  1. :eek:Hi Amanda, I have 4cc total and I am worried about getting the next fill because I do have restriction but zero self control over hunger. I am eating the wrong things from time to time, I eat mostly peanuts and raisin as a snack but when i get home from work I am in snack heaven everything here is bad for me and I want it and feel guilty afterwards. Do u still get really hungry? Do u feel too tight?

  2. It's just nerves...please don't let anything I said change your mind (Please do it)

  3. YOU BETTER NOT BACK OUT!

You will be fine... go back and read that post again ... I had my surgery on 1/12/09 and it has saved my life.

  4. Welcome Newbie,

Ask me any questions you like I will answer you honestly and if I don't know the answer I will help you find it.

    Ann

  5. Don’t get too stressed out to be honest, you can still have the foods you love just a 1/4 of a serving is all it will take to satisfy you. Dr. M will not put anything in your band during surgery but you will still have minimal restriction just from having the band placed. So, don't expect to get full super fast just practice listening to your body and you'll know when to stop eating I promise. Ann

  6. No, I don't but I have a clerical job and there are times when I have get up and down to go over to the counter to help people with questions and I don't want to have to hold on to anything to get up nor do I want to hold my stomach which will draw questions on innocent concerns. I want to be able to work and know that I'm okay. Today I feel wonderful and I Monday I can go back to work on full blast and enjoy it. I also started back walking today on my treadmill and I feel good.

It is normal to want to eat everything you love and enjoy just do not over do it. Choose your last supper wisely...I chose Red Lobster and it wasn’t all that I hoped it would be. I should have gone to Long John Silver's instead. LOL!

  7. No I am not working yet, I'll go back on thw 25th. I took 2 weeks off and boy am I glad. Some people say they went back to work after taking a few days but, that in my opinion is not a good idea. I haven't had any complications and wounds look wonderful but this is a major surgery and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

It was the best choice I've made for myself in a very long time. I had my first follow-up appointment today and Dr. M was very impressed with my incisions and my overall progress. He doesn't fill your band until the 2nd week out. He believes in allow your body to heal from surgery to give you every possible chance at being successful.

    When is your surgery?

  8. yes, they were awesome. I don't regret the surgery at all. I must that this phase is hard (liquids and counting protein).

  9. How are you. whats going with you. Are you still enjoying the life of a banded girl?

  10. Heyyyyyyyyyy Automatic girl LOL! welcome to the band wagon!

  12. Continued from below...

I just set out walking until I thought I had gone far enough to get back home in time to shower eat and get to work on time.

Thanks Pete for the push. May God continue to you bless as you have blessed others.

  13. Hi Pete!

I had to stop by to thank you and give you mad props for the advice you gave me a few weeks ago, you said the best advice you could give me was to get out and start walking before my surgery and I did. Honestly it was the hardest thing to do, I didn't realize just how out of shape I was... okay, I knew that I was but not that bad! I walked about 7 minutes and sat down in someone?s yard LOL!

I caught my breath and continued walking not realizing until a week later that I was walking on a steadily increasing incline.

I drove my car the walking path I take and guest what I've been walking 1.7 in 30 minutes the whole time.

  14. helllo all!

I completed my pre-admit testing today!

  15. Hi Brenda,

It's okay, try to increase your cardio just a little bit more. Also, my dr. asked me to stay away from slim fast products because they are too high in sugar!

The best thing for you to do at this point is to take out all white foods from your diet; sugar, flour, sauces, potatoes, pasta and bread.

    I hope this helps...

    Ann

  16. Hi Ginny,

Yes, Dr. Monash is really nice and he came highly recommended by my internal medicine doctor (Michelle Lally).

Tri-care approved me in two days first try. I have a list of co-morbids it was pretty cut and direct. My pre-admitt appointment is tomorrow and my surgery is scheduled for monday at 8:45 at St.Mary's.

If have any questions just ask. Thanks for the post!

    Ann

  20. You are an awesome lady!

Working on your dissertation...Wow! Talk about being focused. I'm finishing my BS in psychology right now, I have plans to start my masters program in the fall and that will be it for me. Keep up the good work and continue speeding those positive vibes. I enjoyed reading your post.

    Thx,

    Ann

  21. Girrl, thank you so much, when I read this it really made me feel good. We've never met but I truly believe that you will follow my progress and be a source of support for me. Today I went to GNC to pick up a few trial sized protein supplements and then I to the commissary to pick up a couple boxes of special K protein mix to add to my water. What do you think about slim fast low carb shakes?

I am also working on putting together a few menus so that I won't have to stand in front of the pantry and try to figure out what to eat.

Thank you so much for taking a minute to show some love.

    Ann

  22. Hi Bigpapa,
