    HPV Vaccine

I have to agree with GadgetLady here. Some young people actually choose to abstain until marriage for moral reasons. It is entirely possible and maybe even probable that her girls will due to their upbringing. There are still some kids who actually try to do what is right regardless of peer pressure.

    What Peeves you?

My pet peeves are: 1) people who drive a long distance with their turn signal on.( I guarantee you if they have an accident they would say "but I had my signal on", even though it had been on for 5 miles). 2) folks who say "excuse me" as a way of saying "MOVE". One day at Walmart a teenage girl stood behind me saying "excuse me" because she wanted to look at the same makeup that I was looking at instead of waiting her turn. ( We all have those Walmart stories don't we?) That is only a couple of them. I have several.LOL

    Roadside shrines

I think the person's final resting place would be a more appropriate place for the "shrine". Here in southern Indiana these roadside memorials are everywhere. Some are dirty and the crosses are falling over but I guess the roadside workers leave them there out of respect.I think they should be banned.

    HPV Vaccine

Even if your daughter is not sexually active until marriage, her husband may bring HPV into the marriage. The only way your daughter is safe is if she marries another virgin. This is just something to keep in mind. My daughter is 19 and a virgin. She is also in a committed relationship but they have decided to wait until marriage before having sex. I believe he is a virgin as well. My daughter is still considering the vaccine because there is an age limit of 26. She believes that life is not always predictable and that the best laid plans sometimes do not work out. She could end up divorced or widowed and there could come a day when she may end up in a second marriage or another relationship.

    Moral Dilemma

Hopefully Mrs. P will never find out that Mr. P was not the man she thought he was. Sometimes people we love do not live up to the pedestal we put them on. I agree with all who said that men simply react different to the loss of a spouse than women do. I love my husband dearly and I know he loves me but there is not a doubt in my mind that in the event of my death he would enter the dating world very quickly LOL. I can only hope that, unlike Mr. P, he would wait until I am actually dead. I guess the vow "in sickness and in health" does not mean much to some people.

    6 Freaking Months!??!

I have Anthem/ BCBS and in my insurance guidelines I am required to have a BMI of 40 or above (I am at 42), a psych consult (scheduled for tomorrow 2/5/07), and a nutritionist consult (not scheduled yet). No mention of a supervised diet program in their requirements. I have sleep apnea, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and hypertension so there is no shortage of co-morbidities. Are these supervised diets something the insurance company springs on a person after all the other requirements are met? Did everyone else have the supervised diets listed in the requirements in their policy? Sorry to be negative, but I am worried that I may be dead in six months.

    Nursing Home Abuse

Wootsie73 is 100% correct! I am an LPN who worked in nursing homes for over 10 years and I can tell you that they are so understaffed that no human being could take adequate care of those people. I truly loved and cared for the residents but one human being can only do so much. I have written nursing assistants up for being intoxicated on the job, yelling at the residents, stealing from them, etc. I could go on and on. It simply is impossible to make a difference in these places. I left nursing because of this reason. I could not bear to see human beings treated like this.
  8. Hi everyone! I have been researching the band for over a year ( and lurking here:) ). I made my first appointment with Dr. Curry for February 5. I am at 270 lbs.
