Hi Jenni! I am so glad to hear from you! You were in my thoughts on Wednesday and Thursday and then to get a note from you, how cool. I have already had my 2nd adjustment. I went at six weeks po and I am needing another one now. I will call on Monday to see if I can get in on Wednesday. I was going to ask Dr. Feiz how you were doing......How is life with your second adjustment? I felt more restriction with it for about 2 1/2 weeks then I was able to eat more again but I have kept it to a minimum of food intake. I am still not drinking enough water nor am I exercising enough but I am down 30 pounds. How is your weight loss going? How is work going?

How was you visit with Dr. Feiz? Did he find anything wrong with your tummy?

Hey There LL! I have not been in touch for some time so I thought I would check in with you to see how you are doing. In reading your messages with DD it looks like you are doing well. I feel Great and I also feel that I am doing well. I am down 27 pounds in 7 weeks, better then I have ever done before. I am going to have to get on the exercise program if I am going to be down 50 by my birthday in July! I have had my second fill now and still not as much restriction as I would like. I still can eat more then 8 oz at a time so I have to make myself stop. Not a problem though because I am not hungry! That is good! Staying with mostly protein. I can eat bread and cottage cheese with no problem. I limit myself to bread only a couple times a week.

I was told by the girl only from my Docs office that I would have to stay for 24 hours. My surgery is not until 1:pm. I wish I could just go home. I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy two years ago and that was really no problem at all. I was only off work for a week. I am hoping to go back to work right a way with this procedure. My surgery is on a Thursday and I am hoping to go back to work on tuesday. We will see. Good luck on the weight loss. Cheryl

Hey Julie.ann! I am doing well, but have been in a very very long stall! I have included cardio workouts as well as a trainer and still no luck getting into Onederland! I am only three pounds away but it seems like a hundred! LOL! I am just about 8 months since the original surgery and I am filled to 9cc in my 11cc band! I just take one day at a time! But I am as happy as a lark with my current 62 pounds gone! I am still chubby! -) I know that the next 30 pounds will really make a difference in the way that I look! Hey DB, Well, here I am to tell the tale. I am three days PO and I have to tell you this has not been bad. I have a total of 4 cuts the largest one just above my naval where my port is. No pain, but very very stiff and sore like someone was inside of me and had a boxing match. Also be aware of the gas that gets caught up in the shoulders and chest area. I was told about it before and I have it now. It is like a ache that just does not go away. That really is the biggests hurt so far. I was glued together so no dressing and I was able to shower yesterday. I do not feel hungry but I am getting tired of the liquid and am looking forward to my first taste of scrambled egg! LOL I really hate eggs but they sound good!

Please ask me any question that you might have It is all still very fresh. I will try to write all my memories down in my blog later today or tomorrow.

I was banded in Los Angeles, CA by a Fab young Doc named Michael Feiz. I had done a lot of research on him before choosing him. Please feel free to ask me any questions or to talk about any fears you might have. I started this process on Jan. 20, 09 and as you see I was banded two months later. I weigh a bit more than you but I have had more time in years to gain then you also. LOL . I am hoping to loose 110 pounds. I will set a goal for myself in small increments but I sure would like to see 70 pounds gone by my birthday in July! 12 gone 58 to go! Talk to you soon, Cheryl

Hey there LL, I hope you are doing well. How have things been since your revision? I am not sure if I have let you know that I had the entire band replaced the end of July. I am doing much better now. I am down 60 pounds and I am at 7 months since the first surgery.

Hi There RTBT, I am thetig, Cheryl, you had asked me about restriction with my band. I could feel the restriction with both my first and second adjustments or fills but for only a week or so. I have been very careful to stay with the protein only eating carbs on limited occasions, but I do love carbs. If you have gained weight I would suggest that you go back on your liquid diet for a couple of days and get the kick start that you might be needing. Also please read as many blogs as you can especially Julie.ann.......it takes a while to get the band to really work as far as fills go. I have read that it can be up to as many as 4 or 5 before you have reached your "Sweet Spot" my Doc says the same thing to me. I know this was the best decision I could have ever made and it is working! Keep in touch!

Hi There, I just read your thread on port revision. Thanks for sharing! I am looking at having it done next week. I am interested in knowing if the weight has been coming off easier now that you have the port replaced, I read how you know have restriction so I guess that will be a yes to my question. Hi There RSG, How R U? Have you been banded? When and by which DR? I was banded on March 26th 2009 and I am feeling and I really think doing great! My Dr. is a wonderful young guy named Michael Feiz out of the Beverly Hills Physicians group. I did research and found him to be one of the very best in the area and now that I am banded I truly believe that he is. Please keep in touch! Cheryl

Hi Shelly, I read your comment to Gregnir and I just wanted to give a bit of support to you! This band will work if you let it and you really have to listen to it and get your fills or really they are called adjustments on a regular basis. I have a great Doctor who allows me to be the judge of when I need a fill. If I find that I am starting to eat more then my cup of food at eating time then I call and get the adjustment that I need. I have only been banded for 6 weeks and I have now had two adjustments. It sometimes takes 6-8 adjustments before you get to where to are loosing regularly. I hope that you will not give up and that you will get back to having the LB help you! Good Luck! Cheryl

Hi There, I am hearing a lot about a pre surgery diet. Did you have to go on one? No one at my surgeons office and mentioned this to me. I am getting a bit worried due to the fact that my BX just sent me a letter saying the Doc has put me down for a surgery date of March 21st. Thanks in advance for any info. Cheryl
