  1. Well done wishfull a gold star for you. Gillian and Big sister, count on me I want madras and lots of crumble with custard, hehe. But I bet I wont be able to eat cos I'd laugh so much. KAKA, So pleased all went well, and I hope you enjoyed your trip. Please tell all about tummy tuck people, cos I dont think anyone else on here has had much info about recovery etc Shoes, glad you all met up, hope all is well for you. Thanks Gary i look that up now but I dont know if I'll ever need them, nothing is getting stuck or uncomfortable trust me to be the one with no side affects. Freckles how did your meeting go are you feeling any happier
  2. Hi Hoppe, welcome to the group, there's lots of usefull info on past posts, I booked on the package with Fredrick, (Dr. Chris assistant surgeon) and he and his partner Chris Duprez came to the hotel the night before for a consultation. You can book a pre op consultation in the UK I think it costs about £100, but I did'nt and all was fine. Gary had a pre op consultation, so I'm sure he'll give you further info, from what I can remember you can have a consultation at London, Scotland, and one or two other location in the uk
  3. Hi big sister, and Gillian, you are so much fun, I'd love to be a fly on the wall in your get togethers. Keep well xxxmmmxxx
  4. Your weight gain will probably turn out to be fluid, because to have such serious medical issues you could very well have been de hydrated so it wont be fat, keep up the good work, water aerobics sound good, I even gain weight/fluid when I go swimming I know it sounds strange but my skin absorbs water, if I weigh before a bath and straight away after, with nothing to eat or drink in between I can gain 3lbs easily but its only fluid and temporary and is gone by the next morning. Happy days
  5. Hi freckles, how you feeling after your op, I know you've had a lot to cope with since youve come home but you must still be sore and weak, I hope all is healing quickly for you.
  6. Hi flirty, I'm still worrying about your health issues, have you started eating a bit more now and feeling better. I think about you most days so please let me know, I know I'm a fussy old bat but i do care about everyone on here.
  7. Hi fatpants, it goes to show we are all need support and use food, as our prop. I've also put on 2lb in the last few days, but together we'll beat this, as a support group its important we help each other with what ever our issues are, so feel free to shout, scream stamp and do what you need to do, I for one will be here to listen. I wonder if the naughty, and funny, fab sisters managed their curry this week after their band fill. Hi girls if your there let me know, I'm soooooooo needing a fill I'm putting on weight again.
  8. Hi Gary sian and bump are good. What will happen about your bump (heamatoma) will it go on its own or will it have to be drained. Welcome home flirty lass spill the beans on the weekend away or is it too special to say. Hi Janemary I know your there come and say hi this group is great and we pride ourselves on being here for information and all types of support.
  9. Hi cant weight, campanile is a little basic but very clean and has good comfortable beds, look through past pages cos you'll need to take extras like tea bags and large mugs (they only supply egg cup sized plastic cups), Breakfast and evening meal is NOT included in the price and is quite expensive. I would not be surprised if Fred reads this cos whenever theres a problem it quickly gets resolved after airing it on here. Oh when you get to brussels. your taxi pick up will be holding a card with the blue and green company logo. you will get loads of info from past posts, plus if you go onto u tube miss flump has posted a video which shows the interior of the hotel and hospital (search miss flump).
  10. Lewis abbey how are you and mum I dont think we've had an update from you for a while, are you back to normal yet. keep me posted.
  11. Hi Gary dude, how you doing, is mum ok give her my love, have you started back at the gym yet, I started tues but got stitch after 15 mins on treadmill, so only did rower on fri for 20 mins that seamed ok. I also went back today and was ok on treadmill but only did 15 mins, are you finding you are still slower or are you healing quicker than me. Are you ready for your fill, its next week isnt it.
  12. Oh WOW you look fab for 60 ish, I hope I keep my looks like you, if not I be researching face lifts once the weight is down, I've had a strop at vanessa, cheeky monkey coming on hear and spoiling the team spirit. hehe.

  13. Sorry freckles, my views are very personal and I am still grieveing for my grandmother, and that why I've been a bit quiet regarding your mum its bringing it all back. But good luck with your meeting, if its not complained about, many so called nurses will quite happily see the elderly rot in their beds, if they cant do anything about it they should become a whistle blower for the sake of humanity. GO FRECKLES. xxxmmmxxx
  14. no one should have to put up with the indignity of being left with vomit an excrement left on them, as well as being put at risk of de hydration. My grandmother died of dehydration last june in the care of nhs. Official enquiry pending, but have recieved official appology, and responsibility has been accepted by the hospital. But it does'nt bring my grandmother back. If you cant stand the heat stay out of the kitchen.
  15. Fab photo, but this one is not as like me as the other but its the same chin and face shape, perhaps a slightly different nose but I will sort photo out for you,. I am 52 in august, are you close to my age.

