Hey there! I saw your post "what made you decide..." I just thought it was so weird that you and I are the same height and weigh about the same and we're getting banded the exact same day! I feel the same way you feel too, that I could maintain 150-160 back when I was younger. Well good luck to you and please keep in touch!

Hey there fellow army wife! I just left ft. bragg last aug. how do you like it there so far?
-
Well they told me the main purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver so there are less complications during the surgery. Basically your liver sits on top of your stomach and its easier to move when its smaller. My pre-op diet is a low carb/fat high protein diet. They gave me the choice to do that for two weeks or full liquids for one week. I felt I could stick to that one better. I totally understand the whole thing about staying the night. I kind of want to too. Hospital stays aren't too bad anyway

Yes I'm excited for the change but nervous about the surgery and if I will fail. i know I shouldn't have thoughts like that in my head but I just want to be really successful. I'm aiming to lose about 90lbs within a year at most. I know its possible I just really hope its possible for me.

Oh I know OMG!! I started my pre-op diet yesterday basically I'm on the Atkins diet so no more rice! I did find a pretty good alternative though, cauliflower! I just put in my food processor so it came out like rice. It was actually pretty good :-) And yes I'm both more excited than nervous though. I can't believe in less than 2 weeks its happening!

Yea i''ve already started prepping. I bought the chocolate myoplex soy protein. It feels better on my stomach than the regular protein and I've been working out since the first! I can't believe in 3 wks from today I'll be banded! I'm soo nervous. But good luck to you and keep me updated! Later chica!

Fort Worth Lap band- Dr. Smith. I have my pre-surgery consult on the 2nd. I've really been going back and forth in my head if I can really do this if I'll be successful. I've seen so many people either they did great or others who didn't do right and gained the weight back or stretched out their stomach and I don't want to be on that end of it. I'm so glad to find someone being banded the same day as me! you have to keep in touch. If you don't mind me asking what is your starting weight and your goal weight?
