  1. This is very common. I believe I was back on solids anywhere from 4-6 weeks. You are right on track.
  2. I am still about 25 lbs from goal. People do not treat me any different. I am an average loser at 1-2 lb a week. I've lost 58 lbs in 13 months.
  3. Sorry to hear that. Keep the faith. It will be worth it.
  4. I always start my day with a 30 gram protein shake. If you throw in some ice you can make it really nice. You may want to substitute your ice cream for a chocolate shake. They are 300 calories. I bet a pint of Ben & Jerry's is 800 calories. That is death! Do you need a fill? How is the job search. That is a very stressful time. Take good care of yourself.
  5. The secret is to just pace yourself. I would take a bite or 2 of each dish waiting in between dishes. Also, I read a book recently and the doctor in the book said take a sip of wine in between. It will not kill you and it will space the food out. Have fun and enjoy.
  6. Ask your doctor if you can make payments. That is the only way I can get a fill too.
  7. You look great. Keep up the good work.
  8. Hi Dorothy. They probably will direct you at the seminar. You most likely will have to have blood work, psych eval and meeting with a nutritionist. Hopefully your insurance will cover everything for you. Mine did, accept fot the fills.
  9. Welcome to lapband talk forum. Congrats on getting your surgery date.
  10. Hi Daniel, welcome to lapband talk forum. You are doing great. I too want to get to 200 lbs. I have about 30 to go. Wish me luck.
  11. I drink through a straw perfectly. No problems here.
  12. You are not alone. I have been banded since June of last year. I have only lost 50 lbs. I have had so many fills I have lost count. Last fill was to 3ccs which was about 3 weeks ago. I have no lost my fill yet again. It is so frustrating. I go back into the surgeon on Thursday to find out if my fill was lost again. I had that happen once already. I am totally disgusted with myself right now. I don't really know what to do other than try and get yet anoter fill.
  13. Surby, you sound just like me. I have been banded a year and have only lost 50 lbs. I can eat everything, just less of it. I am going back in for a fill this Thursday. You are not alone.
  14. Mine is just about at the waist line and I love it. I can never feel it.
  15. Welcome to lapband talk forum. I love being banded. My weight loss is just average at 50 lbs this year. The band is simply a tool. Don't expect rapid weight loss. Some bandsters lose really fast but you may be average like me. Just follow the rules, exercise and enjoy being banded.
  16. Don't worry too much about weight loss. If your insurance company doesn't care you shouldn't. Just eat and stop when you are full. The preop diet is to shrink your liver. You may only lose 5 - 10 lbs on it. You will be okay with that. Good luck.
  17. Yes, you need another fill. You shouldn't be able to eat 5 shrimps with a large caesar salad. You should only be able to eat a little bit of a hamburger patty as well. Go back in until you can only eat 1/4 cup of food. Good luck.
  18. Hi Janie, I was banded a year ago June 6th and I can honestly say I am very discouraged. I have lost approximately 50 lbs. I swear I haven't lost an ounce in 6 months. I keep going back for fills, one after the other. Somedays I have good restriction, other days I feel like its lost. I go back into my surgeon on Thursday of this week so I am hoping he can give me some solid advice. I would go to another surgeon if I were you. I bet you ten bucks you have lost some of your supposed fill. Almost 3 years out with no fills, that is just crazy. Good luck.
  19. Sounds like you are well on your way. Good job! Congrats and I hope you get your band soon.
  20. PB stand for productive burp. It is just like vomitting.
  21. Try this link: Furniture Moving Sliders I put into google, furniture moving gliders and a bunch came up.
  22. Joanne, I am just curious. Are you losing eating an entire sandwich? That seems like a lot of food to me.
  23. Laura, if you can eat an entire sandwich you don't have enough restriction. I can only eat 1/4 of a sandwich. I would go back in for a fill if I were you. Good luck.
  24. Sounds like you may be too tight. You should be able to eat solid protein without a problem. I would go back in for a slight unfill. Good luck.
  25. Chantay, you are definitely not at the right restriction level. If your hunger is coming back within an hour that is not enough. Keep going back for fills until you are full for a few hours at least. Also, keep in mind that solid protein will keep you fullest the longest. It could be that the soft taco didn't have enough meat in it after all. Good luck.
