  1. Like you, I have never had a problem losing the weight. It's the keeping it off that has not been my strength. My weight loss has been slow, but I spent the first three months trying to fight my band (eating slider foods) instead of following the rules. Consequently, I have seen more weight loss the past two months than I saw the first three months because I wasn't focused. We all should be commended for our journey.
  2. You have done very well. I was banded Nov. 20, 2008 and I have lost nearly 35 lbs. And like you, I am very happy to see it go...
  3. I normally lose weight immediately after a fill. You've done very well with weight loss. Keep up the good work!
  4. Congratulations..I know you must feel good. I am looking forward to the day when I can fit into my husband's jeans and even more importantly weigh less than he does. Keep up the good work because you're worth it!

LOL...great post. I look forward to reading your next one...
  7. You guys have done very well. In six months, I have lost 33 lbs. My progress has been slow, but I am thankful because I am not where I was in November. Keep up the good work!
  8. I hope you feel better soon. I am glad you decided to post because had I gotten sick (flu, sinus, etc.), I would have known it would effect my band. I hope you feel better soon. Please keep us posted!

    A little update from me

    Good luck and congratulations!
  10. Thanks for this encouraging post! I am 6 months out and I have lost a little over thirty pounds. In the past, I was disappointed; however, I am so grateful now. Like you said, I thank God for the progress and I am not where I used to be.

    What Plateau?

May 22, 2009 179.8 I couldn't believe the scale this morning...I lost over 2 lbs :cursing: which put me in the 170's and a total weight loss of 33.2 lbs. I am so thankful for this forum and all of the encouraging comments that were left. I took some B12, increased my water intake and walking, and stopped the snacking after 6:00 p.m. I am definitely getting a lot of positive comments about my weight loss. My clothes are fitting loose and I feel so...good that I could scream! I am over half-way to my goal of 150 lbs.

    Fun Goals...

When I arrive at my goal weight, I look forward to the following: 1. Wearing sleeveless shirts. 2. Wearing shorts. 3. Cutting my hair. I would love to get a breast lift too, but I have to finish paying for my band first!

    Plateau...please go away

Thank you guys for stopping by and leaving encouraging words. It really means a lot to know that there are others having or have gone through a similiar experience as me. Plateaus can be frustrated, but I am not going to let it be an excuse to become discouraged and give up.

    Plateau...please go away

May 19, 2009 182.2 For the past two weeks or so, I have been at or about 182 lbs. I want so very badly to be in the 170's. :smile2: I know this is a journey...I am not going to give up. I am going to put my metabolism in gear. I haven't been walking as much, so I am going to increase my activity again. Also, I need to drink my water too! So...let's see how those two goals work for me!
  17. Congratulations...keep up the good work because you're worth it!

i miss my food so much

I totally understand how you feel. Like most have said, I wouldn't trade my band for anything. However, I do miss mindlessly eating and drinking cokes. Needless to say, I don't miss the thirty pounds I have lost!
  20. I weigh myself every morning. When I don't weigh, I gain weight!

    Restricted for Mothers' Day

May 9, 2009 183 lbs I am not looking forward to eating out today for Mothers' Day. It's also my TOM, so I know that the restriction is tight. I must remember to chew, chew, chew, and chew some more and take small bites. I wonder why my band is tighter during my TOM.... Here's to a wonderful Mothers' Day!

  23. For the past two - three months I have lost weight during my TOM because the restriction is tighter than ever. Normally, I too gained weight, but not anymore. I am having to adjust my eating though. I am not looking forward to eating out today for Mothers' Day.

    30 Pounds Gone Forever

May 3, 2009 182.4 On the day of my surgery, I weighed 213 lbs. and today I have passed the 30 lbs. mark and am 182.4 lbs. I feel so good. I am halfway to my goal. The process has been slow. It has taken 5 months for me to lose 30 lbs, but I am not dwelling on that. The lowest I have been in the last few years has been 173, so I am really looking forward to losing some virgin fat and to think I am only 10 lbs. away is great progress. The best feeling I have is not worrying about gaining this weight back so ... quickly as I have done so...many times in the past.
