  1. Welcome home tamisu, so happy all went well for you and you are recovering so quickly
  2. You cant help but feel for the poor love, lets hope both she and her mum get the help and support they need. On a different note Gok (bangers) 'fashion, look good naked' has got a new program showing when he was 20+ stone, it supposed to be an inspirational programme, not all about diet, and hitting you around the head to get thin, but more about making the most of yourself as you aim for a healthier life style, it may be on tonight not sure though. Might be worth a look as I need lots of motivation, and feel good vibes.
  3. Hi freckles, I so please everything is going good for you now, when are you going on holls?
  4. me to ... just hubby, daughter, and mother knows, and that how i need to keep it for now. But thanks for the invite.
  5. AMAZING, well done you, I'm so pleased to hear that you are now out of pain, and on the mend, the messages that are being put forward is not to do to much to soon. Boy are my going to take advantage of that, I'll be like the queen of Sheeba, "fetch this, fetch that, fluff my pillows, I need a foot massage". and then I'll wake up, never mind I can dream on. Wonder full news on your weightloss, does anyone one know how to get one of those ticker thingies. If so can you let me know in very simple steps please (no good at computers). Thanks
  6. Tamisu should be done and dusted, or at least plucked and feathered buy now, I keep thinking of each of as you have gone for your op and theres not many more on my list to cross out only TC27 I think before me, lets hope all is well for them and they report back with good news. How does anyone feel about having a weekly weigh in report so that we can help each other and support those who are struggling. perhaps a sunday (before lunch) weigh in ??
  7. You are so lucky to be having it on the NHS, I'm really pleased for you, my op is on the 13th Feb in belgium, I cannot afford to fund it in UK, and my doctor does'nt even help with diets, pills, or anything else, she's overweight herself and just says to cut down what you eat, (as if that rocket science) so I'm flighing from heathrow on the 12th. I have'nt been given a pre op diet, but reading on this forum that everyone else is I have chosen to go on protien shakes and have 1 low fat meal a day - if I can stay on it - . Good luck with yours. Its so good to hear that someone at least is having the help without having to fight for it to much, good for you, I wish you all the best, and will stay it touch to hear you progress. What do I have to do to get one of those ticker things easy instructions please I'm useless on computer, and help would be appreciated. Thanks
  8. oh, bless, you have had such a bad time, I cant give you any advice but I know the sickness is often caused by low oxygen in the blood, it also makes you feel very shakey, look very green and feel like s**t, so dont be put off taking pain killers, if they dont work then consider e.mailing Fredrick or Dr Chris or contact your GP. I hope someone can give you more advise and info, but no one these days need suffer unbearable pain. Sending you love and hugs. mmm
  9. All the best TC, have a good trip and good luck, hope to hear from you soon.

    Great News

have you seen the other thread for 09 feb bandsters come join
  11. Welcome tammy, I notices your from the Uk, where are you having your band fitted
  12. Hi sparky1, Glad you joined us, you should be so proud of yourself to lose 2 stone since Oct is FANTASTIC, its only January, and we have had christmas and all the excessess that brings, I have'nt been banded yet , I'm due in two weeks but I've gone up from 88KG to 91 since the beginning of Dec, so cant wait to get some of this spare tyre off. I know its no quick trick, but it must be doing something for you. I dont know anyone who has'nt got a band, that could loose that amount over christmas. So big pat on the back for you and well done. mmm
  13. Hi Shoes, I booked the same as flirtylass, for the package, to include hotels and taxi's, you just need to book flights into Brussels international. Around 2 weeks before the op you need to send your deposit and take the rest of the money with the brussels to pay in cash (euros). My date is Feb 13th. There is a lot of information in past posts on this thread, happy reading. mmm
  14. Welcome cherryhog (oohhh that could have been my name as I eat them by the kilo when I'm if france (April til Oct) Try and contact Dr Chris directly because he accepted me at BMI 35, I have no other health risk, but I dont know what his upper and lower BMI are, no doubt he will want to take into account your age and other medical history. There is no hard sell and as you are only making an e,mail enquiery there is no committment. Good luck let us know what he says. Love mmmm
  15. What FAB news 1 stone gone already, I am soooo envious I cant wait to have mine fitted Woop Woop mmm
  16. Welcome Tink, I'm being banded 3 days after you in Belgium, good luck with your liquid diet, I've just been reading through the thread, and have choosen to go on a shakes plus low fat meal, and have'nt been advised to do so but it seams a very sensible option. Give your hubby a big hug, and I hope he is feeling better, How long do you stay in hospital after the op?
  17. Your pre op diet looks very sensible, and I'll also do the same type of thing I think, just because I have'nt been told to go one one does mean it wont do me good, are you having two shakes a day plus a low fat meal? or is it an unlimited amount as long as its low fat? I will start on the 1st Feb, which will give me nearly two weeks. Good luck with starting yours, if your like me the first three days will be the worst, but lets hope we can all stay motivated. What types of shakes are they are they high protien? mmm
  18. Thanks so much for your reply, WOW you go through such a lot, I am impressed that you are so committed, It must be so helpful to have a support group, is it compulsary to attend? I only started to think about a band in mid Dec, and had a date within two days of agreeing the fee, the delay was only caused because I had to forward by e.mail, my age height and weight. my bmi is 35 and I dont have any other problems, I'm 51 and fit and healthy, I just like to eat the wrong foods. The surgeon I choose is Dr Chris De Buyrne, and he is based in Brussels, Belgium, so its an hour flight for me. What do you do in the support groups you attend, and do they have both pre and post op members?
  19. Hi I'm MMM from the UK, and we do things a bit different here, No pre op tests,(we meet and have the first consultancy the morning of the operation) No set pre op diet, (just been told to eat a lower fat diet just before the op). As long as the BMI is over 35 you just book, pay, and go, and the band is fitted, you leave hospital the next day, with a date for your first fill. You can take your own stiches, or have them taken out for you by a local nurse. It all seams a lot less fuss but most people have to fund the operation themselves, as the National Health Service (free health care) will only fund very high BMI patients. So my question is what do you have to do, I might be able to pick up some tips which could help. My banding date is February 13th, because there is a 6 weeks waiting list from the time of first enquiery. Feedback would be most welcome . Love and Hugs MMM
  20. Welcome Sammy, I also booked as a result of reading this thread, its fab, and everyone is so friendly and supportive, I'm being banded on the 13th Feb, one month before you but also on the dreaded date FRI 13th, the closer its getting the less I'm worrying about the date, but I am also getting more excited each day, expecially after such great reports from the post op group. mmm
  21. Hi freckles, Perhaps is was fate that stopped your xrays arriving in Brussels, and that you were meant to wait for a letter from your previous surgeon, so that you now can assess both options. Price and convience would be my motivators, but of course yours might be quite different. Can you have the op done quickly in Southampton. Looking forward to hearing your choice, even if you choose uk please stay in touch with us hear, your input is appreciated. Love mmm
  22. So pleased for you TC and well done with keeping your blood pressure under control, no wonder its a bit high, you are after all going abroad for an operation, not a holiday. I hope that after its over your BP will come back to normal. Good luck and best wishes for your trip, I'll be thinking about you mmm.xxx :wink5:
  23. Do you think that because it was in a tube it went parcel post instead of letter post, that would account for the delay, and it might still turn up sometime this week with Dr Chris. Fingers crossed for you that it will turn up by end of this week, if not will he still do the op if you arrange a consultation in the uk with him before you commit to going to Brussels, I can feel your frustration, and it was'nt even your fault that you needed a rebanding anyway aaahhhhhh. Thinking of you love mmm.
