[quote I guess we are a persisten bunch!! By time most of us get to orientation we have already made up our minds and done the research. I thiough about it for six months before I even went to orientation and by the time I did I had done the research and made up my mind this was the way to go. But I do think alot of people at the orientation where still undecided and rather clueless!! I agree about the clueless and undecided folks. These are the people who hold up the appointment spots, they probably get called first lol, while we sit and get restless. That's too bad for us.

SWRKTP, When was your orientation? My understanding is that they are calling appointments for the people who were in orientation during the holidays. So if you are in that batch then you may be getting a call soon.

Christine: Thanks for accepting the FB invite. I didn't want to talk about the surgery on the wall, when needed I will write you through your "FB inbox". LOL, no no need for Sac Richmond Team. Thanks to all of you for meeting, I had a wonderful time.Nicole, Audrey is so cute!!! We should this this more often. I went to my orientation today. I left the house at 4:30 am, needless to say I am sleep deprived. The orientation went well, oh my some of the questions that people asked baffled me, especially when we all know we there to find a tool to help us in our quest to lose weight . After hearing all the information about both RNY and LB, I am fully convinced that I want to do the LB. I don't mind gradual weightloss. They told us that they'd be calling to give us our next appointment. Well I tried calling them after we left but no luck. I'm going to pester them until I get an appointment. So I will be starting the my diet tomorrow.. I am excited!!!

[ I have lost some weight even with my half hearted christmas break diet..........today everyone went home and I am getting serious. Just shocked that I still lost just by limiting carbs and haven't totally cut them out yet!! Would love to get this moving............... Congrats on the weightloss during this difficult season. Now put your game face on and we'll be right along with you!:tongue2:

I think Arden area will be great and also a midpoint for us. We can do Fresh Choice (i know it has some bad choices) however this way we can have better control or we can meet at any restaurant and order salads. How does this sound?

Mollie, thanks for your response! Nicole, you have pretty much summed it up for me that the LB is for me. It scares me to death to think about my intestines being re-routed and not having the ability to reverse. My husband also agrees with the LB idea. I know its a foreign object in my body then again I already have foreign objects in my body already lol, what's one more:thumbup:. I really like this board and appreciate all of your input. I was able to get my orientation date to 1/6 and very happy about that.

Thanks for your response. I'm sure you might be able to go to a Kaiser Bariatric facility out of state. I kow in the past Kaiser has made provisions for patients to see other docs, who maynot be directly affiliated with them. Check with member services. I am also battling with which procedure to have. I like the lap because it is reversible, my fear with bypass is the dumping syndrome that I have heard a lot of people express who have had gb. Ultimately, I think I will go with LB. The good news is that when all is said and done and we are post-op we will be healthier and or moving towards healthy living :-).

Hi Riley, thanks for the welcome. Christmas was very relaxing for me. The kids opened their gifts and we went to The Shrinners Children Hospital to bless the kids there with some gifts. Food wise I was a total mess, I suppose I'm trying to get in all I can before my orientation. I did put a break on the feasting, after that's the reason why I'm heading towards this route. I'm looking forward to this process. My husband bought into this and that makes it a thousand times more exciting. You did well eating on your trip it appears, 1lb is nothing, you will get the 10lbs of before the 23rd I'm confident .
