  1. I was having terrible reflux and was eating chewable pepcid with every meal. I couldn't sleep at night was up coughing and vomiting up black tar stuff. lost 25lbs in a month. not good...couldn't keep food down most of the time. So having all kinds of trouble... finally started to get week and have pain. Went in and doctor did upper GI and found that my stomach had actually herniated through the band. (the bottom part of stomach started coming through the band) So not an actual slip. Doc thinks that the problem was caused because the band was not at perfect placement when originally put in. So new band on Tuesday. I can't wait. I feel like hell.

  2. You asked why I was getting a new band. My band has slipped and I have to have it replaced. I have surgery on Tuesday. Thanks for the comments about my pics... Progress had been good before the slip. :)

  3. Thank you for your comments. I would say the secret to my success is following the rules that my doctor gave me. Three small meals and 30 mins exercise very day. My doc also told me that to think of the band as a TOOL not a solution. :)

  4. Thanks for the message...I was having trouble logging in. :)

  5. There are times where I think what did I get myself into. I had to have gall bladder surgery a year after being banded and I have developed gout. They claim that these things are caused by rapid weight loss. BUT, overall...I would do it all over again. I no longer have to take blood pressure meds, I no longer have sleep apnea and I feel so good about myself. I do have some trouble with naseau. and go through phases of having trouble keeping food down, but in my mind that is a small price to pay for having a NEW healthy ME that I could not get any other way.

  6. Hello,

Thank you I feel GREAT too. I had Surgery in May of 2007. As of today I have lost 120 lbs and I have about 18 lbs to go. my doc thinks I should be starting the maintenance process soon. I was 288 when I started and I am 168 right now. HOpe this helps GOOD LUCK

  7. Thank you for your comment. I feel great too! I strongly encourage you to have the surgery if you can. It will change your life. It changed mine in a million ways. :)

  8. This message is in response to the comment you made of my picture. I had band surgery two years ago and I have lost 120 lbs. It started out really slow, so if that happens don't be discouraged. I lost the most weight about 1 year into it. I exercise and am very active now. I wish you all the best! :)

  9. This is in response to your comment to my picture. You asked me what I attribute my success to. In the beginning it was diet, but the last few months I have had to up the exercise. I am now jogging two miles every other day. I never thought I would ever say I jogged. haha Hope this helps some.

  10. Thank you for the comment to my blog and I have often wondered what things would be like if I had not shared my surgery with my brothers and sisters, but I know that eventually they would have figured it out and confronted me, my weight loss was so drastic and I have lost so much. I have tried for years and years and years and had no success, so they would have been very curious as to how I could do so well. I wish you the best of luck with your weightloss journey. You are sure to do well!

  11. Thank you for the comment to my blog...I think that if I could do it all over again, I would not tell anyone, but then again..my weight loss was so drastic that they honestly would have known something was up? I wish you the best of luck with your surgery and weightloss journey. I am positive it will be a success!

  12. had a great time visiting with you tonight...I am thinking of you and wishing you lots of luck in the next few months to come...
