    2008 has come and gone!!

Its amazing how ones life can turn 180 degrees is a very short time. For the first time in my life I am unemployed. This came as a total shock. It taught me a valuable lesson though and that’s to say away from office politics. Becoming unemployed as result of backing the wrong animal in the political game always hurts but as the wises man that I ever knew (My dad) states to me all the time “As one door shuts, another door opens.” While it hurts we all move on in our lives. I already have another job lined up if it comes through (I will find out next Tuesday) How does this affect my weight loss program? Not at all. I am still as determined as ever to get to my goal weight (160lbs) but it will take some work. With the support of my friends and family we will succeed. 2009 is a new and exciting year for Lena and myself. 2008 sucked bad. We lost the house in February in the Tornado and then trying to rebuild was an experience I never wish to go through again. Then having the surgery and having to go through the recovery period and my work being non supportive in the process. Then Lena and I almost lost our daughter in November. There is nothing scarier than seeing your only child on life support and being told that they don’t expect her to see the day out. Thank god she proved them wrong. She has a long road to recovery but she will make it. Then losing my employment after 10 years. Well life moves on and we will all survive. I don’t make new years resolutions but I can tell you that I am more determined than ever to succeed in the new world coming through. What ever your political affiliation we can only go up. All it takes is for everybody to take just one step forward. It was a wise man who said that the greatest journey starts with a single step For each and everyone of you that goes through this journey with the lap band your experiences are unique unto yourselves. I take my hat off each and everyone of you and wish you all success in 2009. Kevin

    The first of many

Its a couple of days after Christmas and to be thankful I am glad its gone. To see everyone eating like there was no tomorrow made me kind of jealous. I had my surgery on April 28th 08 and while the initial response was good I have stopped dead in the water in the losing weight dept. On reading the logs from other people especially Wendells log I have a better grasp of the situation. Everyone seems to get depressed at some point and I am no different. Reading others blogs have inspired me to greater efforts and have kick started the whole process again. Life is wonderful. Its great to smell the roses again. Kevin
