  4. Thank you! I'm soo excited and ready for this change. I'm to look like you when I'm finished!

  5. Tricare Prime Remote is a little different from Tricare Prime. Basically since we're not near any military posts, I get to choose my doctor. And since you're regular prime you may have to have your procedure done at womack if they do it there. But good luck and keep in touch!

  6. well my hubby now is a recruiter and we have tricare prime remote and it was super easy for me. I went to my pcm and told her I wanted it and she reffered me to this doctor here in ft. worth and they submitted the paperwork in tricare and I was approved within a week. I started my process back at the end of october and I get banded 2/16. It would've been sooner if they weren't so booked up. Also from what I've read from other military wifey's on here they didn't have any trouble either. Basically you have to be at least 100lbs over weight and/or your bmi has to be over 40 but even that you can get around b/c my bmi is only 37 and i'm only 89 lbs overweight. I hope that helps.

  7. Ahh ok well thats great :) so are you all healed up? if not how long does it take?

  8. Hey! Congrats on your transformation you look amazing! I saw all your pics and I can't wait to get there. I just have a question about your tummy tuck what were all those tubes for?

  9. Hey there! I saw your post "what made you decide..." I just thought it was so weird that you and I are the same height and weigh about the same and we're getting banded the exact same day! I feel the same way you feel too, that I could maintain 150-160 back when I was younger. Well good luck to you and please keep in touch!

  10. Hey there fellow army wife! I just left ft. bragg last aug. how do you like it there so far?

    The votes are in!!!

Well my fellow February Bandsters you have spoken. It looks like the February 09 bandsters new name will be the February Foxes!! To all of you who have already been banded this month congrats and I hope you are doing well, and to everyone like who will be banded soon good luck and best wishes!
  12. Well they told me the main purpose of the pre-op diet is to shrink your liver so there are less complications during the surgery. Basically your liver sits on top of your stomach and its easier to move when its smaller. My pre-op diet is a low carb/fat high protein diet. They gave me the choice to do that for two weeks or full liquids for one week. I felt I could stick to that one better. I totally understand the whole thing about staying the night. I kind of want to too. Hospital stays aren't too bad anyway :)

  13. omg i know right!! ahhhh!! lol. yea thats what i heard from my insurance too that I may have to stay overnight too but my doc said i won't..we'll see and honestly at this point i don't care... i'm going to be in bandland!! yay!!! what do u have to do for your pre-op?

  14. Oh your fine lol it took me a little to figure it out too :)

  15. Just droppin by to say hey! Hope things are good with you!

    Any February 16th bandsters?

Good Morning fellow Bandsters!! Can ya'll believe we have 10 more day until bandland!! I'm soo excited, scared, nervous and happy. My best friend gave me some really good advice that I would like to share with everyone who is feeling what I'm feeling, "Think about why you are doing this and that the benefit is greater than the pain, the pain will only last a few days, but if your serious about losing this weight you will benefit a lifetime from this." Everytime I feel anxiety about this I think about what she said to me. I hope that helps anyone. I will be banded by Dr. Adam Smith of the Fort Worth Lapband. Good luck everyone and keep in touch!
  18. Yes I'm excited for the change but nervous about the surgery and if I will fail. i know I shouldn't have thoughts like that in my head but I just want to be really successful. I'm aiming to lose about 90lbs within a year at most. I know its possible I just really hope its possible for me.

    Let's talk pre op diets!

I started my pre-op diet on Monday. I was given the choice of a 2-week low carb/fat high protein diet or 1 week liquid. The first day was really hard between lunch and dinner I was starving!! So now I bring low fat string cheese with me after lunch to work to hold me over. Also for people on this diet who miss their rice and pasta- I found a really good substitute for the rice- cauliflower! :thumbup:And so far everything I've used it with has been good. Basically take the cauliflower, and put it through the food processor (or blender should work) until it's ground up into small pieces. Then, you can steam it like rice. **Important don't add water! Just put it in a sealed bowl and microwave as is so it stays fluffy like rice. And if you need other recipes here's a pretty good website I found: LowCarbFriends Recipes - Main Index - Powered by ReviewPost. Good luck to everyone and keep in touch!
  21. I just wanted to stop by and say congrats on being banded. I too will be banded 2/16. I'm glad to hear you're doing ok. Good luck to you on your journey and keep in touch :)

  22. You look amazing in your pics posted on the before/after thread! I will also be banded by Dr. Smith on 2/16. Have any advice for a future bandster? Again congrats on your accomplishment!

  23. Wow your started about at my starting weight! I'll be banded on 2/16. Congrats you look great!

  24. Oh I know OMG!! I started my pre-op diet yesterday basically I'm on the Atkins diet so no more rice! I did find a pretty good alternative though, cauliflower! I just put in my food processor so it came out like rice. It was actually pretty good :-) And yes I'm both more excited than nervous though. I can't believe in less than 2 weeks its happening!

  25. I'm good and you? :-)
