  1. Hi all. I'm down to 248.8, so please change my weight on the the spreadsheet. Thanks.

I got to go shopping in my upstairs closet. That's where I kept the clothes that I out grew. In about 2 months I will get to go shopping for real. Aren't lap band's great!!!!

We don't seem to hear from everyone that started posting. I hope they are still losing. Everyone that is posting is doing great. So let's keep up the good work.

  2. Hi AllThngsArePossible,

I've been doing a low carb diet. FOODS Wake up TEA, MEDS, CAL & Vitamin ISOPURE Breakfast GREEK YOGURT ATKINS SWEETENER OR EXTRACT MidMroning TEA WATER WATER lunch 3OZ chicken BREAST, or FLANK,or 2 eggs, or STEAK OR FISH 1/4 CUP GR. Beans, BABY PEAS and 1/4 CUP CARROTS,BEETS Afternoon drinks SNAPPLE TEA OR ICED TEA SUGAR FREE Jello NO CARB WATERS dinner CHICKEN, TURKEY, FISH and 1/4 C. ZUCHINNI OR YELLOW SQUASHand 1/4 C CARROTS OR BROCCOLI Evening Drinks1 C SKIM MILK SUGAR FREE pudding IF I ATE EVERYTHING ELSE CORRECTLY and a SUGAR FREE POPSICLE IF HUNGRY.

My doctor insists on the 1 c. of skim milk late in the day as it releases the fat in your cells. But maybe you could do without it. I'm also to eat the Protein first and if I start feeling satisfied stop and trash the veggies. You could also do with out the pudding and just have the sugar-free popsicles. If I go below 1000 calories I rarely lose weight, if I go above 1200 calories I gain for the next day.

    Hope that helps.

  3. We have one fellow in our support group that weighs 450 pounds. Most of his brothers and father died before the age 45. He decided he wanted to live to see his children grow up. He has to get to 300 if he wants the lap band. 350 for the bypass. He's lost 27 pounds so far in 4 months. So he will get there. I eat 2 Protein drinks a day(Isopure no carb) 6 oz each when hungry.

Breakfast is 1/2 C. greek yogurt with2 oz unsweetened applesauce and cinnamon.

lunch and dinner is 4 oz of chicken, turkey or fish and 2 vegetables of 1/2 cup each. Normally for lunch I have the starchy veg. (peas, winter squash, or brown rice) I am not allowed anything white(flour, Cereal, rice etc).

In the afternoons I normally have a cup of sugar free Jello. And in the evenings I have 1 cup of sugar free pudding with skim milk. An hour before I go to bed I have an 8 oz glass of milk. I drink Diet snapple, herbal tea with splenda, and at least 64 oz of Water. If you get hungry add one more zero carb Protein Drink. If you go off the plan before pudding time you get no pudding. This works for me. One of our nurses does the same diet even though she has had any surgery, so I know you can do it. Remember you didn't gain the weight in a month so don't plan on losing it in a month. We are all cheering for you.

  4. What are you eating? Do you keep a food log? This will show if you are around 1000 cal. and 75 g of Protein. If you eat too little your body will go in starvation mode and you will not lose as fast. Did you have to have a mental health consult before your surgery? I did and he told me I would mourn the loss of food, but if I got angry or depressed to call him so he could help me through that rough time. I've been struggling with the exercise also as it's just too cold to walk. Let me know how your doing.

  5. I'm losing some of my frustration with something the Dr told me yesterday when I got a fill. He said that the reason he doesn't fill more often is that your new stomach needs to adjust to where the band is. His particular minimum refill date is 6 weeks, but some Drs go as long as 3 months. If you do the fills too quickly the band will slip.

Anyway I received another 2.5 cc., and away went the hunger. Now I need to get back to 3 meals & 2 Snacks with the correct portions.

    Happy losing to all.

  6. I go the 17th of Feb. for my second fill, and was actually glad to hear that Beth from VA was feeling hungrier after her first fill. I was to the point that I was about to taste the dog food. I keep no junk in my house so that was the most tempting thing I had. The last 2 weeks I've gained 6 pounds, thanks to the Dr's suggestion of eat more often and small meals. I am always hungry. HELP!!!
