  1. I understand your feelings are hurt but you have to understand most men are very good about separating what is real vs what is fantasy. Men are very visual and are going to look at other women, no matter how fabulous and hot you look. Do NOT take this personally, they are men.....they like looking.....they can't help themselves!

Addiction to porn can cause devastation to a relationship that is true. But honestly it sounds to me like he just likes to look. I would gauge it by this; does he spend money joining porn sites, does he spend money on 900 numbers, does he go into porn type chat rooms? If the answer is no to all, I wouldn't sweat it.

My advice is to relax and talk with him Don't force him to hide it from you. The fact he has to hide it and lie about it makes it a deceptive act when in fact it probably isn't. You may feel differently if you open up and try to enjoy porn with him on occassion both online and video. Rent some sexy movies together, drink some wine, get frisky and have fun!

  2. I am a stress, boredom and depression eater. If anything acts as a trigger, I will binge the whole day and later that night cry for failing to have more willpower or control over my own self.

I too think about food all the time, it consumes me. Even now, after banding, I constantly think about what and when I'm going to eat. I know "normal" people don't do this, and wonder why I can't just be like them?

I have seen a counselor off and on for several years. Each one tells me I have to understand the "why" behind my addiction. Why do I turn to food instead of something healthy like; working out, yoga, discussing with friends or doing deep breathing exercises....quite frankly I don't know.

My greatest fear is failing to gain control and failing to conquer my weight issues and body issues.

Anyway, thank you for starting this thread and for all those who have posted their "stories".

  3. I feel exactly the same way, and just started a new thread about it prior to reading this....that's what I get for letting frustration get the better of me!

I am hungry every 2 hours and very discouraged. Please let me know how you feel a few days after your fill.

Hi! I was banded on Dec. 18th! I was so excited and expected a lot at the beginning. I lost some weight the first couple of weeks. But not as much as many others in my group at the doctor's office. Around my 4th week, I began to be able to eat as much as I wanted; and now, I can't even tell I've been banded.

My weight gain since the band has kind of discouraged me. I get my first adjustment today and am hoping that the weight loss starts again.

Did anyone else have a slow start? :cursing:

  4. Hi, I was banded on the 31st, I felt great, dropped 19 pounds quickly and now am stuck. I am getting hungry 2 hours after eating and craving things I shouldn't have. I quit soda and alcohol altogether, I wait 30 minutes after I eat to drink Water.< /p>

I feel like I was doing everything right, making healthy eating choices etc, so how come I'm so hungry and craving stuff?

Thankfully I get my first fill this Thursday, is anyone else experiencing any of the same things?:cursing:

  5. I haven't started working out yet, walk about 4 times a week which I know isn't enough. I am still in the mushy stage of the diet, but I have been testing the waters with solid foods, and no issues yet with exception to bread. I am trying to stick to 3 meals and 1 snack daily. I need to start incorporating a Protein smoothie for my evening snack because am worried not getting enough Protein. I haven't started counting calories yet, that will start after my fill on 2/3.

Thanks for your help! We can do it!

    Deanna:wink:

I accept!! We are in this together! I know I need a swift kick in the a** sometimes. Just about everyday I log my food in the food thread "share ideas- what did you eat today?" I have recently joined curves and I work out 4-5 times a week. I also walk 2-3 times a week on top of that. I never exercised the first several months after my surgery. Then I realized that I had to. I also think I have hit a plateau now. I lost 2# in December and have lost nothing for January!! I was thinking that I'm not getting enough calories now that I am working out consistently! By the way...what is your name?

  6. I hope you went through with it. I just got banded on 12/31 and have had NO issues at all with exception to gas right after surgery. I have already lost 19 pounds since, please do this....you are worth it!

you are one of the few positives I have seen here. Every one else is chocking, throwing up, suffering from gas pains PBing and salivating like a St. Bernard.

I am supposed to go in in the morning and I am seriously thinking of backing out. I take a ton of meds and need to loose 90 more pounds. But thes comments are making me wonder if it's the right way to go.

I don't know what to do.

  7. Hi, thanks for the reply....does this mean you are willing to put up with me and be my "o' wise one"?

Sounds like you have done very well since March! What does your diet and excercise program consist of?

    Thanks

    Hello~

    I am a 34yrs old~Mother of 3 boys 13.11.5.

Wife of 14 years. I was banded March 24, 08

I needed to lose about 110#. I have lost around 70#. I get weighed and measured next week. I live in Indiana and we have a butt load of snow right now!! I work for our family business of heating and air conditioning- part time. I know I still need a kick in the A**!!

  8. "In your post, please share information about yourself such as age, gender, marital status, occupation, geographical location, amount of weight lost, amount of weight to lose, etc."

HI! I was banded 12/31/08 and have my first fill 2/03/09. I have lost 19 pounds of my 129 pound goal. I am 36, female in a long term relationship. I live in MO and work as an analyst in the finance industry. I think that answers all the questions above.

I am looking for a female mentor in her 30's who's weight loss goal was over 100 pounds similar to mine. Someone who has been there and done that and kicked butt!

    THANKS!

  9. Hi everyone! I am new to the group, just had surgery on the 31st and am doing great. I have looked at some of the photos posted and have to admit that I'm extremely excited about this journey. Looking at how wonderful some of the after photos are is so encouraging to us newbies. :cursing:
