  1. Yes, the band can takes some time to show you restriction. If the vomitting persists I would get a slight unfill.
  2. I asked Dr. Curry on this thread if it stretched the pouch out. He said there was no scientific evidence of that. I think the carbonation can just upset the stomach. In my case, it irritates it.
  3. Yes, that is realistic. I was banded on a Tuesday and returned on Monday to a desk job too.
  4. Cindy, you are doing fabulous. Congrats.
  5. It takes me forever to eat a meal. I vote for a burden.
  6. I replaced my habit with drinking and shopping. Not good.
  7. I drink. The only downside is slower weight loss.
  8. I also agree with Wendell however. I wish I could eat a cup and still lose!
  9. My doctor gives me a big smile when I say that I can only eat 1/2 cup of food. If you get your protein in, which is most important, and can handle 1/2 cup then that is great restriction!
  10. I eat everything just less of it! Your post op diet will be liquids then mushies then solids. On the liquid stage it is really important to get your protein in. I used protein shakes to supplement. On the mushy stage I enjoyed all soft foods and then onto solids.
  11. I wonder if a numbing agent may help you? I never am sore after a fill. Good luck.
  12. I would go see your regular MD. Since you have lost 40 lbs you may need to tweak your medication.
  13. Congrats on your surgery date. It is so exciting!
  14. Yes, gurgling is a sign of restriction. Did he use a numbing agent before the big needle? You shouldn't be sore.
  15. Missy, that is actually a really good price! I think mine is more like $9k and $200 a fill no matter how many you need. I have spent a lot of money on fills! Good luck. Its exciting.
  16. Gummiebear, I would try and cut your portions to maybe a 1/2cup and 800-1k calories a day. How much are you able to eat? Sometimes the pouch can get back to normal by itself. YOu also may want to go on liquids for a few days to see how you do. Good luck. I know you have done really well with the band.
  17. Missy, I live in Gilroy and I have a wonderful surgeon who does my fills in San Jose named Dr. Robert McKeen. He takes other doctor's patients if you need a fill doctor who is closer.
  18. I couldn't believe this when I read about it. I feel so bad for her!
  19. Good for you! I have 17 more lbs to go before I hit 200. Good job.
  20. Grace, I have a size 10 band which holds 4ccs. I was at 3.2 and went down to 2.9 and have maintained okay. You may only need to go do .3 or so. Try it out. Good luck.
  21. Sharon, you really need to think long and hard as to why you had the surgery. Do you need a fill? What restriction level are you at? How much do you eat. This is a committment and you can do it! Start over today.
  22. Rosie, I totally understand. I cried before I had the surgery saying to myself "how did I get here". The surgery was actually pretty easy. I had to take anti nausea medication a little bit and my port site was sore. It took me about a week and I felt just fine. You will do great! Good luck.
  23. Lisa, there is nothing like true restriction. 1/2 a cup of food is perfect. Good luck.
  24. Jenn, it sounds like you are doing all the right things. You will be sore for a few days at least.
