  1. Happy 31st Birthday Jasmine11381!

  2. Thanks so much Terry! I really appreciate it : )

  3. Hi Jasmine: It is really hard to read the writing of the meds on the discharge paper work provided to me, but I believe it is Scopalamine Transdermal patch 1.5 mg.

I hope you get to feeling better.

    Take care,

    Terry

    Head Pain after vomitting

Hi there! I was vomiting in the hospital and complained about horible pain in my head the entire time. I actually had to stay an extra day and a half because of the vomiting and the headache. Now when I got nausous or wretch I get the same pain. It's very bad so I totally understand. I guess it's something some of us get. Hopefully, it will get better with time. I was banded recently by the way (Jan. 6th). THanks!

    Question about hunger pains.

Hello! I was banded on the 6th of January and still have those hunger pains. They suck I know :tongue2: I'm guessing they'll get less and less but it's worse then the gas or incision pain. Hang in there and let me know when yours stop so I know if I am "normal"
  6. Hi Terry! (I hope that's your name : ) Anyway, I am so glad that you wrote because I had the same exact problem with the hives and nausea and was in the hospital the same amount of time. However I have been without pain meds since my surgery. I only received pain meds the first day every since then....nothing. Can you tell me what those patches were called. I would love to talk to my doctor about them. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!

  7. Hi all! I had my surgery on January 6th (Tuesday) so it has only been 6 days. However, I am only able to get down maybe half of a thing of Soup broth and a popsicle a day. I am hungry but don't want to eat because I feel sick when I do. Is this normal or should I call the doctor? When I was in the hospital I vomited several times and it was excrutiating and I know I am afraid of vomiting again because the pain was so intense. Let me know what you think. I can't get any of my post op Vitamins down and no Protein like instructed. Thanks! Meghan
  8. I ABSOLUTELY know what you are saying. I just got my band on Jan 6th and I was sooo scared. I to am prone to panic attacks and I am actually on medication for anxiety. When it came within 2 days of my surgery date I cried and cried and begged my husband to let me change my mind. He talked me out of it because he knew how important it was to me. The day of surgery was horrible, I cried and didn't want to go through with it but I did. The surgery itself is a piece of cake, the after part isn't as much fun. And I am telling you this because I thought it was gonna be a walk in the park, and maybe for you it will be. But the pain is a bit intense and I vomited a few times which was excrutiating. However, it is now Jan 9th and I do feel better and better everyday. I am hungry and want to eat but I know I can't. It's just not possible because I know I'll get sick and nothing is worth that pain again. You'll get through it and be fine just look to the long term and push. Hopefully you have a good support team! I wish you luck and please feel free to ask any questions you need.

    Fill me in

Hi everyone! I am 27 years old, married in June of 2008. I am getting banded on tuesday January 6th 2009. The reason I am having this done is so that I can be healthy enough to have a baby. It will be my first. This is where things get a bit weird. You see I am a teacher of students with special needs. I teach kids with autism, downs syndrome, cerbral palsy, etc. and I ADORE my job. However, I am naturally paranoid about having a child with a disability and want to take all precautions while I am pregnant. Has anyone heard anything about this band creating any type of birth defects or complications with the pregnancy. I know it may not be what everyone wants to talk about but I think it's important to know. Thanks for understanding. Meghan

    Anyone getting banded in January

I'm getting banded on January 6th. It is a nice way to start the new year isn't it? Thing is I'm really nervous but excited. good luck to you, and let me know how your progress goes.
  12. Hi everyone! I am so glad I found this online because I am having my surgery on Tuesday January 6th 2008 and I am scared to death. I was in the shower just now and started to panic a little. I'm not sure if I can do this, I've never had surgery before and I know I need to do it but I am really nervous about the entire thing. I've been a "big girl" my entire life and I'm ready for the change but I can't explain how confused I am. Is this the right choice for me? Am I doing the right thing? Can I handle this? My husband is so supportive and the reason I am doing this is so I can have a baby and we can start our family and I want to be healthy in order to do that. Someone please tell me if this is the right thing to do? Is it worth it? Am I going to be okay?
