    best bette,,, I'd attribute most of your soreness to the hernia because I wasn't too sore at all and went back to work in 3 days,,,, I had a hernia once and had it repaired during another surgery as well - I was like you and didn't know mine was there.... a new me

    hey iam alucky dog - my scars are way below my bra line - I guess that would hurt... i just have 2 small slits far below the bra line...like right above and to the site of my belly button... guess different surgeons do things differently

    It's been a LONG time since I've posted, sorry! I had my surgery in December 08, and it's not almost Aug. and I've lost about 45 lbs - give or take. I run out of things that I can eat so...so sick of salads!! just wanted some thoughts and support.. thanks.. a new me

    i was very hungry before my first fill as well. I remember it - no, you will not break your band... I've never heard of that... if it gets anywhere near that point, you won't be able to eat.... hang in there - hope your first fill is soon. It will make a huge difference.... what helps me when I get so hungry is to go out for a walk... that's what I am going to do now!!

    My nutritionist says it has everything to do with water. If you really drink ALOT of water before eating, you'll be able to eat more easily - but, be careful, you don't want to be able to eat too much. I like where I am with my restriction right now - no pastas or breads...even with tons of water!

    I guess I was very lucky because I went back to work in 3 days and I do not sit at work. I had my surgery on a Friday, went home on Saturday and back to work on Tuesday - I was sore but I was ready... plus, I never shared my "secret" with anyone at work... I feel this is very private and didn't want to hear any advice from skinny people who have no idea what it is to be heavy

    I was starving 2 weeks after my surgery so I can't relate!! i had the opposite problem - I could and did eat everything which is BAD!!! You don't lose weight when you eat too much period - with or without the band. The fill I have no is holding me well and I am happy - just hang in there and you will get it right, too.... sorry you can't eat!! a new me

    hello all, I am glad to have found this resource because I haven't told anyone but my husband about this surgery. For whatever reason, I've chosen to keep this private. Maybe because I work with all women. Anyway, I had my first "solid" food today which was an egg. I have had nothing but slim fast since Nov. 21. Thanksgiving was awful, but that's in the past now. Thanks for being supportive! a new me

    Restriction after surgery / before fill

    I haven't had a fill yet - how bad is the injection? I am not afraid, quite the opposite - I can't wait! I have been hungry since I woke up from my surgery 8 days ago. My doc seems to be more conservative than most. He doesn't allow anything but slim fast for 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks post op. Then I am only allowed cottage cheese and eggs for a week. All I know is, I am starving and can't go on like this much longer. a new me

    This is Saturday morning. My surgery was 8 days ago and so far nothing but Slim Fast. Soup sounds awesome right about now - but my doc said nothing but Slim Fast until my first follow up appt which is this Friday - seems like a LONG WAYs away. big sigh... I am losing weight, I can feel it, but I am feeling sad nonetheless. a new me

    Hi there - I am starving, too! Lord help me! I was banded on Friday, and went back to work today. I am sore and starving. I never knew hunger was painful until Saturday. I am only allowed Slim-Fast. Guess there's nothing much I can do :-( big sigh. a new me

    This is my first time using this site so please bear with me. I was banded on Friday and went back to work today (Tuesday). I am sore, but moreso am STARVING!!! Slim fast is not cutting it. HELP!!!
