order-just in case Please tell me what else I forgot for this list! I only have one lingering concern: did anyone read the studies about the grelin (those hungry hormones) problems for LB surgery v. RNY since it is thought to be made in the stomach and we are keeping ours attached? [if this stuff should be posted somewhere else, please tell me-I am a total newbie who can't sleep, so please forgive me in advance.]