  16. Hi claireycurtis, its great to have another uk preggie bandster on here, where did you get banded.
  17. My daughter went to see her banding surgeon last week and he has offered to keep on seeing her on free consultations, at spire/bupa Cardiff in South Wales he was happy to let her keep her fill as it is until her consultancy next month and then depending on her weight will decide on if she needs a full or partial unfill, but so far her appetite is good but not excessive, so hopefully, she might only need a partial unfill, she is now 8 weeks pregnant, feeling very tired and cannot drink plain water, tea, juice, and milk is fine though, she seems to be eating a lot of cheese. Hope you are all feeling happy and healthy.
  18. Hi SAMMY77, have a great holiday, and good luck with you banding, you'll be well looked after in Belgium, even though you'll feel a bit rough for a few days after, but each day after day 3 you will feel major improvements, if hubby gets a bit concerned about you and wants to chat let him loose on here and we'll try to explain what you are going through. happy banding
  19. Thanks everyone for your good wishes about being a granny, I have 2 grandchildren already one boy and one girl from my son, but this will be the first from my daughter, and I'm really exited. Freckles, I am so sorry about the news with the care your mum has received (or not). There's always something to cause us stress and concern, and its even worse when you feel its being done to someone close to you. Its just not fair. I'm so glad the op went well, and I forgot about the vibrating boots, my daughter had them also at spire, but I did'nt at belgium, and I dont think anyone else did, not that I saw or heard anyway, look after yourself.
  20. OMG I'm from Bridgend too.
  21. Hi big sister and Gillian, I'm go glad everything is ok after your fill, did I understand that you did'nt eat before your fill, if so I did'nt know that you could'nt, you are so lucky having booked a second fill so quickly. I have to wait until the 27th March for my first fill which will make it 6 weeks post op, and then monthly or whenever its needed, or when I'm back home in the UK. I dont mind doing it slowely, my daughter has lost 4 stone over 18 months, with 3 fills, but she has no loose skin, or any medical issues, so I'm hoping to do it like her the only difference is that she does it at BUPA/SPIRE and has it done under XRAY with a rasberry flavoured barium, they watch the liquid go down as she is drinking the barium so that they can judge the rate and speed that she can eat and drink whilst they are giving her the fill and they adjust it accordingly. The cost is inclusive with the op price so she does'nt have to rush to get her fills within a given time limit. The other bit of news is that when we were in Belgium my daughter did a pregnancy test and it was positive, so we went to see her band surgeon, and he has offered to see her and monitor her pregnancy and weight changes free of charge, and has included and unfills and refills if they should become necessary. so all in all she has had a good result. Flirty Lass please take care of yourself I feel I want to bring you home here to me and look after you, I would ensure you eat your 5 a day and some protien and good carbs, please dont rush this weight loss process, you are putting your body at more risk through rapid weight loss. Ease up on yourself its not a race, if you dont you will get very ill and could have an enforced UNFILL, think carefully how that would affect you, and treat your body with care its the only one you get. Sorry to get bossy but I have been very worried about you, and my mothering instincts have loosened my tongue. Ketosis is a symptom of body crises and not the only way to lose weight.
  22. HI KaKa and daughter, and shoes, Have a great trip, it'll all be over before you know it, and a week after that you will be nearly back to normal. Let us know how you get on. Big Sister and Gillian good luck with your fill, we want to find out who the bravest one is.
  23. Hi shoes, my experience is the same as Garys, I was last to book in on the day ,and the ward staff told me I would be done at 3.30, however when Fredrick came onto the ward to see me he asked me what time I was due to be banded I told him, and he said he would try and get me moved up the list. At 12.00 mid day I went down for surgery 3.5 hours early. Some patients who were due to go down around mid day were delayed until early evening, so if you've booked with Fredrick its worth asking for an earlier slot. It worked for me, and Gary. Hope this helps. Frederick will make contact with you at your hotel and give you full details of where and when to be at your destinations with everything prebooked so no worries when the taxi driver comes for you in the morning he will ask you for your room number to ensure he has the right patient.
  24. Freckles,I am so shocked looking at your photo its like looking at myself in a mirror. I am so pleased you've come through the second op so well, lets hope now all will go to plan and you can get back on track, and start to recover. Tell your mum you have friends here and we're all wishing her a quick recovery. xxxmmmxxx.
  25. Hi Guys, just popin in for my weekly weigh in. Its 1lb for the week, not good but not a gain, I have absolutly no difference in what I can eat pre/post banding, I,ve tried the nono foods most of you had trouble with before your fill, but nothings a problem for me down it goes, straight to my waist. So.... hey ho its off to the gym I go, I booked a six week course which will take me to Easter, I them move to France for the summer, with the occasional visit home for band fills. My first is on 27th March so I've got ages to go yet. I guess that even without any discomfort with eating I must be making healthier choices, and goodness only knows where the motivation to go to the gym has come from, but its all good. Now, does anyone know how I change the ticker to show my massive weight loss of 1LB. Hi Freckles, hope all is well with you and you are starting your recovery.
