    Two Weeks Since Surgery

Is it close to your time of the month?? That would explain some weight gain, or even too much salt in a day or two can cause it. Don't sweat it, you will continue to lose. I think we all worry that we won't lose, but you will!! Just keep doing what you are supposed to and the weight will come off. Good luck!!

    After a 163 days.......

WOW!!! You are doing great!! And look wonderful!
  4. Rollermom You have made the best possible decision, well as far as I'm concerned!! For me the band was a disaster, and I only had it 9 months. I had my revision, and now I'm 2 lbs from goal!!! I could not be happier with my decision. The sleeve is so easy and carefree, just eat and go. I felt it was a much easier transition than the band. I have been able to eat ALL foods, just smaller portions. Please keep us posted, we care!!

Tiff That is way cool!!! I bet both of their jaws dropped to the floor, you do not even look like the same person. You look FAB!!!
  6. First of all you are not strange! I don't see any reason at all why you won't be able to have a cheesesteak again, I have been able to eat all of the foods I did before surgery. But like the others said you will just not be eating as much! I average about 3 meals out of a dining experience! I always have tons of left overs. And yes I know Anthony's.....num!!! I'm hungry so all of this talk about food is not helping! No worries, you will have cheesesteak again, maybe not while drinking a beer!
  7. WOW Bill look at your weight loss!!!!!!!!!!! You are doing so well! Good to see you posting, and I'm glad to see you doing so well!!
  8. BJ Not to argue with you, but I would venture to say that most people go to Mexico because they ca't afford the US. That was why I went, it would have taken me 3 more years to save enough to have surgery here. I'm all for keeping the money in the US, but I'm also a realist!!
  9. Caralee I totally agree with all that you have posted. I have spoke to MANY people that have been to this clinic, but are afraid to post anything. You see when people start getting nasty it does not accomplish anything. It might scare someone away from even having surgery. But if your posts and mine scare just ONE person away from this clinic, I will sleep better at night!! There have just been too many negative reports, and for all of you naysayers do you see other Dr's with all of these negative reports???? Do you think this is just coincidence?? I think not! I have been there, done that. I will admit my first experience was good, the second okay, but it did open my eyes to a lot of the sloppy practices there. Please people considering surgery in Mexico, do not let this clinic's reputation stop you!! There are MANY qualified surgeons there. It is not as dangerous as some think, and you drink bottled water......so please if Mexico is where you have decided to go, check out some of the better Dr's and HOSPITALS!!!!!
  10. Donna Good to see you posting, how is Linda doing? I hope she is well on the way to good health again. As far as this fiasco, I'm done playing nice! I can't believe the crap that happens there, and people just blow it off!! The things that we have all heard should NEVER happen, but continue to happen over and over. So many people, just say "oh well it won't happen to me". It does and it will happen again and again! Okay enough ranting for today! Take care, and give Linda a hug!
  11. Tinytummy & Greenbay I feel so bad for all that you have been through, it is just un thinkable to have had such thinks happen. I will continue to keep both of you in my prayers.
  12. Well I would give up lots of things, but not my alcohol!!! LOL! I love my glass of wine, and I won't be giving it up anytime soon!

Kicking my PPI - Day 7...

My stomach makes tons of noise all the time, it is not growling more of a gurgle. Maybe I should take Prilosec, and see if it will make me feel full. My worst problem is that I can eat too much, which means that sometimes I do. I don't think there is a cure for that!
  16. I have to say this is one of the most entertaining threads I have read in awhile, most people just ask about alcohol! And then people go nuts answering either way! I don't judge either way, I drink alcohol and I know a lot of people think that is wrong! I wish I had an answer for you!

Kicking my PPI - Day 7...

Before when I was at my heaviest I had to take anacids, non stop! Since surgery I have taken only one, that was after a onion chicken experiment that I did! LOL The only thing that I ever found that worked for me, and my hubby was Zantac, so glad I don't have to take them anymore. One question...if you take them does it keep you form eating?? Or does it just stop your tummy from doing all of the grumbling? I really don't think I get actual hunger pains, but my tummy makes wierd noises all the time.
  18. So how did your surgery consult go? I hope everthing is fine and that you have a date set now!! Good luck, we will always be here for you!

    Mexico or Bust!

Sounds like fun to me, but too pricey for the rest of the family. Since they don't care for the Water. I'm glad you had a great time though! I have been busy looking for a job...still! Have a line on a few things, but nothing solid yet! Hey I forgot to tell you my son and I do an annual trip to Emerald Downs for Mothers day. They had a buffet that was $35 each...it was one small line of food, that was it for $35! And no dessert, needless to say we skipped it! I could not eat enough to get my monies worth on that! OBTW great job!

    Mexico or Bust!

Janet You are doing so well!!! It feels so good to be a normal size again! Hey how was Great Wolf Lodge?? We have thought about going several times, but just never get around to it. Plus I'm the only one in the family who like the water, my hubby and his kids are all afraid of the water. I grew up swimming everyday during the summer, taugh swim lessons for 3 years. I guess you could call me a fish!! Have a great day!!

Okay I finally have another NSV moment! So My sister and brother in law were in town for a few days, and I had not seen my brother in law in about 8 months. We sat around visiting for awhile, then I excused myself to use the restroom. My brother in law says to my sister "WOW she is skinny" So of course my sister tell me as soon as I got back from the restroom, I went straight across the room and gave my brother in law a kiss!!! I sure love that man!!! Made my whole day, week, month!! Have a great day!

    32,000 feet high and ready!

Angie So sorry for you having to deal with your hubby when you were already past tired. As far as your meds, I took mine right away with a sip of water. No problems at all! I have been able to do that from just a few days out. So glad to see you are finally home and in your own element! You will feel so much better after a good nights sleep and a few hugs from the kids! Good luck and happy losing!
