  1. First of all CONGRATS on your surgery date!!!! That is so exciting! Try and stay positive & not try and dwell on other peoples "bad" experiences. Everyone is different, as for me I had no complications during & after surgery. My face started getting skinner quite soon after surgery, everyone notices it, I don't so much but thats because i'm around myself too much haha :) My main advice is to keep positive, it is easy to get yourself in a rut but, just try try try to think positive. Congrats again, I hope the band will treat you as well as it has for me so far! It is definitely the best decision i've made :) Good Luck!

  2. The band has definitely changed my life and it has been the best decision i've made in my life. If you want the band to work for you, you have to make it work, its up to you! My scars are not bad, the smaller ones are becoming really un-noticable. The large on that is in the middle of my stomach (where the port is) you can see clearly but, i'm sure that it will go away. THe scars are truely the last thing on my mind & its just a little reminder :)

  3. It has been both hard and easy to lose the weight. The hard part has been not eating, since I was a food addict I would eat when I was bored, nervous, upset, etc even when I wasn't hungry. It's been hard to restrain myself from eating all of the time. The easy part has been getting the determination to keep going, every time I look at the scale and its lower then what it was & when i put my really loose jeans on it makes me keep going! Yes the band is just a tool, there is truely no "easy" way to lose weight. My doctor drilled that into my head, this is just a tool. And you have to use the tool right in order for it to work for you. You have to eat healthy & less; and you have to exercise. Without the band there is no way that I could have lost 40 pounds in 4 months. It has allowed me to eat less, I finally knwo what full feels like, before the band i would never get full so I would eat ALOT even if it was healthy food.

  4. Thanks! My fill went really well, didn't feel a thing! He added 1cc to my band, so i'm up to 4cc's.

  5. my pre-diet consisted of 2 week full liquids. This was creamy soups, juices, sugar-free pudding, sugar-free jello, etc. Your liver needs to shrink because part of your liver sits ontop of your stomach. If you have a fatty liver it can make it hard for the surgeon to get to the stomach. Its just a way to help make your surgery easier. The pre-diet was the hardest part for me, i felt like i was starving! But, it was worth it, my surgeon said that he wished all of his surgeries went as easy as mine did since he could get in and place the band without anything in the way.

  6. hey yes i had my surgery december 22. i have already lost 22 pounds, its amazing! right now i'm eating "normal" food, i can get almost anything down since i don't have much restriction, i only have 3ccs in my band. But, i do eat a lot less than i did before the band. I have my first fill on feb 3rd and i cannot wait. I hope it finally gives me some more restriction. I didn't have much pain after surgery and haven't had any complications other than gas pain. I can feel my port through my skin but it doesn't hurt at all. Overall, its an amazing tool and even though its been only a month i love my band :) if you have any other questions just ask :)

  7. hey! i'm doing pretty well. i have my first fill february 3rd and i cannot wait! i don't have much restriction right now, i have 3cc's in my band.
