  1. I was banded on 5/25 in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz. I am more sore today than yesterday & think I overdid it with the liquids. Sometimes the gas is so painful & can barely breath! Thats when I take a walk around the block...it most of the time allows me to burp & feel better! I am struggling with the not eating thing. I see the food & want to eat...I'm glad I cannot physically eat it! This is the only way I am going to lose weight!
  2. I added fiber to my drink because I was feeling sort of hungry. The nutritionist at my surgeon said to take a table to two if you are feeling hungry. I thought I was doing the right thing but I guess it to early! Thanks everyone for the reassurance that I probably didn't strech my pouch & its just to swollen to drink that much! Thanks everyone!!!
  3. As far as check ups with Dr. Ortiz, as long as nothing is going wrong there are no checkups...other than fills. He has a nutritionist on staff so you can call & ask questions & he is ALWAYS available for questions or concerns. In his book he talks about referals to other drs in the states. You can get a fill from him back in MX or have him refer you to someone close to where you live. Its up to you, but he is the best & if you are going to have him do your surgery then I would have him do the fill...
  4. I was banded on Wednesday (5/25) & didn't have one. I was on a 12 hour fast so by the time I got the operating room I had nothing left in me. I was only in surgery for about 20 minutes! Dr. Ortiz gets you in & our very quickly!
  5. I am two days post-op & am on a clear liquid diet. About an hour ago I felt like I needed to drink something so I drank about 1/2-3/4 cup gatorade with a small amount of fiber added. Now I feel so over full & could throw-up! I am sooo worried I have strechted my pouch & won't lose weight! I know I am over reacting but I can't help it! Any advice? Thanks for the support! :omg:
  6. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz on May 25! I am three days post-op & feel great! A little gas in the chest & some port pain but I feel much better than I expected! :clap2:
  7. I am concerned that I will not be able to lose as much weight as I need before surgery. I am scheduled for surgery May 25th in TJ with Dr. Ortiz & have only lost 2 pounds. Has everyone lost the weight before surgery? If so, how? I don't want my surgery to be put off because I have not lost as much weight as I should have! I am following the recommended diet but the pounds are just not coming off. Any suggestions?:hungry:
