    Signs of being full?

Hello, lucky for you, I'm one of the dumbest people here. I can honestly say I've fought every battle with this little band around my stomach. That's a great question. I had posted the same question on different boards. The only answer I got was "everyone is different" I didn't feel restriction until my second fill. It was night and day. You will know restriction! If you can eat a cup of food within 20min your not at the sweet spot. Wait a couple of weeks, and go back. Don't rush the fill process. Remember were not born with bands around our stomach, luckily our body adapts. Give your body time to adapt!! As for the feeling full part. I choose the "not so hungry" feeling when I eat. Remember that one extra bite can be the difference between vomiting and irritating your stomach or looking for the old feeling of full. Don't walk that fence. I'm staying with the "not so hungry" feeling. We all vomit at one point, learn that lesson quick!!!! I dont want anyone to take the "dumbest person here" title from me. Pete

Why do they keeping saying this won't work?

Hello NewDadMiami, They said the same thing to me. After a year and 3 months with the band Ive lost 130lbs. Everyone must remember the hard and fast rule!!! This rule, doesn't care how you eat- what you eat, or how often you eat. Rule #1 You gain weight if you consume more calories then you exert..... Get the band! eat fries milkshakes in moderation. Consume 1200 calories a day and start living an active life! you will be successful- your on your way, follow your gut and for Gods sake don't believe experts are actually looking out for your best interest. Does anyone have any insight as to why they would try to get me to do Gastric instead of Lap-Band®? You cant fail with the bypass, eat sugar-you dump, eat too much- vomit city, if you get bad food past the 2 above blockades, it wont absorb because they removed some intestines. Most signs of failure appear after the 3 year mark. The new pouch gets stretched. band, eat milk shakes and sliders sadly you'll gain, unless you go to rule #1 and work your butt off in the gym. that's not a great plan so don't bank for that option.

    Scared and lost

Thank you all Its been a couple of weeks since applying a couple of the rules you guys recommended. I haven't had any issues of getting stuck!!!!! I was falling into a pattern of getting stuck and never resting my stomach. I slowed down and now a day out of a week I just do Protein shakes to give my system a rest. Thanks everyone...

    Scared and lost

Its definitely the getting stuck feeling, mostly with dry food or over eating. My biggest problem is I know its me!!!! I don't know how not to do that. If I eat by the book, im fine- but twice per week i mess up. How do I stop?? need some type of tools. Im a little confused with what exact amount i really need to be eating. 3,5,7 oz?? My analytical mind does not comprehend "when you feel full" anyone please chime in. I guess that's a question I really need to answer. I get it- everyone is different but how much do you eat a each sitting?

    Scared and lost

Hello I had my lap-band installed last year. So far Ive lost 100+ pounds. I vomit at least once a week, I'm trying to eat slow and follow directions but i'm scared that i'm going to mess up a great thing....I mostly eat regular food, it just happens every once and a while (once or twice a week). I don't know what to do- sorta feel out of control. No heartburn the band has been consistent. Please Please someone give me advice i scared and dont want to jack this up.

    adjustment??

Hello All, First I have to tell ,you guys have been an inspiration and thank you. I had surgery in January of 2009 so far Ive lost 70lbs and feel great. I have a quick question I was adjusted once, I haven't gone back. I think im consuming too much food. I can eat 3 taco's and feel full not overfull, just right. Is this too much food?? My weight loss has slowed down to about 1 pound a week. I know that's good but I've averaged about 2 lbs, its slowing down!!! not that concerned about it. What mostly concerns me is the amunt of food i eat. Is that too much??? how much do you eat? Do i need an adjustment?? Thanks everyone Pete O

    Band hell

Hello itschoice, My heart goes out to you. They told me that I will have to unbuckle it as well if it doesn't heal. When they said that my heart broke. I fell your pain and im sorry. I will no longer take whole pills. Crush split or liquid meds. I talked to the doctor, so that issue is resolved. They installed the Realize band due to its bigger size. The doctor had the ability to install both the lap or the realize band in case of these issues. Pete

    Band hell

Hello All, Well, here is my story, I was banded on the 14th. In the hospital the surgeon mentioned that the band was tight around my stomach. Apparently men have a larger fat storage around the stomach. This was my issue. She (surgeon) did an xray and said I had a little contrast pass through the band. I was also told to do a 6 week liquid diet so the excess fat deposit around my stomach would shrink. In the hospital I was started on the basic 1oz per 15min routine. On the 15th they had me swallow my heart melds and continue with the liquids. I was released the afternoon of the 15th. Friday the 16th the crap hit the fan. Around 2 Pm I took my heart med and the pill got stuck. I couldn't get Water down. Everything that went down came back up!!!!!! I was rushed to the hospital that night. They did another xray and the the band was completely closed!!! the night doctor said that its choking my stomach inside and out. I was put on an IV from the 16th until today the 19th. Im happy to be home and back on the 1oz per 15 min so far so good. Help is this normal has any one had a tight band ?? If its too tight why was it installed ?? any encouraging feed back What does my future with the band look like?? :scared2:
